Matt is the freaking man. He gave me and Mike Stallings a tour when we came down a few years ago to pick up my Cobra. the NPD warehouse has some of the coolest cars ive ever seen in one place.
Wow, just WOW! I used to hate it when you would see a bunch of new muscle cars locked away like this, but as I've aged I have come to appreciate how special a collection such as this is. Too many of these vehicles have been forced to lead destructive lives and are now residing in the junkyard. This Guy has taken the time and money to keep these in special condition for years, taking meticulously good care of them All throughout the years. It's actually very impressive and much more dedicated than I first cared to admit. This dude loves mustangs More than anyone I've ever seen.
I use to feel the same way. But it’s great to be able to see what low mileage, basically new, vehicles look like. A lot of these cars really should be off the road and museum pieces. I really feel cars should be driven. That’s what they are for but some of these are a good exception.
I agree , I’m 30 years old wasn’t around at the time these were popular and I prefer the LX , I love how it looks from behind and side where the exhaust is visible.
Bring back the 90s please! Under 24000 for a brand new car. I remember going to my Ford dealer with my dad in the summer of 93. I was 17 and traded my 86 GT in for a 93 reef blue hatch automatic. The car listed for a little over 18000. I paid 14500 with my trade in. Good days indeed.
Yes but in 1980 minimum wage was $2.90. in 1993 minimum wage is $3.80. plus back in 1980 and in 1993 if you worked a minimum wage job they only paid you minimum wage back then. Now in 2023 minimum wage is $15.00. and in 2023 the $15 an hour minimum wage might as well just be a suggestion at least in Massachusetts. Because retail like grocery stores in home Depot start everyone around $18 to $22.
@@Dr.Meola1980not everyone was making minimum wage in 1980. In 1981 I was making $7.64/hr. (Skilled workers generally make considerably more than non skilled workers). The federal minimum wage in 2023 is $7.25/hr. Some states have a higher minimum wage but many are still $7.25/hr. My states minimum wage is $8.75/hr and it's common to see fast food workers, grocery store workers, and other non skilled workers making $8.75 to $10.00/hr.
I live 45 minutes from the NPD in Ocala. Been in there many times. Gotten parts for my 91 a few times. They always have 4-5 nice cars in the showroom and the car gallery is a must see. Not only the Mustangs but the other Ford cars. Then you have all the other car brands with some top notch stuff. Makes and models even from the 70’s with cars in amazing condition. They have a big car show there every year too. Between the car show outside and everything that’s inside it is a full day of great cars.
My teacher wife has been driving 2 Mustangs for the last 43 years, her first was a 81 and then she bought a New Edge off the showroom floor 99 35 anniversary car,we are in our second house ,and The Alcopolco Blue paint still pops after waxing,60.000 miles, garage kept it whole life. I can’t get her to buy a new Ecoboost,The V-6 still running like a champ !🇺🇸👍
Wow 60k miles? Yall must have everything within short radius of living quarters. I own a red 35th v6 also for 8 years. Put me through high school and college. Purchased it with 32k miles and rid of it at 150k I believe. Only 2 issues the whole time, the radiator and egr valve, both after 100k miles. Got it for $12.5k. Well worth its money and very outstanding dependability.
@Foxbodyfx MY VIBRANT RED 93 COBRA WAS SUCH A GREAT INVESTMENT LOL I BOUGHT IT BACK IN 05 FOR 17 GRAND WITH 19 THOUSAND ORIGINAL MILES AND TODAY IT HAS 22 THOUSAND ORIGINAL MILES AND ALL ORIGINAL EXCEPT FOR EXHAUST AND I BET I CAN GET 60 GRAND PLUS BUT IT'S NOT FOR SALE.
I own my late fathers S10. In his memory, I LS swapped it and literally built this thing from the ground up. I also owned a 99 SS Camaro but my first loves were my 88 and 90 notches. The latter had a 97 4 valve swap. Also owned a black 93 Lightning. I don’t recall the number but if you remember the NLOC, I was member 247. Fox bodies were what EVERYONE wanted when I was a teen. Their looks are timeless and for the time, the power was more than enough to get you in trouble. I love videos like this where we can reminisce about walking dealer lots or even buying one off the lot. Such beautiful cars. Great video and thanks for sharing
Pull up the mecum auction from 3 weeks ago,a collection called the meticulous mustang collection was auctioned off. 13 fox bodies with less than 30 miles on them. All never dealer prepped.
Great video!! What a treat! Little bit of a bummer that the lighting to see the interior wasn’t good. But man!…it take my breath away just watching the video. Can only imagine to be there….
NPD, you should start offering reproduction 2001 Bullitt exterior parts. Side scoop deletes, wingless trunk lids, Bullitt side skirts (both with and without the little built in “mud flap” on the front portion….like the ones of the Oxford White ‘03 Mach 1 I see in there). If you started making repro Bullitt exterior pieces for the New Edge cars…..wow, you’d be stumbling into a GOLD MINE. Nobody makes those parts anywhere. With all the folks that still own 2001 Bullitts it would be great for them to be able to get replacements for missing/broken components (the OG “mud flap” pieces on the side skirts often would get broken) and for other New Edge owners the dream is to delete the fake scoops in favor of the Bullitt side scoop deletes but first off the OGs are not just hard to find, but they are also priced WAYYYYYY too high for two pieces of plastic. Please look into this because some folks want to restore their ‘01 Bullitts and the rest of us want to add a little “Bullitt simplicity” to our New Edges. The Bullitt was such a CLEAN car. Fun fact, the 2003 Cobra rear bumper was originally intended for the 2001 Bullitt….and the 2003 Mach 1 was meant to originally come with the 2001 Bullitt side skirt.
I am starting to miss the slammed Nissan hard body trucks i grew up in Daytona and it was fox body Saleen and little slammed trucks in 89 thru 94 great times.

I use to make car seats the new car smell is tge foam degassing in the seat. We had workers that were so sensitive to that smell from years of making the foam. They had to purchase used cars. Iam not making this up new car smell causes cancers and immune deficiency 😢
I noticed the 94 pace car had the inside of the wheel holes painted like a 96 cobra. I thought the 94’s were all one color or are the pace cars different?

That Oxford white Mach 1 must have been like an early production or a prototype because it was rocking the 2001 Bullitt Rocker Panels. 🙂😮
In the 80’s you wanted the LX with the 5.0, not the GT. The LX was simple and sleek, and the GT was a little overdone and pudgy with its body skirt.
I agree , I’m 30 years old wasn’t around at the time these were popular and I prefer the LX , I love how it looks from behind and side where the exhaust is visible.
Plus the lx coupe was lighter and was preferred for racing on the strips. The hatchback’s advantage was the weight on the rear end.
I disagree. The body panels looked great!
yessss!!! I had the 89' GT...My buddy had the 90' LX Coupe.....I feel like the old school LX 5.0 Coupes were faster.
Yeah, my girlfriend at the time had a 91 5.0 Notchback, and it was much faster than my 83 5.0 GLX convertible.
