Man. I remember playing this game, and the Vietnam expansion, with a 7.1 surround speaker setup, when I was a teenager. My dad complained about the bass so much that I had to mod my subwoofer so I could turn it down lower. The whole house was shaking. What a time to be alive.
back when they did expansion packs for $15 basically a whole new game compared to todays standards. crazy to think gaming peaked back then and we were all teenagers. didnt know how good we had it before all the bullshit now.

I probably watched Full Metal 3 over 100 times over the years. Showed it to my kids several times. I still go back and watch just to get back to basics and slow the fuck down from the frantic gameplay I'm used to now. The best montage ever in my opinion.
Bad company 2 was just such an amazing time man. Why cant we have games like this anymore. So simple, so straight forwards and yet so rewarding to be good at. Truly the glory days of BF on pc.
@@ggezlol-are you sure? Your trolling me 😂. All the battlefields had multiplayer. Battlefield 2142 had multiplayer and that was 2-3 years older than bad company 1. I have several clips on the 360 playing it. But I do agree both bad company games were goated
The blaring siren going silent for multiple seconds because of an explosion creates such an intense vibe, cause you can see the light flashing in time to when you should otherwise hear it.
Thanks to modders, i still play this masterpiece. Best BF ever. I even downloaded some of your montages, so even it's not available on youtube, i can still watch it in 20 years and remember the good old days.

The competition between shooter devs at the time was so fierce, they couldn't afford to be lazy or too greedy so each game was super polished and filled to the brim with unique features.
Exactly. War Tapes was the audio setting that really gave you that absolute cachophony of combat, what an amazing piece of sound design for the Battlefield series it was.
I remember being so disappointed with the Audio in BF3 when it finally released. Don’t get me wrong it was good but just didn’t hold a candle to Bad Company 2’s.
Yes this game really had the best audio engine. The way the reverb would dynamically change depending if your character was indoors or outdoors was great. Truly an amazing experience pushing into an enemy held building with all the gunshots and explosions echoing while the walls were blowing up around you.
One of my cherished memories was waking up early in the morning before school so I could play Arica Harbour. When the BF3 trailer got announced I was so hyped I started playing BC2 even more. I remember when the Open Beta was out on PS3 I went back to play BC2 and could hardly find a game because everyone was on the beta lol;
it really gives goosebumps, not just the game, but your videos as well. The nostalgia from the Full Metal series you did back then just goes surging in. Thank you very much for creating this channel mr Threatty!
The Return of The King Preach. Not much is as satisfying as taking down helicopters from the sky with the M136 AT4. Going down memory lane of the pipsqueak days of Xbox 360 & my first gaming PC. Nostalgia (for simpler times)
Can you believe that watching only 20 seconds of video I remembered perfectly this one when you created it back in the day? I'm not talking about the nostalgia of the game, I'm talking about the fact that your video after so much time still comes to my mind from the first time I saw it. Incredible.
It’s really nice to see you’re still alive and well man; your content inspired and educated thousands including myself. Just rewatched Full metal 3 reliving the glory days.
This sound design was absolutely stunning. The focus on the reverb and echo of large explosions, and the tight reverb when in buildings really brings the sounds to life. Think of gunfire in Michael Mann movies, they are a world apart from others because of a focus on gunfire echo, which is a real thing that is often overlooked. Thanks for a flashback to a fantastic game.
The sound from this game was phenomenal with War Tapes enabled in the audio settings. I had a surround spund set up hooked to my PS3, in which there were days where I had to just stop playing early due to my ears ringing
What makes this game different from its successors is the lack of visual clutter in the UI/HUD and the distinct sounds cues within an already phenomenal audio design. I miss the callouts of the soldiers which can be heard both in Russian and English.
Your metal videos are still the best! Nobody comes close still in 2024! Thx for still doing it! Gaming will feel not the same if you leave too ( Hey Frankie on pc ) hahaha. I miss Levelbf times ;)
It's crazy I think I started my FPS journey with this game. My brother had it on his computer and I played it in a lounge chair with a mousepad on a nightstand and keyboard in my lap lol. I remember this game had amazing audio and I think the only time I heard a game with similar levels of audio quality was the first black ops. It wasn't as insane but it was definitely something I noticed. I feel like all the other Battlefields sound fine but nothing sounded as atmospheric as this game. I think Battlefield Hardline was actually pretty close in terms of audio quality but since that game flopped I guess they fired half the audio engineers or something. Always good to see a Threatty video!
100% agree on this. This is by far the best BF audio design, BF3 was good and BF 1 was good too, may close to this one, but still this audio the sounds, the ambience was brilliant.
Special Activities Division?.....HELL FUCKING YES!!!. Man the sounds of the UH60 blackhawk whilst being a gunner is the most satisfying realistic war audio I have ever heard.
Also you made some incredible plays, there were several times you should’ve died but fought hard. The multiple knife kills after the no scope had me saying YOOOOO out loud
I thought this video seemed familiar and yes the description confirms it, gameplay from 2011!! :D I remember watching this video so many years ago (and IT STILL LOOKS EPIC)... Idk if it's cause I was younger back then or is BFBC2 truly such a superior game but the feeling of epic fun I had in that game is better then what I remember BF3 feeling like and for sure better then BF4 (am playing BF4 now, never was interested in any newer Battlefield after BF4)... I think those games had better balance, vehicles felt less oppressive and there was just less weapons of mass destruction and guided rockets falling down from the sky all the time (though there was a tiny bit of that too just way less)... BF4 just feels like a massive mosh pit where you spawn directly into the line of fire, everything is just way too damn quick and aggressive... Everything feels slower in BFBC2 and I think that is what gives it such a good/epic feeling... also maps had perfect mixes of vehicle and infantry gameplay, no helicopters or jets going on a 100 killstreak and shiz like that. xd Games should to have a bit of calm between action, if it's just CONSTANT ACTION you get numb to it. If I just killed someone, he doesn't need to spawn 10 meters away from me in 6 seconds again lol.
Bc2 had a very special type of chaos going on in full lobbies that I dont think newer bf had. I think looking back to it, all the sounds were very loud. Its like "full of sounds" love it 😢
