One of the best songs in Need for Speed Underground.
It was in Underground 2. I remember this, Mudvayne's Determined and especially Rise Against's Give It All as the standout tracks!
Drew P. Weiner same here. Unthinkable that they put helmet in a video game hahah
@@drewp.weiner5708 Pretty sure NFS and Tony Hawk's Pro Skater were responsible for all my future music preferences!
@@leerobbo92 Yeah, THPS was the other big one.
Mudvayne was the real MVP of that soundtrack imho
As a Skindred fan, Nobody was their first single. The rest of the Babylon album gets so much stronger but Nobody was their anouncement to the world. Something to make people stand up and listen! Check out Pressure! That's an amazing song. They've now had 7 studio albums and they are definitely going from strength to strength while growing as a band.
I see a lot of comments about Pressure but that's overrated when there are songs like Bruises, Beginning of Sorrows , etc on that album
This song still kicks ass in 2024.
Saw skindred in early 2000-2002 time frame. Friends band was playing a small small venue in st louis mo, never heard of skindred. Some big black dreaded guy was just killing it the whole show in the mosh pit, then suddenly between sets jumps up on stage and is the lead singer for skindred. Dude was awesome. Great energy show.
It's 1998 as you said. Do not forget the impact of Korn and naturally nu-metal vibes over this song.
Didn't Benji jump on to do a song or 2 with Korn to cover for JD being sick at Download one year?
Never mind.... as I'm typing it that's feeling more like an hallucination! LOL
Wtf? Lol
:p
ua-cam.com/video/mOzdP0uej0M/v-deo.html&t=51
Korn was the biggest band on earth in 98
It sounds exactly like korn
HOLY NOSTALGIA!!!! Haven't thought about this band in a LONG time.
Yeah man! Saw them live back in 2006-7 😂
Check out kill the power and their new stuff.
You are missing out because they are still awesome and put out 6 albums since this.
This bring me right back to MX vs ATV
Personally I think "Ratrace" is a much better constructed song.
Highly recommend it!
was just about to suggest this.
Maybe they prefer trap music lol
I highly agree
Absolutely
It is a Bob Marley cover.
Song that introduced me to Skindred was Rat Race. Worth listening to that one.
Also Stand for Something.
They also do a great cover of Eddy Grant's Electric Avenue.
Game over is great too, I liked them a lot when they were called Dub War as well.🤘
Mine was Warning, both bangers though
This song was amazing in Need for Speed Underground 2
That was how I found this band
YESSSS!!!!!
Duuude!!!
My childhood in one game
How I got into them lol
"Pressure" by Skindred is a banger! Super catchy and much more accessible than "Nobody".
Seconded, def should check out "Pressure"
Yall forgeting about stand for something game over Kill the power
Pressure is definitely what i would have choose to do maybe trouble or Babylon
Or selector
Tears or the fear
Skindred is amazing, the second and third albums are much better, and they are 10x better live, I've seen them 5 times, and they kill it Everytime.
You got that right, they are awesome live
They’re my most seen band live to! 7 times so far
I saw them open for Breaking Benjamin years ago and they were awesome.
Seen Skindred a few times live. Crazy energy!
The Newport helicopter is a scene to behold!
Daaammmn it's been a few years since I listened to Skindred. I'm excited for this reaction
Absolute belter of a song!
Definitely check out "roots rock riot"
And "kill the power" from skindred
Ninja, Warning,... a lot of good songs, man :D.
kill the power was great
Kill the power for sure
I like all of skindreds albums EXCEPT Kill the Power. I just could not get into that one.
Please do "Push It" by Static-X!
@@chupachichis2433 why did you comment this under this other comment when it has nothing to do with your comment
Get in the bushes
Cannibal is also a great Static-X tune
Hell yeah
Great song, love it, dont think they'd be into Wayne's vocals tho.
Maximum the hormone is a band I wanna see you guys react to
Yes!!!
Definitely
yoshu fukushu
Yesss
Babymetal too. I think they would like Megitsune, Karate, and Rondo Of Nightmares,
"Pressure" might have been a better jumping off point. Maybe even "Cut Dem"
I wad thinking Pressure or Selector. 👍
I would agree with Pressure being a better starting point, but it's also a bit more commercial. I had to go through some of the other stuff before I developed an appreciation for Nobody. I'm actually happy I did that because I don't think I would have appreciated Skindred if I started with Pressure or Rat Race and come back to this song.
Totally agree.
