Danny Buchanan Agree, Migos and Cardi B took it and made something that was easy to dance and party to, Kendrick Lamar is committed to the actual hip hop craft. But this is the genre at its highest form. It’s like Coltrane and Kenny G both playing jazz, but...

That's how everybody who started living they emcee fantasies started by emulating some of the best to find themselves an develope they own style... except for ODB no father to his style Lol!
i love that even when flex was talking over him, he didn't stumble once. so focused, four bars ahead in his mind, but his flow didn't break for a second. fucking insane
Do you think he came up with this on the spot? He isnt 4 bars ahead in his mind, thats not even how freestyling works, but even then this was pre written obviously. It’s simply not possible to simultaneously have such a condensed rhyme scheme alongside such deep concepts while freestyling off top
@kevinreynolds3594 I may be wrong but I think it's a mix. He's performed this other times, but I can't find any other recordings this long. I think he's doing a lot of improvisation over a framework he already has. Kinda how jazz musicians always have a melody to fall back on, but they spend most of their time improvising.
@@Jackson... regardless of how he flows over the beat, these lyrics are written, there is no question about that. If you don’t understand that (which I assume you do), it’s simply not possible to have this level of conceptual depth alongside such a condensed rhyme scheme in one freestyle, it’s simply not humanly possible.
@kevinreynolds3594 yeah that was my point, a lot if not all of this was written. That doesn't really make it much less impressive, but it is important to clarify. It still takes a master to deliver these obscenely complex lines in such an effortlessly impressive way. He's just dancing around the beat, and he knows just how to build up and release rhythmic tension. Black Thought has always been a GOAT in my eyes, seeing this just solidifies it.
Black Thought is Gifted he makes me feel lifted with his lyrics. Damn men you still got it skill give me chills. He is a blessed man. Long live Black thought!!!🤩😍😄 Forever a fan😆😃

@@Hardluckchuck Even if they didn't know, part of reading and comprehension is looking for context and meaning. If you hear Kane and Abel and Jesus and Judas and then a third pair whom you don't know you can safely assume the context is betrayal and the last pair are 2 people with a betrayal history because the context of the other 2 pairs. When I was in school as a child, one of the biggest things I saw was that folks struggled with reading comprehension and debate topics, mostly because they didn't really care about them. Comprehension is understanding what you are reading and why it makes sense but debate topics are a range of topics in comprehension and understanding where you have to pull information out of passages to then provide an answer to a question OR make a point based on the information you pulled from to make your own point/stance. I can tell on Social media, a lot of folks ignored this as children simply because of comments like yours. The bar was self explanatory, so what was the point of your comment? you didn't understand it was self explanatory. And why didn't you know that Chuck?
First listen = phat beat and this guy can rhyme words for ten minutes! Second listen = ten minutes? One take? Woah...he ain't just flexin throughout. This makes sense. Fifth listen = someone put a glass case around that mic. Relocate the radio station. This is now a hip hop museum.

