When I make shit I do the same as you, I just sit down and fuck around with my material and once I see something I like I go in that direction. I think it's the most fun, just exploring and being surprised by the results.

Maybe check the resolution? Could be that it got pixelated, sometimes those leave a darkish cast

you see, this is weird. cause i have a terrible attention span and i usually can't even focus on a 10 minute tutorial. but this one i sat through it all without getting bored! i don't know what is it exactly but good job! also your process of just getting in there and experiment is pretty much like mine! except i'm not a professional lol. At 3:51 when you have to stretch the layer, for me it doesnt let me stretch one way (vertical) it stretches both ways instead. How do i fix this so it only stretches vertical?
You may need to hold down shift so it doesn’t transform uniformly!

I have no idea tbh, but do you have access to Lightroom at all? It has all the same tools near identical. The mobile app version of Lightroom is amazing too!
