Dogumentary TV has teamed up with Oscar Mora of Elevated Canine Academy to bring you Dog Training Fundamentals. This series is an introduction series into dog trainin and basic obediene. In lesson three, Oscar goes over the technique of luring and luring your dog into a position. Positions likek sit, down, and into the heeling position. - Домашні улюбленці та дикі тварини
I love it that you bring out different dogs with different levels of training. That really helps bringing out a beginner to see how they react differently.
There is something very relaxing and rewarding watching great dog trainers at work - does any one else feel that way?
Great training. I've been training my Doberman since she was 3 months old. She's now over 1 year. She's very smart and obedient.
they are smart and scary
@@WingManWasTaken smart but not scary.
when do you start training a dobbie?
talkingtothedead says thank you, i’m disabled and i’ve been watching you and teaching my dog to be assistance dog and his doing fab because of your videos so a massive THANK YOU
Please please make more of these awesome, simple and easy to follow dog training tutorials. They help SOOOO MUCH. I volunteer at an animal shelter and use there A LOT to teach our dogs these commands 🙏🙏🙏💜
I used luring to teach my Boerboel puppy "down" it was very effective.
These videos are very helpful. I'm so glad I have found them. I have an 8 week old German Shepherd DDR line. I've been able to take the simple instructions and visuals that these videos provide and begin applying them to my dog. He loves doing the training exercises and we've only been at them for 5 days. Most importantly, they work. Thank you.
more Doberman videos please. I don’t see many people on UA-cam training dobies
The same steps apply to any breed of dog.
Loving this series and the use of different breeds including powerful breeds.
I have watched what you have posted in this series a couple of times. I had to get my head trained on the markers . It made it work much smoother with my girl. My hand and mouth were saying different things. Huge difference! Thank you Oscar , great video’s
PATRICIA STANLEY you train your Girlfriend?
Best series I found yet... Thanks Elevated
Glad you enjoyed it!
Look at that smile!!!💕💕💕 what a handsome pup!
Please offer closed captions so the deaf and hard of hearing may enjoy your videos also. Thank you.
No...shutup and listen
@@randononsense6369 that's like telling someone who's visually impaired to shut up and watch the video....
Yes! I agree. Deaf and Hard of Hearing people deserve access to the same information.
“Yes” “yes” “yes” “good boy”
@@rebeccamouse9294 no one said otherwise but maybe you can add subtitles to this video since you are highly motivated to help other people. What about that?
Bear is gorgeous.
Beautiful flowers in the background! Just love these training ideas!
Thanks for the training help! Would love to see more videos like this!
Terrific training video! Thanks for sharing!
Love these training videos. Excellent job. I wish i had access to these when i needed them. Keep it up guys
These are great! I'm a new dog owner and I've watched a lot of videos. These are my favorite!
This is actually really helpful...I'm going to receive my puppy soon and I want it to be make sure he does what I ask him to do and not be a sneaky dog.
Love how you use experiences versus none experience dogs. Great videos ty
Another great video from DTV. I was actually very interested in the fact that a Doberman was used in the video because I have experience with the breed and have never used this technique when training Dobermans. I typically find that most Dobermans want to please their handler/owner and that a combination of play and praise are the only motivation that they need.
Revisiting this video after binging michael ellis vids, i can really see his influence on your style of training. Great video!
Such beautiful dogs . . . that Doberman is just flawless
I saw that last two lessons it's so easy and effective. Good presentation keep it going
Anyone else peep those jakaranda trees? Beautiful purple flowers!
I just found my a dream channel for my 1.5 year old boerboel. Awesome stuffs, keep up the good work😀
Love these videos! Has helped a lot with my aussie heeler mix!
Thank you, these videos have helped me so much with my rescue dog.
bro great video. love how your initial demonstration is with an experienced dog, then you transition to the inexperienced dog.
Great video, thanks for the tips.. I will certainly watch the whole series.
Excellent presentation...
Superb tips and quality collaboration. Thank you Oscar and Zeke.
I have had dachshunds and luring is the only way I could get a down. I didn’t need a big treat but with a low dog that had a nose and extremely food motivated it was the only way. Hand signals with a single piece of kibble was enough.
I have added stop and platz as important commands. Stop arrests all movement and platz is a complete down. It wasn’t a lure but it was a reward. They were super emotional rewards. The luring allowed the next stage.

Looking forward to seeing you work with new puppy Roscoe.
Aweosme videos, training and changing up the dog is an awesome touch
How long do you think you should focus on the essentials in Lesson 1+2 (how many weeks?) before you move to Lesson 3? - I don't have a dog yet but I want to learn a bit already :)
I would just make sure he understands them throroughly, but as soon as you notice its too easy for him then move on to lesson 3. It really depends on your dog how long it takes for him to really learn these.
