3:28 Those are the Canary Islands, they didn’t build any there. It’s that color because the islands are a part of Spain
I find him so dumb yet I still watch
Was going to say that
You saved me writing time lol
Omg whats going on drew...
Gracias jajajajaja
The islands are part of Spain and are the same color as Spain
Yeah that annoyed me when he said that
Drew is not really "good" in history or geography xD
Thats what happends when your knowledge only comes from videogames
@@guilhermeneto5422 It's the map creators fault for not clarifying, I dont think it's common knowledge Spain still has some islands it colonised years and years ago
@@iDunnoMC Yes it is
@@iDunnoMC
How is the map creators fault?
What do you think the subtitle should be?
"(Be careful, these islands are a part of spain)"
What's next? "The map is not in the real scale"? 😂
12:06 french being red and English being blue hurts my brain
Its confusing
That’s a pfp if I’ve ever seen a pfp
As a person English this hurts my brain
As a french communist, it's ok for me
@m n lol coalition of far left with communist inside make 20% at 2017 presidential elections
3:26 those islands are part of Spain
There calles canary islands
Normal people: Measure population in numbers
Americans: Population distribution of China in units of USAs
Well, that's freedom units isn't it ?
a USA is a legitimate measuring unit, it's equal to 328,2 million.
Naebulys
If freedom is curupt of course
"Americans will measure in anything BUT the metric system"
I'm confusedv
Drew not knowing what mother tongue means is the most American thing I've ever seen.
They call it native language, so what's so bad about it?
Well he is an Alabama Man.
Lol
On the Roman map those red islands near Morocco are part of Spain. That’s why there red.
They are the Canary Islands
@@deskeptik657 But Drew is dum-dum.
if they did have that many amphitheatres then the entirety of the islands would be amphitheater
@@aurorusidk True
It's common sense that they are part of Morocco. But we don't care about those .I don't think they were really part of our history.
3:27 the island is part of Spain but the romans never conolize it
Jaime Hernandez Garcia they knew about it
@@mlgdigimon Yes; in fact, the Romans named them. Oddly enough, the Canary Islands were not named after the yellow birds (the birds were instead named after the islands). Instead they were named after the local wild dogs; the Latin word for dog is "canus".
yeah well we all know that americans dont know shit about geographie outside of murica...
besides that drew isnt really the sharpest tool in the shed.

I asked my mom what country has the longest border with France and she said England smh
Bruh 💀
Well technically before Napoleon sold the French territory to USA, England and France shared a LOT of border.
Also in Africa, they both had a lot of colony.
@@camsimed i don't want to sound annoying but it's more the United Kingdom than England..
Sea borders?

Drew doesn't know who owns the canary Islands, as expected :P
Or that you don't need to revoke your citizenship to get another in France or Spain
I do appreciate him knowing what Nordic means, though.
He didn't know who jeff bezos is
@@manel14gf and Warren Buffett and Bloomberg. He must be trolling or something.
I think mother tongue is basically the language you learn from your parents at home before you go to school (basically)
I mean it basically means the exact same as native tongue
It is an accent of the native language. In Mexico you will have a different mother’s tongue than in Spain even though it is the same language.
I almost had an stroke watching him not knowing what mother tongue means, like wtf???
US average people are so never exposed to foreign langages that they bearly have no need to know such concepts...
@@Adrienmon This is so scary, how can people from a developed country be so ignorant?
France shares its longest border with BRAZIL!?
Learn something new everyday huh
France and the netherlands also share a border, in the caribbean.
the longest border could also be with australia if you count the antarctica claim of both country.
UnTwoSan but nobody counts antarctic claims because they are not recognized.
@Lokz gic actually its not the same i read that citizens in Hawaii dont have the right to participate in the presidential election
While French guinna citizens have always participated in the French president election
@King George V Suriname isn't in the Carribean
That moment Where Drew doesn’t know that Spain owns the Canary Islands hence why it was red.
3:31 :(, those islands are the canary islands, and yes they are real, in fact, I live in one of them.

5:01 actually the ottomans wrote Arabic at that time because 1700s the Ottomans invaded suadia Arabia or as the Fatimah Cailphate but failed 200 years later the Ottomans successfully invaded some of Saudia Arabia's Territory
Ottoman sultan selim invaded memluks, and they got the caliphate and nowadays egypt, israel, palestine, syria, lebanon and part of saudi Arabia. Then sultan Süleyman took the baghdad and nowadays ıraq and kuwait

6:24 Switzerland doesn’t actually have a capitol. Berne is just the capitol city of the largest of the 13 Swiss cantons
They only have a “capitol” to be a part of the UN

Mother tongue means in finnish: Äidinkieli which is the name for the language you speak in your family/regionally. It means that if your in a province that is regonized in that map as swedish, it means its recognised as a bigger minority language. It also means that the trafficsigns have been in put into swedish, below the finnish
As someone who left Illinois, I lived in the southern part and the entire state policies were based around Chicago, making multiple hinderances for rural towns.

Russia and the United are so close but still....so far😭

Switzerland doesn't have a lot of people in their capital because their capital is Bern and not Geneva or Zürich. It would be a similar situation with Australia where a lot of people live in Melbourne and Sydney, but only a tiny amount of people live in the actual capital, Canberra.
Just turned the video on.

@@juliloafers L'Empereur is immortal.
@Abel Schröder Well yes, Empereur is a title, it never dies, and Napoléon is the dinasty name, just like Louis, Edward, Henry and as it goes.
So yes, technically speaking it's immortal. Even more so that there is a Napoléon today, Napoléon VII.

14:18 NICE looks like 4 out of 5 of the oldest companys in germany are brewerys.
The list of oldest companies is heavily dominated by breweries, vinyards, pubs, and hotels, with Japan also having lots of specialist construction companies that build wooden temples. Probably because they make products that have not really changed much in a thousand years. Most other businesses from the middle ages have become obsolete over the centuries.
They are also mostly Japanese, or German, Austrian, Swiss, and Dutch, as these two cultures have traditions of keeping records of ownership for very long times.
There are probably countless of farms all over the world that have been owned by the same family for thousands of years, but they don't have any records of that.
@@Yora21 Egyptian priests actually kept track of their family history for more than 3000 years until the Romans came. It must be awesome to see the face (trough paintings and sculptures) and know the history of your bazilliongrandparents.

6:10: It is called the Federal Republic of Germany as it is a federation of some smaller states. As an US American you should know what that means. Same goes for the Swiss Confederation in which the cantons are even more independant. In federated countries, there is a very weak central power than in centralised countries like France, Spain or Britain. And like Germany, Italy was a patchwork of a lot of microstates until the 1860s. See that at 7:21. That is why the population is so much spread over the country.

I have noticed that many people seem to think France to be lying west of Germany, sharing common latitudes.
Actually France shares a longer border with Spain and Italy than with Germany, but also more common latitude with Italy than with Germany. Only the 1/3 northernmost part of France share the same latitudes as southern Germany, while the 2/3 of France share common latitudes with northern and central Italy. Berlin is further to the north than any part of France, while Rome is lined with Ajaccio.

Christopher Columbus didn't think the Earth was smaller, he thought Asia was larger, thus closer to Europe.
The Ireland one is because when the British came there was Anglo-Irish Norman's who spread out throughout the country, the british were pushed back into Dublin county and the actual irish people lived in the west, today the biggest city is dublin and has been the most populated for so long, most of the population is living in Dublin city and the rest is green because there is high agricultural demand and rates, mainly potato farming while Dublin City is industrialized
