The best budget/entry level 1911 of 2023.

- This past year we brought a lot of what I consider budget friendly single stack 1911's to the channel. Out of all the 1911's in this budget friendly category, there was one pistol that out shined them all.
TISAS is the best thing to happen for the 1911. These other manufacturers charge way too much for their name.
There are some things that these Tisas pistols lack, in regards to fitment but it's minimal. But you are 100% correct. The 1911 enhanced duty offer more than 99% of the 800-1000.00 pistols.
Tisas 1911s are THE way to go. Buy with confidence then build it how you want. I love my b45r
💯…. Everybody should own a 1911. Ergonomics and trigger are second to none, even a super cheap mil spec trigger. Best platform ever created. Awesome review Sir!
Excellent Video! Thanks for the support. Just wait for what Tisas has coming out in 2024
That intro music is fire and now i want a tisas as well lol
Happy new year and thank you for this content! This is really what alot of us are interested in and can realistically attain❤
Cant wait for tisas to enter the 2011 space
😎
LOL...they're now in the 2011 space!
Go tisas!
Im proud to have them. Quality. Period. Thanks.
I appreciate your loyalty to your pistol and I bought my first 1911 9mm Springfield Garrison and I absolutely love it and I am a Springfield fan and own eight different Springfield pistols and would like to see a TISAS and I am looking at buying a 1911 in a 45ACP.
My first ever pistol was the 1911 Republic of Texas, it’s a great pistol that I got a great deal on. Its also a huge head turner, everyone tells me it’s a beautiful piece and I’m so glad I went with it!!
I picked up a Tisas B45R for 329.00 last year. At that price, I couldn't resist. I cannot recommend it enough. The only thing I did to mine was slightly beveling the ambi safety. The safety out of the box is a little sharp to my liking. After the first outing, being a 500 round day, I was quickly started to see wear on my gloves. 30 minutes and some time with my stones and boom. Done. Worth every penny!!!
Wait till the part 2 of the b45r drops. You will be happy if you are a b45r fan.
So tisas or rock island armory ?
@@jessesilva4190 Tisas all the way.
Bro, you have some darn good videos.
Dammit, I LOVE my Tisas and I will be getting another one! Great video.
Just got carry version have several 1911s an really like the tisas for the price a lot of gun even for high price still a lot of gun thanks for the vids 👊
just a heads up. The stainless slide stop and ambi safety are MIM. I spoke to Tisas and confirmed for the stainless guns, they are using left over MIM parts in these despite the advertisements. You can however, request a machined slide stop as a replacement for free, but not the ambi as they do not have any machined safeties in stainless at this time.
It’s ok! Relax!!!!!
I love mine.
because of your reviews of tisas, and a couple of others, I bought 2, my friends bought two, and a third is a probable purchase for me , their version of the bobbed lightweight commander 45acp
Appreciate the follow my friend. I got one more coming to kick off 2024. I had to add some sauce to this one.
Whoohoo!! Rocking the first defense hat means a +2 to accuracy and +3 to speed.
I'm getting one. I already have one that i love, but i want the front strap checkering.
Aloha, what brand magwell did you put in there and where’d you find it? Much appreciated!
When sensei is a gun master you listen.
Seems like a good value.
It's a great way for someone to try a 1911 style pistol and not break the bank. And there are other less expensive models that shoot just as well.
Just had one in the cart for 550. not too bad at all!
anyone else out there put different grip widths on the frame? thinner where the fingers press, full standard inside the palm side? All I ask is you think about how your hand grips the gun. Been shooting 1911's since 85, carried off duty since 85, until retirement in 2012. Now ccw . I shoot same same all the time when other folks want to see how their pistol shoots etc, I found the probability of natural alignment seems to happen more naturally. Before the 'LOL's" may I ask that you try it ? No sarcasm, seriously asking for your resulting opinion.
I do have a custom Mr. Pat Linthicum 1911 stainless and alloy Commander slide officer frame; Caspian etc. He made this before it was 'cool'
What mag well did you put on it? Is there any benefit to put on a one piece mag well instead??
What magwell did you put on this pistol?
Thanks for the video and 1911 content! Is this the Tisas JSOC variant you teased on the TRP video or is that video still coming?
The JSOC is coming.
@@rdrgear Sounds good didn't seem like this one, but wanted to check. Is the JSOC going to retail for sub 1k or what is the plan?
@@rdrgear Edit: I now see the JSOC model it is from a different SDS Import brand of "MAC, military armarment corp." not Tisas. I found it and it is for sale now online at least sorry for the prior confusion. Have you seen the Tisas model Night Stalker SF with a grey tint cerakote? That is listed as coming to the Tisas website it's a looker! Also Tisas appears to be launching 3 different 9mm 1911 double stack models. I hope you are getting a testing and evaluation double stack I'm going to be searching for one of those bad boys as soon as they are released.
Where can I find that Magwell? Thanks
I am interested in a tisas raider
I own 3 Tisas love mine I think it’s than my Gold Cup
I own 4 Dan wesson 1911s. And I own 4 Tisas 1911s. I feel tisas is far from entry level.
