All U.S. Navy SEAL's have my highest respects... Most if not all Navy SEAL are TYPE A personalities... Perfectionists, highly motivated, goal oriented, positive people... And most of them are achievers even before they became SEAL's and most of them are really humble (like this guy)... But make no mistake, these are probably the world's most dangerous and deadly elite special forces warriors out there... I salute you Navy SEAL's for your hard work, sacrifice and dedication to your profession...
i would recommend "The Warrior's Heart" by Mr. Greitens, it is easily one of the greatest books I have ever read. I am a freshman in college and not a fan of reading, but I finished this book in under two days. It really pulls you in and gets you to ask yourself what you would do and calls you to help others. It is a great book written by a great man.
The guy is a Rhodes Scholar but having said that he's almost too articulate, too smooth, and too polished. He comes across like a politician running for office. I almost wish he would just loosen the tie, take a drink and chill.
@ pensfan718766 - Of course he's polished; he is a Navy SEAL who conduct themselves professionally in everything they do. Sounds like you were expecting him to come off as a grunt (like a Marine who is a group that I also respect). If he presented himself as chill, relaxed with a loose tie, would you (and most people) have taken him seriously in the interview?
SkullAngel002 SEALS are great at what they do in their SOCOM role but most are not polished communicators; moreover, being a SEAL does NOT give automatic credibility for everything; the ones on the media circuit are prepped prior to showtime and are outliers in their community. I have a problem with his overall presentation in that it felt too contrived, like a politician's address. For seriousness, I don't care how they dress; I care about the argument coherentness. As I said, he didn't bring new thoughts...he reiterated known statements.
pensfan718766 Of course he reiterated known statements; it's the Wall Street Journal media channel so the aim was to educate WSJ's audience who don't know these things (e.g. BUD/s intensity, etc.). I don't know what part of the interview illustrated it but what part implied that being a SEAL gives automatic credibility to everything? Upon watching it, I realized he's just telling a story about his career as a SEAL. Regarding the presentation, how then should it have been presented so it didn't feel contrived or like a politician's address (remember it's the WSJ)?
+jerffer51 I read some of it. He seemed pretty humble in interviews-maybe not the book. Also, I still think they train people to be humble. They also tell people in training not to smoke or do drugs but they do it anyway. Some people just don't listen.
1.) you need to recognize the strengths in everybody around you 21.) you need to recognize that it is not about you. Its not about you going through hard training, its about your ability to make it through that training in order to be of service to others.
Eric is a SEAL but he never led a platoon and only functioned as a support unit in the countries he stated and spent most of his days on a ship. He used his Trident to become a governor and exaggerated his service as a SEAL. When the SEAL/s needed him in combat Eric was no where to be found.
I just watched that video where Drago talked about that. This guy is no different from David Goggins in that he got his trident, left, and used his trident as a cornerstone to get ahead in civilian life. He even says in this video "i was mostly attracted to SEAL teams because i wanted to see if i could pass the test". Except David Goggins is just trying to push people and make people tap into there potential. This scumbag only got the trident so he could be a politician
I read his book at least 3 times. I loved it, and it taught me so much about life, some of the issues in the world, what it means to be a man and in general a person.
This guy doesnt seem to be a trash talker like many of the navy seals being interviewed. I understand that they are bad asses but this guy steals the show being a gentleman with humility. There is no chip on his shoulder.
I am planning to go in the Navy and the NIC I want to make a difference and I wanna change my life and I wanna prove to the Navy and I will never quit and I won’t give up either and I know that I wanna do Special Warfare/ Special Operations and so I wanna be a SEAL because I wanna just prove that I can be a best Navy SEAL and I wanna travel as a Navy SEAL and I wanna I run everyday and I push myself and same at BUDs I won’t quit and I won’t give up like if I was tiered than I would push myself and just keep going and I won’t give up and I won’t ring the bell 🔔 three times and I want to know how I can pass the PST and Pass BUDS to become a Navy SEALs and I have seen in this show the lone survivor that half the guys quit Buds that can’t handle it but me I won’t quit and I won’t give up either and I want to be the best SEAL and so how can I get that Trident to become a SEAL and will this help me with like other jobs like Law Enforcement like the DEA and I wanna be the best Navy SEAL you guys got so how can I be the best as a SEAL ? and how can I prove that I can be the best for them and I won’t quit and I would keep pushing myself and how can I pass BUDs to become a SEAL and than where will I go after BUDs will I go to another area for SEAL training ?
When it comes to special forces videos, disable comments! SAS is the best, no Sayeret is best, SEALs are pussies, blah, blah, blah. A million comments about bullshit by people who have never served in any.
I would have been a S.E.A.L. my friend was a S.E.A.L. HE almost got me 2 join the Navy and gotten me 2. Try out 4 S.E.A.L.'S I didn't pass the test when you first get in the office. Basic test
I WAS A SEAL ONCE. NO, TWICE. YEAH, THAT;S THE TICKET. I COULDNT EVEN SWIM AND THEY WRAPPED ME IN BLUBBER AND PUT SOME WHISKERS ON ME.... 20 MEMBERS OF SEAL TEAM SIX DIED WHEN THE HELICOPTER THEY WERE IN WAS SHOT DOWN BY A SINGLE BULLET FROM A 12 YEAR OLD THAT WAS FIGHTING FOR HIS COUNTRYS FREEDOM. ITS WEIRD. BOTH SIDES ARE FIGHTING FOR FREEDOM. ISNT THAT WEIRD?
***** Respect, man. My cousin served as a Ranger during Desert Storm. All of you guys are equally amazing because you know how to get a job done. Special ops troops aren't like those brats who joins up to pay for college; you guys are true professionals who win wars.
+jfsoccervids Not all special forces in the army are green berets rofl. green berets is it's own mos/series 18xray. rangers are special forces but not green berets. You really ought to take a trip down to Ft.benning or bragg and get a good history lesson. or just walk into a local recruiters office and he/she can fill you in. As far as whos better. well idk, everyone has their high and low moments. And about your comment on Chris Kyle(I know his mouth is your prayerbook). Chris Kyle in short was....Full of shit. While the movie american sniper was good, it did not coincide with his book and there are alot of lies surrounding him. But thats for another conversation. And Delta Force is most defiantly a Tier 1 unit, so idk how that comment even came up. Go do your research, don't just listen to Chris Kyle or people in the media spotlight. Hopefully when I get back into the army( Considering Navy if I can get my hands on one of those Seal contracts) I can get into the special forces community. Although being in the infantry by itself is still bad ass.
+Craig Mager you have to understand, Navy SEALs are tier 2. SAS is Tier 1, which means SAS get longer and harder training. And since you are probably an american crybaby that can't stand hearing anything about units from other parts in the world getting harder training than your SEALs i'll tell you that SFOD-D also gets harder and longer training than SEALs. one day ! you will see me up and coming baby no doubt !