I don't think anyone can beat the stamina or lyricism of black thought, but I don't see why people constantly act like trap rappers and lyrical rappers can't coexist when Kendrick Lamar is both.
Danny Buchanan Agree, Migos and Cardi B took it and made something that was easy to dance and party to, Kendrick Lamar is committed to the actual hip hop craft. But this is the genre at its highest form. It’s like Coltrane and Kenny G both playing jazz, but...
This one verse is better than a lot of other rappers entire career
Miguel Jacobo Truth! 🙏🏼
Miguel Jacobo huge facts
Miguel Jacobo damn it’s crazy cause it’s not even a joke
Hell yeah!
lol thats so true
This never gets old. I come back every month. This and the one with Meth on Sway….gold.
Black Thought didnt freestyle..he gave a PHD Dissertation.
😂😂😂💀 I’m surprised that 🎤 is fully functional to be honest #he’sABEAST
This man spoke an entire thesis
EXACTLY !!!! I was saying he str8t took mfs to school with history lessons to do homework on , but YES you put in better terms fr
Facts 😂
not even PhDs can do this
What’s crazy to me is the fact he started as soon as the beat came in, and just didn’t stop. He felt it instantly
cuz this ain't off the dome, probably a bunch of rhymes he's been working on
We know… its still one of the illest feats ever. Quit hating.
@@jojotwice8918 yeah but still, he ain’t even feel the beat out or nun fr. He just went straight at it. It’s still impressive to perform at that high level nonstop even if it is pre written
We need stretch and bobbito back flex is wack af and they play shitty beats on hot97 a real hip hop legend like black thought deserves real hip hop beats not this bullshit
Eh says a bunch without saying anything. No thanks
You've heard 16s, 32s, and 64s...But this man dropped 238 bars...no stumble...off the top...first take..........He is immortal
Revengeance 1000 bars EkoFresh ?
There's been rappers who've dropped more than that, like Game, but Black Thought did it live, with no flaws, and with so much goddamn lyricism.
Nigga dropped more bars than some rappers have in their entire career.
Revengeance this was a written freestyle, not off the top. Be reasonable now come on
freestyle doesn´t mean it has to be off the top. it´s obviously not. Too fire and complex bars. But definitely one of the best freestyles in history.
I swear this will stand the test of time as the greatest 1 take freestyle. What a masterclass. I've listened countless times and every time I'm blown away.
I truly believe this is one of if not the greatest freestyle of all time.
It is
Dizzy on felle fel tho

Fuckin insane bruh
Just randomly came past this comment while he was spitting it. Cosmic
My yearly homage, I'm here again to respect this masterpiece from Kenya 🇰🇪
Fire bars🔥
Kenya 🇰🇪 👍🏾
you ever hear a freestyle so good, that you think some of their residual talent attached to you giving you the ability to rap on the same level ...then you try cause you so hype and quickly get reminded that there's a reason why you're not them
You know he practised to become this good, right? If you want to be good at anything, you practise. Simple. You work hard.
wunas96 I know haha ...my comment wasn't meant to be taken too seriously , but major props to him for practicing to perfect his craft ...dude is beyond talented
Great art inspires people in various ways. There is video here on youtube with the gza and neil degrasse tyson the astrophysicist and they talk about how physicists now were inspired by Wu Tang lyrics while studying in school.
Enrique Suazo Definitely have to check that out
That's how everybody who started living they emcee fantasies started by emulating some of the best to find themselves an develope they own style... except for ODB no father to his style Lol!
i love that even when flex was talking over him, he didn't stumble once. so focused, four bars ahead in his mind, but his flow didn't break for a second. fucking insane
@@kevinreynolds3594it’s humanly impossible for this to be off dome. Whether it’s completely written or a combination I’m not sure.
“With the slightest inflammatory remark, I’ll have you and the living a category apart.” Might be the best bar I’ve ever heard in my life.

"I never thought you'd give me a reason to do this, Kane and Abel, Jesus And Judas, Caesar And Brutus..." All betrayed by someone that claimed they loved them, that's crazy, phenomenal freestyle.
Not everyone knows who Caesar and Brutus is.
@@Hardluckchuck ok ? 😭
@@Hardluckchuck I'm not sure if you're speaking as to everyone or yourself not knowing who they are?
@@Hardluckchuck we know you have no idea what he was talking about no need to embarrass yourself
6yrs, 3.9 million views, and im still here listening to this for thousandth time. Black Thought is INCREDIBLE!

I will borrow that line forever. You have just contributed to Hip-Hop in a major way!
First listen = phat beat and this guy can rhyme words for ten minutes!
Second listen = ten minutes? One take? Woah...he ain't just flexin throughout. This makes sense.
Third listen = Jeez there are some salient points here about history and things to be learned for the future.
Fourth listen = I'm gonna have to Google some of these references and imagery.
Fifth listen = someone put a glass case around that mic. Relocate the radio station. This is now a hip hop museum.
THAT IS CALLED HIP HOP. IT ENLIGHTENS.