Probably 3 days, if you do it everytime you feed your dog, you bet it is going to work. And you're going to feel, when the dog learned the behaviour. But it doesnt mean you never do it again, but you can go further
Did you got the dog? Realize now it its 4 years now
That is a handsome bully ❤️
great stuff keep it coming
Damn so many pro tips!! Thanks guys!!
Could you please explain how the sessions should be done like how long and often? Anglo AWESOME content you guys are putting out here keep up the work
Gorgeous trees
I love the Westbrook shoes
I really appreciate your skills thank you for having this video it will really help me to train my safe Bernard puppies
I have a deaf dog and im glad i might him because i finely know what i want to go to school for i would like to follow in your foot steps
I am a pretty good trainer; at least with all my past dogs, and others have asked me to help them with their dogs (Eskies, Rotties, Dobermans, German Shepherds, Pit Bulls, blue tick hound etc.) Even volunteer trained at a German Shepherd kennel with Shutzhund trained dogs. I've always had very high success training. My new puppy is a Yakutian Laika. She is the oldest puppy I've ever gotten. She was 12 weeks and 2 days when I flew from Seattle to Dallas and back in 1 day. I let her acclimate the first 2.5 days. Just teaching her her name, and to go outside to potty. Then started with little 5-10 min training sessions throughout the day. She is incredibly smart, she learned sit an a few minutes with ASL sign, and after day 1 she was bored, I added a verbal cue, a month in she's reliable indoors but not outdoors. She will do down, stand, off, most of the time leave it and drop it. Heel is a work in progress but she will do beautifully if you go at a very fast brisk walk. Come is also about 50/50. Forget any of it with distractions outdoors. She is a socialite and just wants to say hi to everyone and every dog. I just started using some German Commands too. She is learning the game of fetch quite well. Brings it right back about 80% now.
However, I've never; in my entire life, seen a dog this stubborn, not even huskies. It's part of the breed, if they don't wanna they put the breaks on so you constantly are redirecting to get them to do as asked. My husband just won't use the right words, or hand signals, and that's incredibly frustrating because consistency is everything!. She is incredibly bonded to me in just 1 month and a week, follows me everywhere! Wakes from naps and follows me to next room etc. (more about that in a minute). I take her everywhere with me, she meets dogs on walks a lot, but her only real play sessions were with a 7yr old Mastiff, and a 3 yr old Doberman with his sibling a 2.5 yr old Rottweiler. I hate off leash parks, and people are poisoning dogs in our area at them or bringing in fight dogs to seriously mame the dogs and sometimes kill them. So with Covid it's been extremely hard finding puppy play time. FYI I use baked organic chicken breast and some baked organ meat cut up into small tidbits for her treats, she spit out everything else. She was under weight when I got her home and gained nearly a full pound in 2 days, clearly her litter mates were eating all the food. She isn't a gobbler, she's a grazer, eats a little, plays a little, eats a little more etc. In the 5 weeks I've had her she has doubled in size going from 9lbs4oz to 17.5lbs. Vet says she's incredibly healthy. She's losing teeth and adult ones are coming in. She is now almost 17.5 weeks old.
My questions are:
1. I'm having a really hard time getting her to understand stay and her release she just sits there still, no matter what I try. I've never had issues before, but she's very spontaneous and refuses to "want to do it" so far. I've seen your videos as well as others, but those techniques haven't worked at all in a week of trying 8 mini sessions (10 min each) every day. Any other advice or tips would be helpful.
2. Constantly biting the leash, I've made it very very boring, not doing anything, turning my back, walking the other way.....still biting the leash. So ideas with that would be appreciated as well.
3. I know some dogs like to mouth, I know you can't change instinct from what they were bred to do. Her breed was bred to be sled dogs in -57F temps, herd reindeer, hunt, and be part of the Native Siberian Yakuts family and constant companion. I have her on a leash, I've begun harness training with a Wonder Walker front clip, she is fine wearing it until she tries to pull then she bites the front strap ( any tighter I couldn't get a finger under it) and the leash frantically, jumping and really freaking out. If she walks too far behind you she nips at your calves or shoes. She does pull a lot on leash, even after a 15-20 min game of fetch before her walk. Her biting has drawn blood twice on me, so I began "No Bite" and if she bites too hard I'll put a drop of apple cider vinegar in her mouth. That part is getting better, but she bites at her brush incessantly, I treat her when she isn't biting during a grooming/brushing session but it's non-stop. She lets me brush her teeth, wipe her ears, and wipe her pads off but will bite at the wipe sometimes. Any advice besides patience and time?
