Great video! I'm new to drums and was moving to a new state where the drums are going to be on a moving truck. I used this method to pack my Renown 20/14/12/10 kit. I used the Large Electronics box from Uhaul and a big roll of the small bubble wrap. I was able to fit the 14 floor tom inside the 20 bass drum and have room to put the 12 and 10 on top. I also packed the floor tom legs, the tree, and the bass drum tension rods in there. The whole kit fit in the one box and arrived safely to its destination. I used the box that the bubble wrap was in for the 14 x 8 snare drum, worked perfectly.
@@nimblename The 12 and 10 were not stacked. You are correct only the floor tom can be nested inside the bass. So the floor tom and bass drum were on the bottom. I put a layer of cardboard on top of that. Then the 12 and 10 could fit on top placed next to each other diagonally. The the tom legs and tree went into the other corners that were not taken by the 12 and 10. Everything was wrapped so nothing bare in the box. A snare cannot fit in the box with the rest of the kit, I packed the snare in a separate box. I have pictures somewhere.
@@kirstensray brilliant - thanks. I didn't think to put them side by side. Ended up using 2 extra boxes for mine, but oh well. i feel like they are safe and will fit just fine in the moving truck apart.
I am wondering the exact same question! There is no mention of what to do with stands, cymbals, pedals, and snare. The stands in particular-- I have about 200 lb.'s worth of stands...
Hi Hicham! That really depends on the drums. When nested, the large box will probably be between 50 and 70 lbs, and the smaller box between 30 and 50 lbs. Also, keep in mind shipping companies will be charging by dimensional weight and not just physical weight. Great video. Do you know in 2022 how much UPS would charge to ship a five Piece drum set packed like this video from Eagle Rock Los Angeles CA. 90065 To Jomtien Beach Pattaya Thailand. 20150 ? I have tried to find this out online and failed. And when i called UPS from Thailand i was told by a recording that there was a 90 minute wait to speak to someone. Please help if you can. Thank you
I like "Bass Drum Box." Walk into a shipping supplies store. "Yes, I'm in need of a bass drum box." Clerk, "Around here were call them Kick Drum Box. What size? We're out of 26" ones." " 22" Clerk, "We offer the Alex Van Halen discount if your kit has three or more kick drums."
Buyer Beware on the shipping kit: $50 gets you two boxes and some bubble wrap. There is no drum key, tape, instruction kit or anything else in the kit. It's a colossal waste of money. I'm so disappointed.

Did you just stack the 12/10 on top of each other in there? The hardware is preventing me from nesting anything beyond the floor Tom :(

@@soundpurestudios I have a question: What about the snare drum?? Where does that fit into the bass drum spot??
cool! thanks so much!
FedEx No way... unless you want your package to be tossed over a fence. UPS is much better option. Thank you for sharing this.
Thank you so much a very helpful video, may i know what is the total dimension of the box?