While I agree, personally I really liked "Bruises."
Glad to see them do Skindred but my first thought was "Oh Man this is not a strong song to start with."
I had hoped you'd do Kill the Power as a first listen by them. In my opinion it's their best "first song" to listen to, almost perfect fusion between genres into one song.
Well said, I like to think Shadowridge by hedPE represents this aswell
That's what I say kill the power would of been a better introduction
Kill the power. Upvote
Completely agree. The choices for recommended songs are usually absolutely awful and never a good representation of the band. I really wish they'd use more suggestions from the non-patreon people, since the choices in song are usually terrible. People should be choosing a song that best represents the band as a whole, not just the heaviest or their personal favorite.
Agreed. Nobody was my first exposure to Skindred and what got me listening to them, but I think Kill the Power is a way better choice for a first listen.
I know I've seen this live. The energy was RIDICULOUS
Fire From the Gods - Excuse Me
Metalcore mixed with blends of hiphop, reggae and djent
I've been requesting this FOREVER.
LOVE Fire From the Gods! Would love to see a reaction video to any of their songs!
If you want to hear heavy punk reggae mashup type music you need to search out The Bad Brains.
Discography:
Bad Brains (1982)
Rock for Light (1983)
I Against I (1986)
Quickness (1989)
Rise (1993)
God of Love (1995)
I & I Survived (2002)
Build a Nation (2007)
Into the Future (2012)
Thank you for suggesting roots of reggae and hardcore punk
Yup- HR- OG of streetskate (not-skatepark) background music....skindred been at it for a hot min tho. Definitely Not for everyone.
Shit yeah. Bad Brains is a game changer
This is one of skindred more hard songs and a difficult first one. I'd recommend kill the power, ninja, or that's my jam. They have a party energy and a big discography
Kill the power
"Ninja" is probably my favourite song from them. "Wildfire" with crossfaith is a great track too
Saw them live at a festival with my daughter (her very first) and when they came on it was afternoon with low energy. They started playing and it was like an outside club. Everyone was dancing every kinda way and it was the first time she let loose and started dancing and doing more than just watching what was happening. They were great and though she never heard of them before then it was her favorite band of the day.
Skindred is by far one of the best live bands I’ve seen. Honestly though nobody is not the best song to start with. Rat race and selector are my favourites! Awesome to hear your honest opinions. Love your channel!
Dude that whole CD was just too good
Rat Race definitely
One of my favorite bands since I was kid.....I was like whhhhhaaatttt when this popped up in my notifications
Alter Bridge - Works Darker Than Their Wings Live from Royal Albert Hall
Best live performance out thrre
Heath Clark was there. Can confirm. Stunning.
Their live shows are one of the best I've been to personally, and they are from just up the road from where I live...
I think Pressure would've been a better introduction to Skindred. Give it a go.
crazeh8 I said Pressure, Set it Off, or Selector, knowing how Ryan has an appreciation for groove.
Ryan Larocque
Yup. These 3. Exactly.
NONPOINT-BULLET WITH A NAME!!!
The Truth is a better No point song.
Lol Smackdown Vs. Raw 😂 Another Ps2 player I see
Skindred are still touring strong, sell out gigs everywhere across the U.K. I’ve seen them at least 4 times a year for the last 5 years. Never disappointed
Skindred are one of those bands that have a way of getting under your skin with time. When you first hear them, they seem a bit out there and a bit strange, but they're so likeable and commited to their art, and their live performances are so full of energy and fun that you find yourself loving them almost against your better judgement.
Love Skindred, saw them live a few times and it's always a party!
Saw them live as a surprise guest at a static x and otep show in kc. It was amazing.
@@kero1640 that sounds like an awesome show. Luckily being in U.K I've seen them a bit more regularly than most.
NFS 2: UNDERGROUND! 🤘🏽
This is all I can think about when I hear this song.
@@ryanhanson9631 right? Let's bump to that 🤜🏽🤛🏽
That and riders on the storm with snoop dogg
Can we get POD reaction?
Roots in stereo, alive, youth of the nation?
South Town
South town!
Richard McLean this song to! Album in general is lowkey underrated.
@@gmxdrmr123 agreed
FINALLY MY GOD
I've been waiting for this one. React to pressure by skindred as well.
One of the best live bands I've ever seen. They get the whole crown jumping. It's intense.
Definitely - saw them 3 times already - extremely great crowds-management!