This guys social skills are so intense that I'm uncomfortable
jhvgcygcy With a smile; always with a smile.
+jhvgcygcy I like Chris Heben better . He's a smart guy with chill attitude.
yeah he's like too good at communicating I don't like it. he's like a robot answering each question perfectly
Kaka Man and you are telling us this why?
MR.X they’re both fuckwads - seal or not.
The guy is a Rhodes Scholar but having said that he's almost too articulate, too smooth, and too polished. He comes across like a politician running for office. I almost wish he would just loosen the tie, take a drink and chill.
He's not saying anything that hasn't been said before. But he's so smooth and polished it's almost patronizing.
@ pensfan718766 - Of course he's polished; he is a Navy SEAL who conduct themselves professionally in everything they do. Might be a psychopath.
They actually do build humility in the training. Having a big ego and thinking you're invincible can get you killed in combat.
+MR.X you obviously haven't read american sniper
+jerffer51 I read some of it. He seemed pretty humble in interviews-maybe not the book. Also, I still think they train people to be humble. They also tell people in training not to smoke or do drugs but they do it anyway. Some people just don't listen.
also Chris Kyle lied about lots in his book and on television including his service awards as well as hitting former seal Jesse Ventura
1.) you need to recognize the strengths in everybody around you
21.) you need to recognize that it is not about you. Its not about you going through hard training, its about your ability to make it through that training in order to be of service to others.

Excelent interview, one of the best navy seals advice videos i have seen
This guy doesnt seem to be a trash talker like many of the navy seals being interviewed. I understand that they are bad asses but this guy steals the show being a gentleman with humility. There is no chip on his shoulder.
I learnt to sky rocket my career.....I salute Navy SEAL's for your hand work
i like this guy greitens.he explains things so well
This guys cool but i wouldnt wanna drink a beer with him lol
Eric comes across superbly, such an inspiration!!!
he signed my book
this is so based you dont get interviews like this anymore.
I read his book cover to cover in a few days it was well worth it!! He's a brilliant dude
His hair looks a lot better now. He really did have a hair stylist.
Nobody is born anything.. no one is born a firefighter or a doctor or a Navy SEAL.. it takes dedication training and countless other things.
Just turned 26 and if I can get medically cleared I will become a navy seal
I'm glad navy seals Are not rap ppl they r more metal ppl
+Kelvin Sankar Nah, they're more white country people. The commercials are metal people.
+MR.X No, they are definitely metal with a mix of classic rock
EG's motivation for being at the top of his game - 8:19 mins in - is surprisingly similar to that of the Bodhisattva in Buddhism. Who'da thunk it...
SEAL is just a titled. These guys are already what depicts a Navy SEAL before they ever reach training. Dan Crenshaw said that.
When it comes to special forces videos, disable comments! SAS is the best, no Sayeret is best, SEALs are pussies, blah, blah, blah. A million comments about bullshit by people who have never served in any.
2:01 is not a picture from BUD/s, the real logs they use are much larger.
This man is going to be President one day...mark my words.
Nicholas Denittis you might be right he’s governor of Missouri now
Get drug tested
Corey Dowd wut
He just got indicted for invasion of privacy, and had an affair, but he was a governor.
When you wrote your comment two years ago, I would have agreed with you.
The only thing I disagree with is swimming down 50 feet and tying a not impossible because your lungs can't handle that
Anytime I need a reminder as to why we need Guns in this world, all I have to do is read some of the comments in these UA-cam videos...
That isn't even SEAl training my friend. It is just a demonstration picture.
2:31 does anybody else notice the SEAL Instructors mouth moving?
"captured and killed." No they just killed not captured.
AMAZING........THE TOUGHEST WARRIOR IN THE WORLD ANND SO HUMBLE AS WELL. US NAVY SEALS RULE..........I'M BUYING THE BOOK
I would have been a S.E.A.L. my friend was a S.E.A.L. HE almost got me 2 join the Navy and gotten me 2. Try out 4 S.E.A.L.'S
I didn't pass the test when you first get in the office. Basic test
great interview. great man.
Different people I guess because I've heard the exact opposite. "MADE" not "BORN". Guess it depends on who you talk too, I've never heard it though.
More views Please!

Incredible people Fall for his BS - just wants to boast and talk. And talk and talk and talk
"Hardest military training in the world" ah please it's not even considered the hardest military training in the US.
Your an idiot
Craig Mager are you having a bad day or did you feel the need to call someone an idiot?
What training is harder? SAS? Lol
+Craig Mager you have to understand, Navy SEALs are tier 2. SAS is Tier 1, which means SAS get longer and harder training.
