What if you weren't born in the UK but have a duel citizenship? How would i go about getting it for my kids then?
Please visit the government website and contact them. They will give you the right answer. I don’t know your full immigration situation so I can’t make any suggestions.

You need to send both and the documents required depends on the immigration status of the parents. The government will list the documents you need to send. It changes from person to person.

Im assuming this is after youve registerd your child as a british Citizen. If neither parent had settled status before the child was born
Yes, this is after you have registered your child as a British citizen.
As soon as the registration is complete and approved, you can apply for a British passport for your child.

Leave to enter is given to someone entering the borders especially when you pass through border clearance. It so permission to enter or stay in the UK.
Leave to remain is what someone gets that allows them to stay in the UK for a limited period of time.

We have applied for our 4 month old baby British passport. Today i got a email back from HM office the person you choose to confirm identity doesn’t meet the criteria .
But we have double checked the criteria and everything was matched. Do you think it could be because that person stated he know the applicant from last 2 year but the baby is 4 month old?

What can we do if the child doesn’t have grand parents and we don’t know their details??
I think you need an immigration advisor as I am not an immigration advisor or consultant.
However, I will share my suggestion on this. I would state it in the form that my child doesn’t have grandparents and we don’t know their details but I had to include something to pass through that stage of application because it won’t let me. It means that while filling your own visa or anything to do with the home office you should use the same details and the same explanations.
I would add this explanation at the end of the form where they ask for any other supporting information.
I really hope you see this, but I am only 14 and my dad was updating my British passport. Upon tracking my passport, the history says:
Application submitted-24th March
Application received-24th March
Documents received-2nd April
Ask someone to comfirm your identity- 3rd April
Email sent to person comfirming your identity-25th April
Identity detail received-26th April
As its currently the 6th of May, im supper worried because im going on a school trip abroad, and my teacher wants my passport in about 3 weeks. Is this wait normal? Its been 8 days since its said idenity details received, have we done something wrong, or is it just a matter of waiting for them to approve my application.
You don’t need to worry about this. I understand that your teacher wants your passport in about 3 weeks, it is likely to be ready before that time.
I don’t know how busy the government is with processing passport applications at the moment but all I can do is encourage you to be patient.

If u have ILR you don’t need to register your baby for citizenship you can apply passport straightway when your child born on that time you should have ILR

I am a bit confused on how you are a British citizen but you have a BRP card.
I think you need to visit the government website and ask them. You may have to explain your situation clearly so that they may decide to ask you to complete a child registration form first and then British passport application or you can go ahead with the British passport application.

The documents you need to send to the Home office will differ from applicant to applicant.
In our case, it was the birth registration documents for both child and parent with British citizen.
Don’t send any document until you receive the message to do so. It states the exact documents you should get. As soon as the confirmation of identity is done, you will receive the message about the document and address you should send it to.

Online it says “the person should work in or be retired from a RECOGNISED PROFESSION.”
If you clicked on the RECOGNISED PROFESSION link, you will see the list of acceptable professions that the person should be in.
You can Google recognised professions that can confirm British passport identity. Follow the link on the UK government website to access the list.

Unfortunately I don’t know much about this aspect of child British Passport application.
I don’t think you can apply from outside the UK, then again, I will suggest you visit the UK government website and get their telephone and email and direct your question to them. You can never tell if there is a special situation for those in Hong Kong.

If you log into your application portal, you would see the list of documents that you should submit. Infact after the individual you nominated has confirmed your identity, you will receive the documents via email and text message.

If you visit the UK government website, it explains the conditions for each step. If you and/or your partner are British citizens by birth, you can go ahead with this stage. If you and/or your partner have Indefinite leave to remain or British citizenship by naturalisation, you will have to follow the guidelines on the government website depending on your condition.

If I got you right, you want to skip the birth registration and certificate process of your baby to apply for British passport?
I don’t think the application can be processed without birth registration certificate.
You need to Google, FormT and MN1 on the UK government website. Read about both forms for registration to know which one best applies to your baby’s situation.
Then complete the registration form and submit it. On the government website, you will see both free and paid immigration lawyer support if you need it. If you need fee-waiver, you can follow the instructions and apply for it.
You can also call the government phone number on the website to know which decision best suits you.
You have to complete the birth registration and provide the supporting documents required and then the government has to approve it before you apply for your baby’s British passport.

It depends on your circumstances. If the parent is a British citizen, then all you need to do is get your child’s birth registration document from the council and apply for his/her British passport.
However, if the parents have indefinite leave to remain, you need to do a birth registration and certificate on the government website. Please to go to the government website and complete an MN1 or a FormT depending on your circumstances. Read about the two forms to be sure which one is best for you. If you are confused, contact the government phone number on the website.
When the birth registration and certificate has been prepared and approved, then you can apply for a British Passport.

You have to put in an application for your twins and they have to be in the UK when you do so.
It depends on whether your husband is British by birth or by naturalisation.
If your husband is British by birth, your twins will be British automatically. Therefore you can apply for British passport.
However, if your husband is British by another means, you will have to apply for your twins to be British citizens first. Once that has been approved then you can apply for their first British passport.

It was the first time applying for my baby.
I mean how long did it take for you to get the passport?
@@yushind2156 It took 16 days after I sent the supporting documents via post for the British passport to arrive to my home.
It took 28 days from the date I submitted my baby’s application.
Remember that it took a while for the confirmation of identity and for me to submit my supporting documents through post.

This depends on your circumstances. The right supporting documents you should send will be indicated on the online portal after you must have completed the application.
In my case, they were birth certificates of my child and husband. I sent original certificates.
I would suggest that you contact the government about your missing birth certificate and find out whether they would accept photocopies if you have any.

If you have a photocopy of the birth certificate and remember the county/council where you did the registration, contact them. They are in the best position to better inform you. They can provide you with reprints.

I was not asked those questions when I filled the application. If the naturalisation of your baby is through baby’s grandparents then it is understandable why they would want that.
I suggest you ask baby’s grandparents to ask for another birth certificate. You can ask for birth records in the UK. Contact your local authority in the county of birth and they could assist you.
You can also contact the government through their website for further advice on what to do.
