It's so horrible, don't expose him to this forbidden knowledge. Some people never recover their sanity after trying to learn gender language rules. And trust me, Drew doesn't need more damage to his mental health.

Not true, the first tricolor flag was used in the Netherlands, when the Dutch rose up against Spanish rule in the eighty years war. The French tricolor has only been in use since the French Revolution, over 200 years later.
Edit: It's true they are the first with vertical stripes, but they don't have the first tricolor. The goal of the French revolution was to establish a republic, the republic of the Netherlands had been around for about 200 years at that point, and shared similar values as the French. So the French took inspiration from the Dutch flag with their tricolor, because of this the tricolor became associated with the idea of republicanism for quite some time.

You might not know this, but here in West Sumatera, there used to be a kingdom here called Pagaruyung (c. 14th century - 1825) with tricolor flag, the flag is Germany but vertical, or Belgium. The color order isn't matter, it only depends on from which county (the 3 highlands) your ancestors are.

I know ''gendered'' language seems weird to people who have neutral languages but the thing is, it doesn't really have anything to do with Masculinity or Feminity, it's just about which pronoun sounds better. So who decides this stuff is our ears basically. You don't really ever really need to learn which word is which ''gender'', just saying it out loud with both pronouns is almost always enough to know which one sounds right. There are some really weird exceptions out there though, at least in french.

@@aniusers No, it's the gender of the word itself. For example, you say the united states in english or the Netherlands. In english 'the' is only used for names that are plural. In French country names that are singular also have 'the'. English only has one word for 'the', but French has 3: le (for masculine words) la (for feminine words) and les (plural) so that's why there has to be a distincion between masculine and feminine, so you know which form of 'the' you need to use

@@aniusers No, it has nothing to do with that. Every single noun in french has a determined gender. That includes things such as a plane (female) and a desk (male). There is no logic to determine which gender, you just got to know them by choosing the one that "sounds better". By the way, Fatherland is a female word in french (yes it's that dumb).
And it happens in pretty much every romance language, Spanish and Portuguese also don't have neutral pronoums for objects, so every single noun is either masculine or feminine

Many languages have genders though. In italian "computer" (yes we use the english word because we are to lazy to invent a new one) is masculine while "fatherland" is feminine

It's very likely that Disney use vote bots and pays critics to get good reviews so as bad as it seems those numbers could be even worse ,back then they didn't put as much money into the movie and the stakes where lower as now the remake have higher budget and bigger targets
