Hydroxyurea and an aspirin regimen seems to be working for me and my platelet count is being kept in the normal range. My hematologist and I have tried various frequencies and dosages, trying to keep things stable and it looks like we're there.
I was diagnosed in 2014 with the CALR Exon 9 mutation and ET. I have tried to find whatever information about the probable causes, but without success....and that's how I found this video, in fact. Just this morning, I got out what I have of my medical records, going back to 2008, just to get a better idea as to when this may have occurred. I had previously thought it popped up in 2013 or 2014, but my platelet count from 2009 and 2008 revealed that it was already there at that time. As I don't have records from any earlier than this, I have no idea whether it was there prior to 2008.
Excellent discussion. Thank you from patient recently diagnosed with PV.
