fr. found this channel the other day when i was looking for videos on not fapping for motivation and stumbled upon this guy. I'm hooked, this dude is the goat
I keep a slim leather rfid blocking fossil wallet, a gerber impromptu pen, my keys, my phone, a bluetooth neckband earphone, and a sog sync multitool that acts as a belt buckle for my on person carry. Never needed anything more. I found my phones flashlight is plenty in a pinch. Lighter, charging cables, multitool, etc are kept in my backpack that usually stays in my vehicle.
I put the two keys on my RAW wallet which is basically an Infinity wallet with a tiny keychain loop. You should try it! It's a blessing to be able to quickly grab one thing and not forget the other.
That's like mine. Who needs to carry so much stuff. My exception is a Gerber Dime mini multi-tool. I find I need to use what's in it all the time. It's better than needing to go get my tool box every time I need a tool. If your wallet works for you, great. I like the feel of soft leather. My wallet is slim. Not every leather is thick. I need a place not only for cards but for bills and change as well. That's the only reason I don't go with a smaller one. I think I've whittled my EDC down to bare bones for my scenario.
Great vid. Phone. Wallet. All my locks are keypad....and I dont even own ear buds. Not judging, but I prefer to listen to the sounds of the city, the sounds of the Subway, the banter at the gym... And I want to engage people, inviting them to approach.
Yes, I mentioned in the description I don't need the earphones or even phone sometimes, but we are quite different social animals. I prefer to be left alone and get bothered when approached unless in a social environment.
The Buon Life Actually I live just outside NYC and visit frequently and I just love the chatter and energetic buzz of its wonderful people, traffic, etc. It's music to my ears. To each his own :)
Omg I hate the sounds of the city! It's even bad here in Brooklyn! Today for instance there was kids outside playing all day and motorcycles, and general commotion. Woke me up rough and then it proceeded to get louder as the day went on! I could not nap later either as well as work.
Great idea to minimize your wallet! "I'm always in awe that they just are okay with carrying around this much stuff and just being weighed down by it and all that stuff. I find it just crazy." I minimized my wallet and it feels great! Keep up the great work!
In Switzerland most prople carry a penknife. Do you know how many uses a good Swiss penknife has. Maybe you would be surprised and learn a thing or two.
I used to carry a diaper bag full of stuff, now it’s my Secrid wallet, keys, iPhone, 1 diaper, tiny wipe case and credit card sized urban emergency kit. So freeing!
My EDC looks very similar: keys, wallet, smartphone. The only additional thing I carry on a regular basis is my Kindle Paperwhite (not a fan of reading on my phone except for Pocket). New subscriber by the way. Really enjoying the channel.
I wish more merchants would adopt Apple Pay/electronic payment options, then I could just carry phone. And I love my Apple AirPods . I can have just 1 in a ear... I know a few military tactical guys who insist on carrying a whole kit day to day, but for me I’ve made it this far in life (in multiple cities) and have been okay, so bare bones is typically what I do
I've got about the same edc here just phone (iphone8), wallet (Jaimie Jacbos Flapboy Slim), watch (seiko skx007), Fitness tracker (Xiaomi miband2), hair ties (got a manbun), and when im out my keys and standard apple earphones (soon to be replaced by jaybird x3).
Fair question. Unfortunately Its because I've got the kind of ears not compatible with the apple earphone design. They just don't work for me, because after anything more than 5-10 minutes, they begin to hurt my ears and it feels like a relieve to remove them from my ears. I recently bought the phone, so I was like, lets try them once more, but no... still doesn't work for me.
If I were you, I would add a quality pen to your EDC. You've got a cool minimalistic carry though! I carry a phone, recycled firefighter wallet, orbitkey, arktype pmk, two knives, multitool, wristwatch, fitbit, two notebooks and a pen. Thats the great thing about EDC, we all work in different jobs and live in different areas around the world, thus need different kind of gear to make it through the day.
Very nice simple EDC. The only thing beyond these items are a knife. I find myself in situations everyday where I need a knife so I carry one. Keeps things simple.
Hello I'm a cyber security professional. I can certainly answer your question. I personally wouldn't worry too much. It is very unlikely to happen. Possible, but unlikely. And the fix is to just make sure you let your bank know about the suspect charges, get a new card and viola. There is only one exception. Hacker conventions. You are likely to experience this attack primarily in a hacker convention. What you should be worried about is your phone. In both day to day activities and hacker conventions. Phones are way more vulnerable, to way more attacks, that are way more common, that aren't as easy to do damage control on.