Skindred are excellent! Kill The Power is probably a better song to start with though
Guys...I haven't heard this song since like 2004. I am now reminded of how 🔥 it was!!! Really brings me back to my high school days.
Need For Speed Underground 2, and MX VS ATV Unleashed family unite!!!
Two CLASSIC games. I played hundreds of hours in each of those.
Need for speed veteran here
I can't even describe how happy I am that they stumbled upon skindred
SKINDRED! Never clicked so fast!
Lol yeah same here
Fast, huh?
I've seen Skindred live and their energy and the crowds energy is insane! I have been a metal head for over 20 years and some songs are just flat out better LIVE cause you are surrounded by everyone else in the same head space as you!!
Subscribed simply because you chose to review Skindred. Watching the whole damn back catalog now.
Any other UK skankers sit bolt upright at "...we need to get to ska..."
Yes. Yes you do.
I’m in the US, but I was like, really? That would very interesting. So many songs are already running around in my head.
y'all need to do a reaction video to some GANGSTA METAL... Ice-T's band, Body Count are pretty brutal! 🤘
Try "Stand For Something" by Skindred. Another great track from the folliwing album.
Imagine bouncing up and down to this. It's a different piece if you're just sitting down.
If you want to try more Skindred, try "Pressure" from the same album. It's a little bit smoother
Nobody:
Skrindred: Lets put reggae into metal.
fishonmyplane the song is called nobody, tell me a better meme to use. I’ll wait...
This is a classic, but their more recent stuff has really improved on the combination
Had the pleasure of seeing this band live twice, still top 5 rowdiest crowds I've ever been in. The mosh pits were insane. These guys were a breath of fresh air in the metal community and everyone was flocking to their shows at the festivals.
I haven’t heard them in a while. I can listen to this over and over. Really good for workout. The energy and flow is awesome. I think it feels organic and smooth meld.
I started at your video of the new tool song and watched a few more until i got here. You guys are refreshingly honest. I love that you're not just sitting there blindly giving the thumbs up to any song suggested. You have integrity and thats hard to come by. I am gladly going to go back and run through your back catalogue. Keep it up. Im glad i found your page.
Thanks guys, singing Keith Sweat now while making breakfast! :D
As a metalhead from the Caribbean, I totally understand your reaction to this live song without context.
I have seen Skindred live however, and they totally blew me and my crew away. The whole crowd was 1000% into it and that's where the cheesy parts come out...it fits great in the moment though :)
Just don't take these guys too seriously, it's not meant to be prog, just 100% (live) fun. Even their banner is a metalhead cat, so that should hopefully give some more context. If you ever try them again, go for a live show!
If they want to go weird, try candiria.
They literally do smooth jazz elevator music interludes. Not often you hear a xylophone in metal.
bobmfthomp very yes! COMA IMPRINT
One of THE best live bands you will ever see. I've seen them three times. Doing the Newport Helicopter during Warning was something else
The first time I heard this song I was HOOKED!
Me: Ooo lost in vegas is doing Skindred? They're going to love this
Lost in Vegas: doesnt like it
Me: I knew they wouldnt approve
Dude, I just remembered about this band yesterday! And this metalhead is 100% here for the Keith Sweat shoutout!
They are truly amazing live. I saw them as an opener. Had no idea who they were. After the show I immediately went to the merch table and bought their album.
These guys kill it live.....crowd goes lit!.....saw them twice in South Florida........
Listen to Leprous.. I don't like so much prog but I love leprous
Yes! Anything from The Congregation. Solid album.
@@epbmetal7399 From the Flame as a starter and then we move on to something from The COngregation when Things get serious ;)
White!!
Leprous, the price
I feel like y'all would've like their song Pressure better. But great video! Thank you for checking it out!
You're right, Nobody is a song for live shows I think. Pressure is easy better for 'at home listening'
Saw Skindred live at Copenhell last week. Man, that was so much fun. Funny lead singer, fire performance.
OMG 😮!!! 2005! My first year out of the Navy! This song brings me back to Jacksonville Florida!! Love this song!!
Twelve foot ninja-Mothersky!! And COMING FOR YOU
Indeed
This a great band who have done some really cool things.
I remember this song in high school. I didn’t love it or hate it but it definitely would amp you up. Nostalgia is hitting me
Man I was just looking up Skindred again (thanks nfs) and realized had never seen you react to this one, I love this start already.
Music is brilliant across all genres
12 foot ninja, oxygen. Please guys it's another form fusion rock I think you will love it.
