I have friends who desperately need to see this. One of my best mates has been completely radicalized by the last 6 months and won’t vote for Biden, which to me is a) completely morally bankrupt and b) entirely inconsistent with her own sense of morality. I don’t want to try and deradicalize her from shitty Finkelstein scholarship and 19 year old idiots on twitter with yet another social media video, but I don’t know where else to start.
I’m scared, man. Scared that because “America Bad” is a purely emotional position and not based on any consistent epistemic framework, that it’s all so personal I won’t be able to meaningfully push back without damaging friendships. It really breaks my heart.

Sorry to see that. Have you asked them if they are aware of Project 2025 and of the Republicans’ plan to ban abortion and birth control nationally? If those things don’t concern them enough to vote against Trump, I’d suggest asking them if they’re hoping Trump’s victory would somehow encourage a communist revolution. Also, it might help. Point out that in red states, abortion and trans rights are being eroded yet those rights are being protected in blue states, which completely sinks the idea that Democrats and Republicans are the same

Do I vote for a person, who may very well just forget about supporting the Palestinians the day after his election while also giving Israel every single weapon and armament an army could ever want in WW2, or do I vote for the guy who will give Israel everything they ask for but not pretend to give a shit about the Palestinians? Id rather vote someone else who gives a shit about the Palestinians. I view Biden as too little too late.

Also I liked how bro was very adamant he wasn't a one-issue voter. Because it seems he actually was an omni-issue voter. Apparently if any issue exists where he's dissatisfied with a candidate, he won't vote for them and so come what may. "Why are you talking about This One Issue? What about This One Other Issue?"
I'm sure in his utopia with electoralism gone meaning where leaders are not elected at all, he'll be very happy with how the system will consistently produce people meeting his omni-standards sitting at the top.

It is obvious that Biden is a far superior option than Trump and while this election is very important for the future of American democracy, it is completely understandable why so many people feel demoralized that the choice is between Trump and Biden again. People are so sick of having to choose between the lesser of two evils, and while a Trump victory will be devastating for America, Biden represents an establishment that is completely out of touch with the average American citizen that is struggling to make ends meet while they only care about enriching themselves. And even worse, are complicit in Israel's slaughter in Gaza. Presidential Elections should be about what direction do American's want their country to go, and what policies can the government implement to achieve this path. It should not be a choice between a wannabe dictator and a normal status quo politician who nobody wants but at least he is better than the other guy. It is obvious anyone with a conscience should vote for Biden over Trump if they want a future, but they have every right to despise the choice they are presented with.

I’ve been trying to reason with some of them but they’re insane. I was just talking to someone last week about Trump vs Biden on Palestine and they believe that both of them are the same. They then laid out their plan to get a ceasefire… punish the Dems for supporting genocide and let the GOP rule to collapse America. Then when America collapses, Zionism (Israel) by extension collapses and there is a permanent ceasefire.
Edit: No matter how much I showed them that Biden is better on every issue, including Gaza, and that a ceasefire under him would be 10x more likely than under trump, they wouldn’t budge. From the convo, it seemed like they cared more about punishing the democrats than actually getting a ceasefire done ASAP.

Nothing will ever be perfect. Gradual improvement is all there is. Compromising with people you disagree with is the very essence of politics. 22:40 That's a little naive though. Or maybe not. The thing is more like agreeing to a ceasefire is not the same as complying with it. That's a reason Israel (or anyone in their place, like Ukraine with respect to negotiating with Putin) won't accept a permanent ceasefire if Hamas is in power. Because it won't work. The law on water supply. Water supply is considered civilian, even if soldiers drink water too. It is protected and you cannot target water supply. If water supply infrastructure is used for military purposes then that military infrastructure can be targeted and in that case the water structure would be considered collateral damage. All of this is legal.
What is illegal is targeting the water infrastructure when there is no military purpose. In essence water infrastructure is treated as if it were human civilians.
What Israel was doing before the war was pumping it's own water into gaza. It is this pumping that Biden 'encouraged' Israel to resume. Israel is not obligated in any way under international law to provide water to gaza. Note, this is water that is never paid for.

7 minutes in and I already don’t want to listen to the rest. Your argument hinges on, Biden is committing helping slow genocide vs trump who would have done it quick and far worst. This is on the same level of questioning of, would you rather live in Soviet Russia under Stalin, or East Germany under hitler..? Both options suck. Pulling hairs of, Biden is objectively better because he isn’t as draconian as Trump is very pathetic. A genocide is a genocide. That 250 million or whatever that I stopped at, means shit. When Israel continues to block over 70% of trucks, and we drop what, 41,000 meals?! That’s 1 meal for 1 person of about 2 million people who need it, for a freaking day. And air dropping is first come first served, which is why people got squashed by the drop. Do not even try to say Biden is better. Because he ain’t. Also like to add, building a makeshift port that will take 2 months to build, waste of my freaking money. They will all be dead by then.

A "viable" third party is literally impossible without taking that step.