Pixel 2 xl is such a good phone, and the pixel 2 has all the same hardware besides the screen and battery if you are looking for a midrange for only 600$ can't beat it
Nice, i like this, im buying a pixel 2 by the end of this year and hopefully ill go down this same path as you? My big wallet always buggs me, my earphones always break and i have too much on my keychain.
I looked into it, but here in New York, more than half the places are cash only (which I hate and it's crazy but how it is) so it was too much h a hassle.
Great video sir finally a common sense EDC so much EDC nonsense on UA-cam you watch some of these videos and you just can't help but laugh keep up the good!!!
I've been wanting an Infinity Wallet ever since you made that first video about it, but do you know how much it costs here in Canada on Canadian Amazon? $54.89!!! (vs. $12.99 on amazon.com) If I ordered it directly from the manufacturer's website, after conversion rate, taxes, and international shipping fee, it would still be way overpriced for what it is. So sad.
megagene If leather isn’t a problem for you, check out Popov Leather from BC. They make wallets and other leather goods of phenomenal quality. Be well fellow Canuck
megagene Jeff actually reviewed one about a year ago. He actually tried to destroy it and couldn’t. Look back in his vid history to watch it. It’s worth your time.
Keys, wallet, phone, nose spray (can't breathe at all without it). I didn't know I was a minimalist! *looks at the 417 random things on my desk* Nevermind.
I couldn't find what a keysmart nano is. I found some Swiss army thing for keys but idk how that would help a wallet or keys not slip out. Also how to clip it to a wallet?
I don’t know what’s worse in the comment section: the people who think knives are for psychopaths or the psychopaths that demand that you carry a knife.
Hey now on my iPad! I am happy with the progress I’ve made, uninstalling UA-cam on my phone kinda permanently! BTW great video.. Keep up the great work!
"what else would you need, I don't understand" well when I go to the shop close by I don't take much just a plastic bag, phone and wallet. but when I go elsewhere, so the majority of the time I go out, I always bring a bag full of stuff; wallet, vapes, hand sanitiser, pen, chewing gum, water bottle, another wallet that has all my loyalty cards and a trolley token, spare shopping bag, deodorant, tissues, tablets, and maybe something to eat. I don't need to take it all with me when I go out, however I do need somewhere for my bottle and vapes, so it's just easier to bring it all
Nah, it's a must for me. My lips always have to stay kissable. Thanks for sharing your EDC. As a woman, it's hard to find a practical one and I think that I work with this.
I've never for Google pay to work. Also, I have to use a security password or finger print to open my phone if I use gpay. I really hate that. I like the phone turning on with just pressing the button, not entering and security password or swipe. As far as the knife goes, I have recently added one. However, they are extremely illegal here in NYC if caught with one.
Well, I carry a multi-tool, along with other things, because I never know when I will need it. Why more people don't carry multi-tools is beyond me. They are handy and can save your ass in a lot of different ways.
All these EDC dumps and no one carries condoms. I've been laid way more than I've had to defend myself. Shake my head. Protect yourself before you wreck yourself
I feel it would be dangerous to be in public in any city / country with noise canceling / isloating earbuds. Seems like a self inflicted handicap that reduces situational awareness. I don’t think I would cross any street with both of my ear canals purposely blocked and being filled with audio. Maybe a single ear at a time or non isolating earbuds.
Even sound deadening earplugs are designed to here the world around you just with a certain (and measurable as well as listed) amount of db reduction. If your music is more audible than the environment that would be on the wearers fault, not the fact that headphones or music is imparing the situation.
Hey, Buon! You should not reveal your *real* keys on youtube, because the information might help attackers forge copies and rob you without any sign, ninja style.
OMG you answered me thank you so much, im a bussines administrator but i hate to have my personal stuff in the office computer so i use my drive to carry personal files the books that im reading music and the file of the book im writing because i am also a writer God bless you make my day and i love your channel...
