  • In this video we head to Baden Wurtenburg to visit the Hohenzollern Castle on our way to the Black forest. We alk about our experience and give some tips for visiting. This castle while surprisingly new is an impressive hilltop castle. This castle was built to show of the royal Hohenzollern family and their rich history. The royal family never actally lived here but it now acts as a museum with their family relics. This is a great stop if you are near Stuttgart.

@@trailblazinpeppers There is this castle of course but also Hohenneuffen Castle which was built around years 1100 to 1120, it has lot of hiking trails and a restaurant there. Mercedes and Porsche museums. Porsche is more interactive I think. Cannstatter Volksfest and the best wine fest in fall is in Stuttgart Mitte. There is also a pig museum. The best Doener kebab was voted Alaturka in Stuttgart by German newspaper 2 years ago. There is more I am sure but we have only been here since last August and we kind of haven't really started our travels yet. Best wishes to you 4

Late comment, but I do remember seeing the coffins of Frederik the Great and his father in the chapel of the castle where they were brought to after WW II. (During the war, they had been taken from Potsdam near Berlin to various safe places - bunkers, churches etc.). The remains of both kings were taken back to Potsdam in 1991, after the German reunification, where they found the last and hopefully now permanent rest.