I use entry in regards mainly to price. The Tisas pistols offer a lot for the money. They are a great entry level pistol for the person who might be waiting their first 1911. When a lot of 1911's with less features are close to the 1k mark.
Review a ruger ia 100% American made and good price
MOAR GIVE ME MOAR
Which Springfield model did you used to carry?
I’m guessing the Professional model, Springfield closed their custom shop and no longer make the Professional.
Yeuh and NO MIM parts like the others ❤
I picked up the Duty B45 rail for $350, just 3 weeks ago.
It’s easily as good as my older SA Operator, which was well over $1000. The Operator has all MIM parts, the 2023 Tisas had no MIM.
MIM makes no difference in my opinion. The tisas is great but I am stating to see some play in the slide and frame but it still shoots great
When it comes to 1911s it’s not like this model over here has a better trigger than that model over there… the reality is you either got one where somebody bothered to tune the sear spring or they didn’t. Improving the trigger pull on any 1911 is very straightforward and should not dictate which gun you purchase. Barrel fitment and proper lock up and timing is more important, and are areas where the Tisas generally suffers.
What’s the brand name of the magwell and where can I buy one sir?
For $30 its probably one of the magwells from Wilson Combat that hook over the bushings. Your mileage may vary on those because normally the grips have to be relieved on the inside to make space for the hooks if you don't want gaps between your grips and the frame.
Get a smith and Alexander Maxwell..don't buy that Wilson hook on pos.
Where’s the link to this for the backstory???
What back story?
The enhanced is roughly 100 bucks more than the regular duty railed or not. Not sure which to get tbh...
The fiber optics and the frame checkering on the enhanced I feel is worth it
@@rdrgear appreciate ya
What model Tisas?
Enhanced duty
Where did you get that mag well?
E-bay
Klonimus and Fusion Firearms make excellent parts for 1911's, Evolution Gun Works makes great stuff too! Klonimus has Mainspring/Magwells at good prices and they fit great.
RDR gears I cannot find a customer service phone number for y’all for some reason why it’s not giving me one. Please leave one below for me. Thank you very much.
Everbody says get a glock (so I shot the .45) and I was a gonna until I rented one the thing is garbage. My grandpa let me play with his colt 1911 and I loved everything about it. Looks, the way it comes apart, the way it feels in the hand. (I've never shot a 9mm but the .45acp recoil is not bad at all)
Welcome. You have an awesome grandpa. 🤙
What do you think about kimber
I reached out to Kimber. We will see. Their guns have been rumored to have had some hiccups over the years. Noting. I have experienced personally.
Wait until you tell Jeff about 10mm 1911s
You are the only one that does. If I'm being totally honest. Most people are slightly more educated.
You don't like 10mm 1911s?
@@rickgrimes931 not for me I'm sure there are people who do. It's just not the round most think it is in my opinion.
@@rdrgear - I love it, especially out of a 6" barrel. But you can't have the weak rounds. You need the full power rounds.
@@rickgrimes931 he only shoots watered down .40 spec loads and can't even run them well, yet talks shit about 10mm when he's yet to even run anything Norma spec or better.
Ruger sr1911 light weight is usa made and around $700
I shot one. I could not keep it running. The Tisas offers way more features out the box than alll of the current "US" made 1911's in the same price point.
SR1911 doesn't compare well to this gun. The Rugers are full of MIM, have no front strap checkering, and does NOT have a forged frame (they are cast). The Tisas is the better product.
MIM parts will need replacement.
Exactly most don’t understand that. Same with the garbage ass prodigy that they love so much thing is trash imo
Some will upgrade. Pistols are this price point, are entry levels budget friendly pistol. I'm 2600 rounds on two different 1911DS prodigy's. Both original pistol from the launch.
MIM is just the cool buzz word as of late. Upside if someone wants to upgrade they can.
@@anthonyjose5644 zero issues with two prodigy's. 1500 on 1. And 1000 on the other.
@@rdrgear mine was absolute hell I’m glad you’re having a good experience
I believe there are no MIM parts on Tisas
drinking beer and messing around with guns. Great....
I just can’t with the Turkish origin when there are so many American made options.
Me too. Still it’s a nice pistol. Curious to see how it holds up over time.
I'm honestly looking for the better made gun...I'm buying what I think has the best materials, not solely judging a product on it's origin. Part of being American is having the choice to buy what you want. I'm not going to buy an American made product that's full of MIM when there's an option that's MIM free and proven, for a LOT less. If American companies want my money, they're going to have to play the game equal to or better than the competition. I'm going to buy what I think is best, not what someone else thinks is best.
it is funny some people bad mouth turkish guns because their made in turkey, when we have communist china products in our homes , and to top it off turkey is an ally, no matter what their politics are
Mine says Knoxville TN so I don't know what to say
Buying non-American shit is UNAmerican. 👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻
LOL ........ then throw your "phone" away !!!!!! 🙂 🙂
Go ahead and throw away 90 percent of your stuff then. Will wait.
were in nato too and against china too amk
But will you drive a Toyota they are made in America
(Typed on phone made outside of the US)