Pixel 2 goes on sale more than any phone. I got mine for 125$ in December. Card holder cost me 20 something on a sale. Earbuds are tech... No way around that. Unsless you go cheap... But for me something like that is a "buy once, cry once" type of thing. It's not minimalism that costs, it's poor shopping habits. Minimalism in fact actually proves to save money. For example, since I feel I don't NEED anyTHING, I am happy to wait months for a sale or price drop! Which is what I did for my phone for example.
I sometimes have a handkerchief, example if I'm sick, but not always. If I have a random sneeze, I sneeze into the elbow like everyone else. Not sure how often you sneeze but I don't sneeze unless I'm sick... which is only a few times a year.
Ok thanks for your reply , it's a fair comment , i guess we are all different , i don't carry a huge amount of gear but i am outdoorsy type so i wrap a few coins in paper towel , i find paper towel has a few uses . Anyway thanks for your time & effort .Rob in Scotland .
Need a fanny pack.
I go through them too fast!
This channel is soo underrated
Thank you!
fr. found this channel the other day when i was looking for videos on not fapping for motivation and stumbled upon this guy. I'm hooked, this dude is the goat
IMO a good "baseline" EDC would be phone/keys/wallet (try going anywhere without these, lol) + a watch + a flashlight + a folding knife.
This was the Ultimate Minimalist EDC! Everything you need, nothing more, nothing less.
I actually did try one. I didn't like the keys coming out Everytime I used my wallet. Wasn't my thing so much. But I do get it.
This channel is amazing.
I pull inspiration from you, no joke, you specifically.
For your keys, have you tried Orbitkey? It’s like a key organisers that is “for the minimalists”.
Great vid.
Phone.
I prefer to be left alone and get bothered when approached unless in a social environment.
the sounds of the city = better than any music
Couldn't disagree more with that statement. Strongly disagree to the atrocity of the sounds of a city. You apparently don't live in one.
I've been using that same wallet for two years and I love it.
I carry the same. But i also can't go anywhere without my tactical pen, tactical flashlight, and folding knife.
Really nice mindset!! When I am caring a lot of things I usually get stressed. I feel like I always forget something.
Great idea to minimize your wallet!
"I'm always in awe that they just are okay with carrying around
this much stuff and just being weighed down by it and all that stuff. I find it
just crazy."
I minimized my wallet and it feels great! Keep up the great work!
Now this is a 'Minimalist every day carry' ,unlike other videos. Seriously who carries a pocket knife everytime they go out or a notebook?
Those I carry, but on certain days. I usually use Evernote as a notebook tho. A smart phone is many things.
Psychopaths?
cerealkiller a pocket knife is always handy. No matter what
In Switzerland most prople carry
a penknife. Do you know how
many uses a good Swiss penknife
has. Maybe you would be surprised and learn a thing or
two.
Wallet.
Keychain.
Phone.
A little tin case with tampons, just in case.
Hi! How do you get the cool spectrum lighting behind you in this video? I'm trying to do something similar. Thank you!
Two rgb LED light blubs. They mix on the wall.
EDC: Wallet, Keysmart (4 keys), Galaxy S8 Plus and the AKG headphones (during the summer, Skullcandy Crusher Wireless in colder months.)
I have the same wallet. I actually bought 2 for a back up. I probably stick more cash in it than I should but none the less a badass wallet.
Your channel is awesome!! I was just in NYC. Toooooooo much walking. Lol. Those Jaybird X2's are excellent. I own that as well.
Is the knife in this thumbnail a James brand Ellis or Elko?
Elko
Well I carry quarters if I ever feel like using a claw machine
I wish more merchants would adopt Apple Pay/electronic payment options, then I could just carry phone. And I love my Apple AirPods . I can have just 1 in a ear... I know a few military tactical guys who insist on carrying a whole kit day to day, but for me I’ve made it this far in life (in multiple cities) and have been okay, so bare bones is typically what I do

If you have apple, why not the earbuds, I hear those are great?
Fair question.
Unfortunately Its because I've got the kind of ears not compatible with the apple earphone design. They just don't work for me, because after anything more than 5-10 minutes, they begin to hurt my ears and it feels like a relieve to remove them from my ears.
I recently bought the phone, so I was like, lets try them once more, but no... still doesn't work for me.
Interesting!
Who else noticed time on the phone going backwards 3:05 - 3:12? 🧐
Nice video. Real comfy vibes with the minimalism. 👍🏼
I see no reason FOR ME for a pen. I use Evernote for notes and they are cloud based.
