Maybe encouraging/looking for adaptable employees would be good for handling change, or maybe training the most specialized employees in a field that isn't on it's way out to an extent at least, could help mitigate the damage that change can do to them.
That's sure true! What I always laugh at is it seems like every time a new manager comes in they say "Oh, I don't see a lot of change coming; things seem to be running fairly well and I don't want to mess with it." Then inevitably three months later: massive changes!
