- If a single red pikmin dies, I can't use any red pikmin for the rest of the game. That's pretty much the main rule in this Pikmin nuzlocke.
Funny story:
So I first got this idea back in July before Pikmin 4 came out, and I wanted to make a video out of the video. I beat Pikmin 4 regularly when it first came out, but soon after that, I started a nuzlocke playthrough. Only I lost the Nuzlocke in the second area 😅. At that point I figured I'd give up on the video, but I decided to try again during the first week of August and this time, I-

You gotta use the call to base item, I've never lost a pikmin from that. Although I imagine they could run into trouble otw home if you don't full clear all enemies when you're pathing through

Funnily enough just around an hour ago i was thinking “would a pikmin nuzlocke be possible? What if it was like if 10 or so pikmin of a type die then that type is gone for good?” Then this is recommended lol

I had the same thought too, which of course is why this video exists
It's worth noting that if you lose purple pikmin, it is impossible to beat Cavern for a King. This is the only time you absolutely need a specific type excluding the red pikmin in the intro.
And of course for 100% you can do it with just purples and yellows and/or winged Pikmin iirc. you're just gonna need a hell of a lot of ice blasts.
One day I might try to 100% the game with this challenge...one day
@@JohnnyWonder12 You never failed the challenge. you still have a chance with winged pikmin, purple pikmin and white pikmin cause you can find them as wild pikmin in caves. and then not to mention Oatchi. You should keep this one going!, (if you want) I believe in you!!!
Rock pikmin are immune to most types of crushing, so you should use them when fighting porquillons, wollywogs, etc
Noted for next time
They're only immune to that if it's on an organic floor. If it's on the hard concrete ground, then they will die
they get crushed on tiles and other places that are hard.
If you ever do it again, may i suggest seeking purples and whites for more options? Or even wings, though only one cave hosts them (the disco long legs one)
Also, i wonder how would this apply to olimar's shipwreck story, since lacking any of the 3 main types would lead to not beating it and not getting purple and white onions
Yeah I'm honestly disappointed I didn't find more Pikmin types, I may try this challenge again but 100% the game this time, but that wouldn't be anytime soon 😅

I started a run like this recently except losing pikmin reduces my max field. If i lose 3 pikmin while at 20 cap for example, my new max field is 17.

@@JohnnyWonder12 canonically they don't actually die, but just sort of disappear and then can be spawned again in the future. even if they get eaten!

Nice early typo 2 seconds in. I think Pikmin 4's the easiest by far in the series to beat without losing Pikmin (not that I did it on the first run).
I think this would've went better if you reset to day 1 if you die or if you run out of Pikmin types

I like to get 30 ice pikmin, get 2 flarics and build a bridge to get the blue onion early

You're the opposite of me, I'm usually heading to the second area when I first get the blue onion
if you ever plan to do this again, i recommend trying to teach oatchi's carry buff and chomp, so you don't risk pikmin as much, and for the porquillion, use rocks as they're immune to the spikes, and with russ, try to get all the element gears so oatchi can take out any enemy who has that hazard or any obstacles that are hazards, examples being Fiery Bulblax, the freezing ice that make pikmin shiver, and poisonous mushrooms
I knew they were immune to being squished but I had no idea that they were immune to the porquillion's spikes, no wonder it didn't die when it got hit by one lol, I do plan to do this again one day, so thanks for the advice
@@JohnnyWonder12 i'm almost certain they are, but tomorrow i'll go in the piklopedia just to recheck since my rocks didn't die when it was hit before

@@oofedultra Rock Pikmin are immune to stabbing attacks and being "crushed". I say crush in quotes because there are some cases where they can still die while crushed :
- If they're being crushed by an elemental attack (like the fiery rock ennemy).
- If they're being crushed while they're on a hard surface (like the table of Hero's Hideway, or on cement)

Easy = Can use types but if one Pikmin dies then you can use 1 more Type of thing that can grow your Pikmin use it wisely!
Simple = if a Pikmin dies then it's type can't be grown any more
Normal = This video or If a Pikmin dies then it can't be used
Hard = If a Pikmin dies the type can't be used and end the day
SPICY MODE = Pacifist run with Normal mode rules
🔥ULTRA SPICY🔥 = PACIFIST RUN BUT WITH THE HARD MODE RULES
Edit: At Easy mode Pikmin left behind at night aren't considered as having only 1 chance to grow

The problem with that is that the pikmin types I hadn't found yet came from flowers, meaning I would've needed pikmin to obtain them, unless they were found somewhere in the wild

Also, since you get the code from playing cards, it means that there's no combination with a 0 in it. This makes guessing/brute forcing the code a little easier