The Buon Life Point taken! I suck at writing on my phone, so I basically have to use my pen & notebooks =)
Came here for the beard left with something to think about. I need to start carrying light too.
Very nice simple EDC. The only thing beyond these items are a knife. I find myself in situations everyday where I need a knife so I carry one. Keeps things simple.
Where can I get the earpiece wire shortener?
They come with them.
The Buon Life thanks man
This is the most minimal EDC I’ve seen. Nice!
What product is in your hair in this video?
Beardbrand styling balm
Have you had any inclination towards carrying a pocketknife?
I used to. But the belt loop broke. Then I realized I didn't need it anymore after going months without it.
Do you worry at all about the RFID blocker, or is that highly unlikely?
I believe it's something more for traveling than the daily.
Pixel 2 xl is such a good phone, and the pixel 2 has all the same hardware besides the screen and battery if you are looking for a midrange for only 600$ can't beat it
Do you use a phone case? I have a Pixel as well and it looks/feels so much nicer without one. But I'm scared of damaging it.
No. It's made of metal.
I definitely need to minimize my wallet situation. Probably not good for my right butt cheek when I sit down. LOL!
Nice, i like this, im buying a pixel 2 by the end of this year and hopefully ill go down this same path as you?
My big wallet always buggs me, my earphones always break and i have too much on my keychain.
Maybe check out Google Pay, electronic wallets etc. for a more extreme minimalistic lifestyle?
I looked into it, but here in New York, more than half the places are cash only (which I hate and it's crazy but how it is) so it was too much h a hassle.
i carry the same the NYC Subway is loud
UA-cam recommended your channel. I’m staying
That, is really good news! Thanks! Make sure to tell me what you want more of as time goes on, it helps to know what y'all want!
3:07 this is one time that you shouldn't reverse footage (ie: clock going backward)
great video btw
:)
I use to work for the company that made your chair!
Great video sir finally a common sense EDC so much EDC nonsense on UA-cam you watch some of these videos and you just can't help but laugh keep up the good!!!
Cool video. Simple and minimalist 👌🏼
But don’t you wear a watch..?
I've been wanting an Infinity Wallet ever since you made that first video about it, but do you know how much it costs here in Canada on Canadian Amazon? $54.89!!! (vs. $12.99 on amazon.com) If I ordered it directly from the manufacturer's website, after conversion rate, taxes, and international shipping fee, it would still be way overpriced for what it is. So sad.
Look up " SUPR wallet ", It's the real version. Infinity wallet is actually the knock off!
I just did. It's not even available on Amazon Canada, super-inflated price or otherwise. :(
megagene If leather isn’t a problem for you, check out Popov Leather from BC. They make wallets and other leather goods of phenomenal quality. Be well fellow Canuck
Thanks for the suggestion. I have no qualms with leather at all. I'll definitely check them out.
megagene Jeff actually reviewed one about a year ago. He actually tried to destroy it and couldn’t. Look back in his vid history to watch it. It’s worth your time.
Good video man. Do you wear watches?
I do. I mentioned in the description I forgot that. Also I have a whole series on watches coming next month!
Keys, wallet, phone, nose spray (can't breathe at all without it). I didn't know I was a minimalist! *looks at the 417 random things on my desk* Nevermind.
is your beard edc? i want them
I clip on a Keysmart nano to keys and wallet so it doesn’t slip out of my pocket.
Googling
I couldn't find what a keysmart nano is. I found some Swiss army thing for keys but idk how that would help a wallet or keys not slip out. Also how to clip it to a wallet?
Nano Clip by KeySmart - UA-cam
images.app.goo.gl/w8DmXRbZLpbzaUto8
But you do need a loop for the wallet. It’s very lightweight.
Great video, always look forward to the next one!
I don’t know what’s worse in the comment section: the people who think knives are for psychopaths or the psychopaths that demand that you carry a knife.
That lighting is sick!
my boyfriend has the jbirds and he really likes them. I may have to get some once mine break 😄
They're pretty great! They really fit my ears well too! And I would say that most earbuds don't fit me well! Have you tried his pair?
Hey now on my iPad! I am happy with the progress I’ve made, uninstalling UA-cam on my phone kinda permanently! BTW great video.. Keep up the great work!