4. Potty training nightmare! When we brought her home she had bloody diarrhea for 4 days, she passed pine chip bedding she was eating at the breeders, breeder had her on very hard core worming meds as well. I've still never seen a 3 month old puppy walk into their crate and defecate and then lay down in it. We live on the 3rd floor of an apt with elevator access, so against my best wishes we are also using pee pads. Still she'll walk into her crate and poo or pee. I made the mistake of yelling NO! after the first week of her here and now she does not want to be in her crate at all. I have coaxed her with treats, I have given her Kongs full of nummies and chew toys, she has water also, but even if I'm sitting at the door, as soon as I close it, she's screaming bloody murder, biting at the wire, pawing at it, jumping around, and this does not stop, only escalates, at first I tried 5min. waited in between screeches to open door again, I've tried 5min -30min. It still gets louder and louder. She has only slept in her crate 5x now. I thought she had quit with the accidents in her crate until 2 days ago she went pee again and again 3x during one day in her crate. Any advice?
I will take her out, she'll go both, I'll walk her etc. she'll go again. As soon as we walk in the door, she goes in the house again within 5 min. She does go to the door now to go out, but sometimes she refuses to go to the bathroom and will just sit there outside (on leash) no matter how much coaxing you do. After 30 min of this, back in the house and she'll pee or poo again. It's almost like she's marking her territory.
Any and all help would be appreciated. Thank you.
Could you do a video on how to get giant breeds to not jump. I have a 6 month old 100 pound saint Bernard. He is well trained in a lot of things, but he still jumps up when excited.
Make his ass sit and wait until he is fully calmed b4 letting him say hi to ppl and or dogs .. the more u do it the more he will understand what is being asked of him ..reward only when he is completely relaxed..also try using ppl with stable energy, no high pitch voices and or too high energy, that will only get him excited. .exercise him abit b4 training it will help...and address it asap bcuz that puppy is only going to get bigger and it wont be pretty when hes full grown and still jumping on ppl..my humble two cents
Hey! I know I'm not Canine Academy but I'm raising a cane corso right now - 125lbs and 13 months, had him since he was 8 weeks, and here's the truth: they'll mostly grow out of it as long as you dont actively make it rewarding to jump on you. It takes a lot of muscle to move 100-200lbs up into the air like that, and especially after the puppy energy goes down.... why bother? Keep in mind that there's not a lot of good overnight fixes for jumping. It's a very natural behavior and dogs naturally want to greet you at your face, so keep that in mind. *It's just time and consistency*
There's a couple things I did! My boy barely jumps now (only if i ask him to or if someone is teasing him with something, which again, is puppy-ness) 1. If he's jumping on you on walks, step on the leash so he immediately gets jerked back onto the ground.
2. If he's jumping to greet new people, tell them to turn away and ignore him if he jumps till all 4 paws are on the ground.
3. If he's jumping on YOU off-leash, you can either do as stated above (may take longer), OR A.)keep him umbillical-tied to you on a leash around the house and leash-step when necessary, B.) knee him when he jumps. I mean, don't seriously hurt him, but make it clear that you aren't putting up with that any more. C.) crowd into his space right back it him, intimidatingly. just keep walking into his side. It makes him uncomfortable right back. I wouldnt suggest strangers do this, especially if he was full grown or dominant, but if you're his handler and he's a puppy, he'll get the message.
4. It might actually be useful to teach him how to jump up on you... in order to teach him a word on how to get OFF of you. Just like how you can train a dog "quiet" by training him to "speak". As stated above, it's a really natural and often rewarding behavior for dogs, so perhaps giving him an outlet, and teaching him that there **IS ABSOLUTELY A RIGHT TIME FOR JUMPING, BUT ONLY WHEN I ASK FOR IT** might yield some good results... It worked in conjunction with the other tactics for me, and also gives me a good pose for pictures. :P
ALL OF THIS ASIDE, like I said before, as long as you're working on it, he'll grow out of it in time. It seems like you're doing all the right stuff already... but EVERY 6 MONTH OLD PUPPY JUMPS. It just sucks when you know that they could do some serious damage accidentally :')
When he jumps stick your knee out. It sounds mean but he wont jump again
Just completely ignore him if he jumps, u can also turn and give him ur back or butt, dont look at him, dont touch him.... then when his 4 legs are on the ground and relaxed, u go into him and and finally say hi, so he understand thats the way (being relaxed and on the ground) of greet someone.
I had same issue with my dog, he always jump on my girlfriend cause she keeps exciting and greeting him when he jumps on her, but since I ignore him when he do that, he comes to me relaxed and never jump on me.
