  • Jony's belief in service and care absolutely hit home with me, and are fundamental to finding happiness in all one's work. I learned the importance of trusting your own process from Jony Ive. He also helped me come back to asking myself why I make the decisions I make. This is Jony Ive's Creative Process, enjoy.
    Hi, It's Anoah.
    Focus has been my biggest Challenge and Fear. I was diagnosed with ADHD as a kid and ever since I’ve Doubted myself when it comes to Focus. That's why I'm committed to learning about Focus. Every Monday I share a video about how professionals in their field stay Focused. I’m making Focus the Center of my Life.
    See you Monday! Stay focused.

    "good design is as little as possible" is one of 10 design rules of the legendary designer Dieter Rams, who was behind Braun's infamous products, which influence can be very vividly seen in Apple's products of Jony's times. iPod is almost a copy paste from Braun's T3 pocket radio.

      Fun fact of life in general: there is far more beauty and authenticity in simplicty.
      This literally applies to everything and anything you can think of. The human mind intuitvly is designed to detect things that are 'bloated', 'overcompensatory' to the point we instantly reject them.

    It's unfortunate that Apple does not abide by much of what Ive talks about. Apple no longer is focused on servicing others, but rather charging for services can be gotten elsewhere for significantly less and work just as well. They desperately need Ive's ethos back.

      Don’t forget that Jony Ive also was behind a $10,000 18 karat gold Apple Watch. There’s a strong interplay between a company that makes money by making things for people and the ideas that go into those things being made. Money supports those ideas.
      First and foremost, Apple is a hardware company. Services are an easy money funnel into the products being built. For instance, the Mac brought in 6.5% revenue while Services brought in over 19% in the Q1 2024 financial results. The only thing that made more money was the iPhone (no surprise, it was a wide margin at nearly 60%). Services help bring in money to build the products that Apple makes. Whether other services work well for less, is subjective. The money that  Services generates is not.
      Also, the end of the day a company like Apple has shareholders to answer to, so there’s that too 💰💰💰

    Honestly I love Johnny Iev, but imagine if he applied for a Job today. No one would take him, its the world we live in. Every company just wants a ninja warrior now a days.

      @@user-kg1od9es5d that's true. Cause people like us just need a good, trusting culture around us, and less of "Hey get this done by 2pm yada yada" ...

      correct. A lot of folks dont want someone who is incredibly capable - they want someone who is 'good enough' but is a brown noser lol. The folks who actually want what Im prescribing tend to be folks who are incredibly accomplished or folks who are CEO's who have a healthy understanding of their strengths and weaknesses.@@uiuxshoaib

    This isn’t about Jony Ives “creative process”. This video is a bunch of ideals and ideas stuck together to present some sort of pseudo philosophical statement or summary of Jony Ives beliefs and values. The creative process has distinct stages and organized, ordered actions that are taken in the process of designing something. Where is this information? What process does his team follow and how does he provide leadership and guidance? Better to go right to the source instead of watching a bunch of interview snippets thrown together with a very loose structure. Title of this video is misleading, the commentary adds no new insight and the shorter interview clips from which this video was built get right to the point much faster and in a more coherent manner. Frustrating to watch.

      @AnoahWang  3 місяці тому +1

      Hello James Watt, I appreciate your feedback. I agree that my title is not completely reflective of the video content. My intention was not to mislead my viewers. I think its great that you expressed your critique however saying "frustrating to watch" feels like you are talking down to me and is not constructive at all. Clearly other viewers enjoyed the video. You can keep that sort of critique to yourself.
