This podcast means everything to me and I have to say why: when I was 12 I was OBSESSED with you guys and specifically with Jorma. I would binge your videos every night, and my camera roll from back then is full of screenshots of Jorm. I ran Instagram fan pages for all three of you. The day I found out that Jorm was married, I was genuinely heartbroken. I thought somehow I was gonna overcome that 24 year age gap. Fortunately I got over my heartbreak and am still an eternal fan! Thank you guys for Popstar, Hot Rod, the shorts and everything in between.
It just started. You haven't missed anything. So many Digital shorts to talk about. I'm excited for Lazer Catz, Reba, Dear Sister, I'm on a Boat, Shy Ronnie, and so much more.
I still have a VHS tape with the Jack Black episode recorded on it. Classic. His line about "a portal to Hoth" is quote i revist ever winter. And Forte's spelling bee sketch was gold.
I still very fondly remember when my friend introduced me to "the heist" back in the dial up days. I still listen to "the heist" and "kablammo" pretty regularly
@@rotherthies I know dude, I meant lonely island, all three together. even though they have been working on multiple projects with other people, none of them have been for lonely island.
I think we can also owe Lonely Island credit for Hamilton Broadway play. I mean they were the first to really rap about Burr vs Hamilton, ahead of their time.
@@jkap34are people still really correcting people on this? this guy im sure is aware that there is music in the show. He literally just said the wrong word.
Parnell is still a constant source of entertainment. I've loved Chris since he was in Archer and I still love him to this day for his role in Nature Cat on PBS. my children are going to grow up knowing Chris Parnell
Lazy Sunday also helped made Hamilton... You can call me Aaron Burr from the way I'm dropping Hamilton's. That's lived in my head for years... Everytime I used a 10 dollar bill lol
This is a deep cut, but in 07, there was a digital short called “Iran So Far Away”. Look it up. I remember when it aired and has stuck with me since! SNL
I love comedy music! You mentioned Tenacious D. The D and TLI are my top 2 music of all time! With that said, I'm always looking for others... who else does this 🙂
So fun hearing this backstory. I was a big Awesometown, the Bu, and channel 101 fan in the early oughts. Was great to see that style break through on SNL and I think you guys perfected it with the Portman rap (which I hope you all discuss soon). #Frap4Lyfe
I got a fancy video-capable iPod when I went to college and the only videos I ever loaded to it were Such Great Heights by The Postal Service, an ATHF episode, and Lazy Sunday. And Lazy Sunday was the only one I watched on it with any regularity.
I remember having it on our TIVO it was on there for years. As a matter of fact it might still be on there. my parents got a new cable box with a built in DVR so it just got unplugged. Now it ives with the 8track player and real 2 real behind the big entertainment center I don’t think the new tv has a coaxial cable but I know it is still back behind the tv. Out of site out of mind
I think it's important to point out that Jorma and the Edmund actor Skander Keynes in Chronicles of Narina look similar. Well not important, but a point.
Are we doing a corrections episode like on Late Night? Because I want to point out, I think Pete Davidson technically did make a few comedy raps in recent years.
While on the subject of milf waps, i hope they have all acknowledged that they are in fact dilfs. This conclusion has been curated by a plethora of reliable sources, also known as the lonely island fandom accounts on Twitter (now known as X)
“Mr. Pibb and Red Vines equals crazy delicious” pops into my head at least 3x a week for the last 20 years.
Am loving this podcast. Seth's always been really honest and humble about his work and I'm glad TLI are the same. 🥰

Spelling bee KILLED me. I'm dead now & forever, & glad it was Will that did it.
Absolutely loved hearing about Awesometown! We used to watch that pilot all the time
Andy here and I love a good sandwich, so if you like sandwich come roll with me!

“ how would you like to get shot? Me and my friend smoke pot“😂
Been a fan for a long time! Love those guys!
Spelling Bee is one of the best sketches of all time. This is not debatable.
will forte is the best lol
I wonder if they can even name drop “Awesometown.” My buddies and I still quote that to this day. EXPLODING HIGH FIVE!!
Omg I just cried laughing at the spelling bee
even though this isn't a new music video, still to hear you guys after all this time is great. thanks for the podcasts
You know Andy had a show after snl right? Ran 7 seasons. And a couple movies. Just sayin, they are still producing content.

It's a musical, not a play. Almost closer to an opera, as there is very little spoken dialog. Not quite Les Mis, but pretty close.

A The Lonely Island podcast is something I never knew I needed 😍😍
the knowledge that these guys lived with the Radio Silence guys is mind blowing
Ayyye reviving this channel I'm here for it
YES YES YES keep them coming!!
Saw y’all do this one with Parnell at Bonnaroo ❤ People STILL quote “Meet me at Pod 2 by the ice machine. Bad Bitches Only.” It was a legendary set.

Lazy Sunday almost 20 years old - Love The Lonely Island (some call them TLI) - Lazy Sunday was integral into launching UA-cam into popularity.

14:55 Seth's Fight The Power joke is just gold. That's like Dick Cavett level quick thinking.
This is the only podcast I need ILY ❤❤❤
Spell It Out and Semicolon are the greatest songs of all time. fight me

i remember finding a coat that looked like andy's in this sketch, and i bought it and wore it just so i could look like him lol
Yay! Chester mention at 10:22
And Stork Patrol!!
I wish Jorma talked about the Stork Patrol beat, it's so good
I remember this episode hen it was on tv. It was such a good one, we even recorded it on a vhs.

Kablamo is a classic!
Being very self-effacing and admitting that Magnolia was already famous, while also claiming Supreme is exactly why i love TLI 😂
Lettuce was a viral hit before Lazy Sunday. Lettuce brought me to Lonely Island...
Lazy Scranton
“Was that supposed to be funny?”
Noodles in the pot, my God, my God!
