  • The Killer of Fossil Gulch western TV series episode starring Cary Grant and Lance Graf von Haugwitz Hardenberg Reventlow this is from the early 1950s. This some very comical stuff from Cary Grant. This is episode 89 of The Forsaken Westerns, an original TV series produced by Westerns On The Web Productions in cooperation with The Westerns Channel. This episode was originally released on December 20 of 2020 on The Westerns Channel. Cary Grant was Lance Reventlow's stepfather. Lances father was Count Kurt Haugwitz-Hardenberg-Reventlow. His mother was heiress Barbara Hutton. Heiress to one-third of the estate of the retail tycoon Frank Winfield Woolworth. Barbara Hutton at one time was one of the wealthiest women in the world. She was married to Cary Grant from 1942 - 1945. Cary married Betsy Drake in 1949. The couple co-starred in the radio series Mr. and Mrs. Blanding. Drake wrote the original script for Houseboat. Betsy filmed this fun western spoof on an 8mm home movie camera as a fun gift from her and Cary for Lance. This was filmed while they were all staying at the famous Ghost Ranch retreat. The Ranch is located close to the village of Abiquiú in Rio Arriba County in north central New Mexico. The landscape of Ghost Ranch was made famous by painter Georgia O’Keeffe it encompasses 21,000 acres of towering rock walls, vivid colors, vast skies and lots of fossils. Roy Pfaffle won the deed to the ranch in a poker game sometime early in 1928, his wife, Carol Stanley, recorded the deed in her name and decided to name the place Ghost Ranch. Carol constructed guest quarters and created an exclusive dude ranch that was visited by many of the wealthy and creative people of that time. She sold the ranch to Arthur Pack in 1935. As Pack aged he got concerned how the ranch would be passed on. He spoke with several organizations about having and maintaining the ranch. But many of them did not have the means to care for the ranch. He spoke with the Presbyterians and they accepted the offer of using the space as an educational facility. Now, the ranch is used as an educational center and retreat with over 300 classes offered each year. In this fun home made western Lance is a killer and robber. Cary plays several fun parts. It is a silent movie but is a fun enjoyable western episode that has never aired on TV. Lance went on to become a fairly successful race car driver and entrepreneur. He was married to Jill St. John from 1960 - 1963 and then married ex-Mouseketeer Cheryl Holdridge in 1964. The Killer of Fossil Gulch was not really made as a tv show pilot but would be a great pilot for a series dealing with peoples attempts at making their on films and movies back in the 1950s with their home movie cameras. There are many examples of these sort of fun projects out there. The Forsaken Westerns series contains episodes of TV shows and films that were never broadcast or have not been broadcast in as many as 65 years. Almost lost forever, these rare television film treasures are now being released and uploaded for viewing from Bob and Johnie Terry's personal archive's of thousands of western films in their collection. 😂. What a dandy. It’s done beautifully. And a lot is said that wasn’t said. Leaving the mind to romantic inspiration.

Looks like an amateur filmed documentary and
a home movie combined with a cast of extras
that don't speak just act without saying a word
at all and Cary Grant in a supporting role is it
good or bad it doesn't matter it was just for the
fun of it and it really is very funny and it isn't even
a comedy it was a western or was it????🤠🤠🤠🤠