When your dog doesn't want to behavior just ignore them and give them a treat when they do a good behavior
Hi. Could you please make a video on luring for sport dogs? I do not intent right now on competition but I like the fast And precise way the dogs responds. Feels like a strong bond with their humans.
Helpful thanks
thanx for this video. good jobs
Great info on lurring
This is perfect!
Another good one!
I love bull's cause they big and you can give em that, nice lil tap when you pet them😭😭🔥🔥🔥
That is the best looking Doberman that I have ever seen.
Totally loved it, Could you also show us how you train dogs that are not food motivated?
More mini pins ! ❤💜 🐕
These videos are super helpful!! How long do these sessions usually go with the dogs?
I got ahead with my dog's training after reading Found out how to stop my dog from jumping on people. Learned that you quick turn your back on the dog when they jump and leave the room through the door. When dog finally stops jumping you give him a treat.
This is the best thing ever
Good video!
Good job
nice one, subscribed..keep'em comin
First of all im grateful for these fundamentals, we just adopted an older dog that already had some training but we are starting from the fundamentals with her, one question though are there some tricks to teach her how to stay in the position with the ‘good’ command?
She immediately breaks the position by standing up while being focussed on me but i want her to stay seated/ laying down
The unleveled fence bothers me. LOL great training vid
Amazing!!!! Is there a canine academy in the Uk??
what kind of food you are using? specifically. Thanks for the video.
These videos are gold. I want a cane corso so bad. Also don’t want her to tear up my house lol
9:00 just like a relationship, after. a while you ask for a little more to "go all the way down" haha
excellent! thank you so much!
Nice onE video,....
How long should each training session last and how many times a day/week??
Pls upload all lessons example guard training, bite ,eat , don't eat, catch,
Make a video on cropping dogs ears, docking their tail and cutting off their dew claws
That’s a vets job not a dog trainer
@@bheypuor Exactly, but he could do a live video to get people's opinions and get a debate going.
David B why should he that’s not his job. He is helping people train their dogs not bring up controversial topics. If you want to stir things up go somewhere else. I appreciate these videos. I have schnauzers and these videos are a tremendous help.
@@bheypuor I do understand that. But, he sometimes tackles some topics that people don't agree with. I also appreciate all of Zeke's videos. Debate helps some people (not all) understand other peoples point of view. Also, can change a person's opinion if the debate is healthy.
@@bheypuor Also, I don't believe Isabel was targeting this trainer as the person giving his opinion. I am sure Zeke could find a good Vet or professional that could talk on that subject.
Understand that my response is not to spark argument or offend anyone.
Can you do a video comparing the pros and cons of training with food? I grew up around dog training and was always told to avoid using food, but I notice everyone does it these days and it seems to work just fine. I would love a non-judgy source to help me learn how to develop my practice effectively with some good data
Ryann Carter ryann excelent question. I will try and cover it on the next training video!
Yo man love your videos, how long is one session?
“Make a believer out of the dog”. Exactly.
Those are tight shoes man
What if the dog jumps and play while sit or down command
For how long should a training session last?
How often should these training sessions take place
What kind of leash are you using on Bear? Would like to buy one!
How exactly do we fade the lure?
Can I start training my 2 month old Great Dane pup the fundamentals?
Zeke bring back training videos!
how long should a session be? how many minutes a session, how many times a day is good?
Does it work for making him stand to one of my side?
How do we fade the lure?
Oscar I have a 3 month old male cane corso how can I get him to stay in his crate without crying every night
At what point in the learning do you stop giving treats after every command? I have a new puppy and am curious about when to start taking them off of the treats everytime they listen.
How soon do you remove the treat so they aren't dependent of the reward?
What lead/leash are you using?
ASTCD PLEASE.
Thank you so much for this lesson! I'm so thankful I found you. I'm at the Frustrated and recent full stage after giving my husband an Australian shepherd 6 months ago.
He is an absolute handful yet a DREAM when he's in training mode.
But he always wants to be in training or work mode. I just can't do it 24/7 alone.
Your videos and tips are very clear, informative and broke into the perfect size for the layman
Hey just a question do yo always train with the leash on or is a progression ?
So Oscar uses @good@ as a continuation marker and @yes@ as a termination marker but he also said ok @to relase the dog@ in his words. Is there a difference between ok and yes in this case?
do you do private training?
Whoever mixed the Shar Pei Cocker deserves jail time. So unethical it's mindblowing.
Really similar to clear signal training
Can anyone send me a link on where to buy a leash similar to the one King the American Bulldog was on?
What do I do if I got my puppy used to hand signals and doesn’t know the word? He will do what my hand wants but nothing if I don’t signal. He’s a 3month old Belgium Malinois German Shepard mix. Thank you 🙏🏾