12footninja rules!
@@agustinares930 it's good to hear someone else in the know about them, they are amazing.
12 foot gets heavier than fusion rock tho. Have you listened to one hand killing? That shit go harrrrd.
Should have viewed/reacted with a live performance of Skindred with their Newport helicopter 🤟🏻🏴🤟🏻
Exactly bro. Top notch live performances.
I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS!!!
Skindred haven't ever done it for me on record, but saw them live (supporting Bullet for my Valentine) eleven years ago and still think it was one of the best performances I've seen. Can imagine they're the kind of band who make straight-forward, slightly gimmicky records for the purpose of going on tour and really coming into their element on stage when it comes together more, for a metal-leaning party with all these other influences. I appreciate what they're going for, and would make the time for them live, but it's just never clicked for me.
For me the best reggae infused Skindred songs from that album are Set If Off, and Selecter. Think you might appreciate them ones more!
So many memories jamming to this on NFS Underground 2... Loved this song.
You guys might prefer Selector from these guys
Haven’t watched yet but I love this damn band. So hype.
The boy on the right is enjoying it hahaha, the other one processes it but doesn't fully understand it. you guys are fun, new sub
Been requesting Death Grips “takyon” or “guillotine” for months now lol. They are like a rap/post-punk/noise/experimental hybrid! I’m convinced you’ve never heard anything like it.
I'm super surprised they haven't listened to Death Grips yet. I can't really think of songs I think they'll like, though. Maybe they can try Get Got or I've Seen Footage because people seem to like those. Beware is also good.
GrayEcho yea, it’s hard to pick a song that would be accessible for a new listener since they try to be as abrasive and chaotic as possible. “I’ve seen footage” would be perf for them.
Rivers of Nihil - Where Owls Know My Name
Sangram Tawade I just went and listened, that was the trippiest metal song I’ve ever heard lol good shit
They are SO AWESOME live. Try some of their other stuff. They are still out there making music. I love them!
You guys are the best out there !!
Skindred is still an active band; they released a new album last year, Big Tings. i was supposed to see them, but there was an issue with their visas.
also, i think you would like "Rat Race" or "Trouble" better. especially the video for "Rat Race", which is done in one take.
I would say the screaming and growling are the bits that held up the best.
ye, those NOBODY GETS OUT ALIVE parts are top 10 hooks from the nu metal era for me
Listened to Skindred all through high school. This brings me back.
love these guys. the contrast is so great
Please do Kyuss! Greatest band ever and different metal/rock than anything you've played. Gardenia and The Law are great, or for something shorter Hwy 74.
Demon cleaner or thong song
Isn't this one of the soundtracks to Need for speed Underground? Really like the channel! Can't wait to see you react to At the Gates - Slaugter of the Soul 😉
Would be insane if they reacted to at the gates 🤘🏻
@@ryanglassey8037They have waited way to long!
First time I heard this band they were an opening act for Disturbed. They started their set list with Roots Rock Riot(just released that album at the time) and the song hit me dead on and enjoyed their entire show. After they were done, I bought their CD, met the band and got my copy signed by the guys. Nice fellas.
Oh my God, I haven't listened to Skindred in YEARS. I remember absolutely banging to these guys. Now I'm sort of cringing at my teenage self, retroactively. I now realize how much I expect from musicians today.
this song reminds me of MX vs ATV unleashed on PS2 that soundtrack was a banger after banger
Y'all need some (hed) p.e. in here. Bartender and Renegade are the obvious choices but i think Hurt would be great. They also do the metal-reggae mix well.
this takes me way back. really gets me pumped
YOU GUYS REALLY MAKE ME SMILE. X
You guys should do Tantric "Down and Out" or "Breakdown"
Breakdown is really good
Just saw skindred last night in London wow what a show
Please react to ALIEN WEAPONRY - Kai Tangata (Official Video) it is Maori Metal from New Zealand. It goes hard.
kamenwaticlients and watch the video
@@jaredadlam9650 Yes indeed. That's why I made sure to put the whole video tittle to make sure they search and find the right one. They most definitely have to watch the video.
Dude I’m hooked, loving this contrast!
This was one of the defining sounds for me as a mixed race alternative teen. This would come on at the club and I would be ON.THE.DANCEFLOOR. popping my hips and swinging my hair around. Good times.
Man this brings me back.... However, Skindred's Kill The Power would probably have been a better intro song for new listeners.
