- It's been a long time coming, but here it is, my dualtage with Sgt. Enigma. I really hope you guys enjoy this!
I've been working at this montage on and off for too long, mostly because of just lack of editing inspiration, but in the last few weeks I really picked up the pace to see this through. Enigma has also been on hiatus for the summer, so the clips for him (and for me) are rather dated by now, but I think they still have some very enjoyable moments. So, flick on 1080p and Full Screen, and enjoy!

Fair enough, it's his area of expertise anyway ;) I tried to combine our clips to create a balance of my streak clips, balanced by enigma's variety of epic sniper shots.
Best tips I can give for aggressive recon playing, is ALWAYS throw your grenade (or two if you have) in the area you're attacking to, so you can lower the health of your enemies for easier one hit kill. And try and learn to always switch to your pistol after a sniper shot, so you can finish the enemy if he doesn't die. I recommend the M1911 because it switches very quickly and only takes one bullet after a bolt action hitmarker to kill.
Such a subjective thing that it's hard to say, but I'd go with rivaL Xfactor. Even though he mainly plays with the best weapons like M16A3 (or used to) and on maps like Metro, he's still a very versatile player, and his gunskill and awareness are insane, which I guess are just from his highly competitive gaming side. A lot of youtubers are good players, not saying that, but Xfactor is on a different level.
I'd suggest trying to get better with either the SV98 or M40A5 and use low-powered scopes on them, like the Acog or PKA3.4, cause those don't give any glare, and once you practice a bit you can easily use them for long range shots as well, but they're at the same time better suited for closer shots.
Yeah, I'm sry about the quick cuts. I had to do some last minute adjustments to the syncing, and also remove some boring clips and replace them with better ones, so some parts were a bit rushed. Point taken, will pay closer attention to the clip pacing next time =)
Video-editing that is usually found in gameplay montages may contain parts of gameplay that are sped-up or slowed down, to make the gameplay impacts sync with the music.
I currently have a Razer Imperator 4G, but I've used a Steel Series Ikari Laser before that, both are excellent gaming mice, propably the best quality you can get.

I heard he's been working at his primary job for the summer, and just taking a break from UA-cam. He'll propably be back for the fall/winter.

Love your videos man. IMHO best Battlefield 3 montages if not best montages on youtube. I just have a brief question. Do you ever have problems rendering your videos where they end up either being to dark when you upload them to youtube or you can't render them at all because of fraps? I'm wanting to get into montage making myself and I ran into a roadblock of techinical issues and after countless hours of researching this problem and trying new things nothing works. Thx Threatty!!
PC has hit detection that works, I'm personally on PS3 and I have shot people in the chest at point blank even (not to mention within the 15m) after the so called "aggressive recon" patch for snipers and I just get so many hitmarkers you wouldn't believe it. And it's just again the fact that it's easier to shoot a specific part of the body with a mouse as opposed to a controller so that's another thing too.
It is said in the book of Time, that one day the two greatest aggressive recon montage directors would come together to make a montage of epic proportions.. that day, has arrived. I will tell my future children and grandchildren that I witnessed this.. God bless you Threatty and Enigma. I want your babies.

okey, thats SICK. at first it was a lil bit embarrassing the speed switching between the kills, but in the end i used to it. but plz! dont overuse it, like its doing in the counter-strike videos nowdays. i like to see the aim movement before a kill, not JUST a kill. anyway great work man as usual.

is he playing on hardcore mode?? how is he getting 1 shot kills without aiming on the head?
Any tips what so ever on NOT getting hitmarkers with snipers?? I always aim for the chest or head and I still get LOADS of hitmarkers. Advice is much welcomed :)

When I watch these videos I kick myself for not recording my own gameplay because I've had many similar kills and some downright disgusting sections of ownage in the past =]
I remember hitting a jeep driver who went airborne just as I fired my shot and the bullet took him out one shot to the head in mid-air at the top of the jeep's jump with a marksman bonus of about 300 metres ;D
Now I have ordered a PC to play on though I am going to start showing the world what I can do - watch your heads!
You should not making these "analyzes" based of gameplay that is edited. But if we go into detail with your "finding" you can actually see a half second BEFORE he engages, that the enemy actually is on the minimap.
Also dont forget that editors often have to take a small piece of footage out in order to either make the sync better or to make it look like he has these crazy reflex-skills, where it looks like he just 1 FPS later has his gun glued to the enemies face.

Is this the first time you've seen someone steal a heli after shooting out the pilot? This is a good quality vid but I think pretty much the World and his wife have now done the pilot shootout and then dive to catch the heli trick in BF3 =/
Take a look at MongolFPS or AnderZEL too, they make these aggressive recon montages and are just as good =]

I've learnt so much from you Threatty and Enigma and I became reasonably good at aggressive recon in BFBC2. I've been trying the same with BF3 but the sniper rifles require more accuracy for a one shot kill.
Any tips for a BF3 recon n00b? eg. when to use red-dot optics, acog, or default ballistic scope
I have to ask in all honesty how long does it take you to get this type of footage daily? For when CoD4 was big people had to play 10 games for one good random no scope headshot and edit it all into one game and battlefield is a much more complicated game so seriously, how long does it take you? or are you just jesus?

its because he jumped while running up those stairs, it made him go in the vault over animation.
Threatty's footage was so much crisper. Having proper capturing tools really pays off. Not that Enigma's was bad, but when you see the two side by side (or right after another, as the case may be here) you really see the difference.
Would this have been an Assault, it would have been very good gameplay on its own. Doing this with a Bolt-Action, is just taking the piss. I considered myself to be rather good with Recon. Thanks for destroying that delusion and setting the bar higher.
2:12 is so sick nasty that it made me re-evaluate my no scoping ability. I thought I was decent. But that was like watching Kobe go for 30 in the 4th quarter or seeing a pitcher throw a no hitter or something. Damn that was sick.

Ah, most hate on Razer comes from kids treating their products like they're tanks. And maybe. It depends on his surface too. I use a QcK+ mouse mat from Steelseries and it's probably the best combo I've used.
Threatty has the best and epic videos on youtube with BF 3, i like your videos a lot you are my favorite between all editors and montage makers. Kepp up and i hope i can see more of these and often of course :D.

Impressive. I can't use anything above 4x scope due to "scope glint." Try being a sneaky recon on Hardcore with a suppressor and no glint scope, it's fun being so close to the enemy without them knowing ur exact position.
WTF are you saying lmfao. Threatty had much better clips, and longer streaks. Sgt Enigma got like a 3 killstreak,used his pistol most of them time and only got lucky parachute shots. Did you even watch the vid?
how much you must play to get that level... this is insane. Choppa clip was fuckin crazy, It's like the best action movie stunt. Shame in battlefield there is no spectator mode I would like to watch it from 3rd person.
Hitbox in BF3 is: If you hit enemy in the head or cheast its a one shot kill atleast thats what ive seen with my aggressive recon experience!!! (not sure about the cheast kill on long ranges!!)
