i don't mind your old card reader if anything those marks on the wall are worse. why not get the nzxt external kit. The one that is meant for your monitor and use it down under the table and sub for it can match your pc lights

Another question, what do you prefer, normal monitors, gaming monitors , or (can be gaming) curved monitors?
My monitors are really cheap. They are only around £152.99, 60Hz, 1080p, VA Panel, 1ms RT.
In the future i'd love to get some higher end monitors for the setup. They would definitely be "gaming monitors" with at least 100Hz refresh rate, VA or IPS panel and if I can afford it, maybe even G-Sync (curved would also be a nice bonus). However, with all these fancy features the price would be much, much higher than a "normal monitor".
So if you can afford it, go ahead and buy a high-end gaming monitor, or stick to normal monitors.

You could have mounted the dongle card reader (the one that sticks out)underneath the desk and had a usb extender run to the back of your pc