Great work! iPads are meant for consuming! Good place for it
"what else would you need, I don't understand"
well when I go to the shop close by I don't take much just a plastic bag, phone and wallet.

I don't need to take it all with me when I go out, however I do need somewhere for my bottle and vapes, so it's just easier to bring it all
This is the opposite of minimalist...
What about a Chapstick?
That's an extra. Like gum. Never need it.
Just drink more water in life.
Nah, it's a must for me. My lips always have to stay kissable. Thanks for sharing your EDC. As a woman, it's hard to find a practical one and I think that I work with this.
Well, different people, different goals. The point is to find out what YOUR necessities are not getting rid of stuff.
Agreed, only been on this journey about 3 years. Videos like this help me continue to discover what is truly important to me.
You carry a lot of beard.
I carry a "big" wallet because I trust my paper euros more than a plastic card from a bank. Also, IDs in Greece are huge :')
Damn this guy is blowing up with manliness
Card holder isn't so good, Check out the one i have from Mani wonders.
Why no knife also why not Google pay?
I've never for Google pay to work. Also, I have to use a security password or finger print to open my phone if I use gpay. I really hate that. I like the phone turning on with just pressing the button, not entering and security password or swipe. As far as the knife goes, I have recently added one. However, they are extremely illegal here in NYC if caught with one.
The Buon Life very cool thank you for the reply. I can't wait till we can get down to just phones
I can't wait to get RID of phones.
Well, I carry a multi-tool, along with other things, because I never know when I will need it. Why more people don't carry multi-tools is beyond me. They are handy and can save your ass in a lot of different ways.
Illegal in NY if has a blade over 2" I believe.
You can get one without a blade.
True. But i may add, FOR ME, I don't need one here in NYC. When I'm home on cape or camping, it's a necessity.
Cool video!:) What about glasses/sunglasses?😎
The Buon Life Nice!:) Anyway big respect, like your channel! Found a lot of helpful information for myself;)
👍
All these EDC dumps and no one carries condoms. I've been laid way more than I've had to defend myself. Shake my head. Protect yourself before you wreck yourself
i don't get laid... yet
Keys, way too many of them. Wallet. S9 phone. Hybrid watch. And of course, glasses. Do glasses count?
And to, and from work, my bullet journal.
What about car keys?
I have no car... NY
I could not get by without a pocket knife and key chain flashlight.
I thought you were going to sgow us your favorite gun bro then i heard new york and realized this wasn't about guns
Maybe it's because I live in Texas, but a gun would be a great addition
What for? (P.S. my gun is stored out of state, new York hand gun laws are insane)
Awesome video!
No knife??? Not even a small one for opening stuff??
You make me want to shave my wispy Chris Pratt beard.
google pixel i want something in minimal price range lol..
It usually is. I see it go on a major sale every other month often 500$ off
power bank?
?
He meant battery pack
Wallet, phone, earbuds. My EDC will probably include an open carry weapon in the future.
Keys, phone, money and ChapStick
Thanks

Sometimes I feel minimalism costs a lot.
How so?

Crumb catcher?

I think I need a handbag.
Let's hope you don't sneeze .
Why would that be an issue?
Don't you carry every day a tissue or 2 or a handkerchief in your pocket ?
I sometimes have a handkerchief, example if I'm sick, but not always. If I have a random sneeze, I sneeze into the elbow like everyone else. Not sure how often you sneeze but I don't sneeze unless I'm sick... which is only a few times a year.
Ok thanks for your reply , it's a fair comment , i guess we are all different , i don't carry a huge amount of gear but i am outdoorsy type so i wrap a few coins in paper towel , i find paper towel has a few uses . Anyway thanks for your time & effort .Rob in Scotland .
Cheers!
the phone lacks a headphone jack
My headphones are Bluetooth. Don't need it or want it.
Good boy.
Yo dude, just a tip: Don't show your actual keys in video's, they can be copied very easily.
I can't edit the video.
i call bullshit. it's obvious that your beard carries everything else.
Don't show the teeth of your keys. It's really easy to copy keys from an image now and there's shitty ppl out there.
Oh well.
You carry a Google phone. Your privacy must mean nothing to you.
What do I have to hide?
Btw, google chromebook is rated the most secure digital device you can by. Just sayin' it's not Google that's the problem.
