Great video. You should def make more videos with the 500! I just snagged a 500 last week. Coming from the SP-404 so chopping by ear isn't a problem at all. I LOVE the 12 levels and the fact that I can listen to my drums while recording my samples in.
To Change Track Name hit "Track" the "Params" and you can navigate the cursor the same as if u where renaming a Sequence. Thanks For the Help too Digs Shouts from NY LI 631
I didn't realise the MPC 500 was this powerful, I thought it was much more basic. It even has effects! It's a shame they didn't use a larger sceen, if it could even show as much info as the 2000 it would make for a much nicer experience.
@@mpchead because the screen is small and the buttons are per function I actually found the 500 easier to use than the 2000XL. Fantastic vid, one of the best MPChead channels on here for that boom bap sweetness. Got a little question tryin to see what’s up if you can help me a bit - so I’ve always been a SP user myself when it comes to makin beats and recently picked up a 500 to get into the MPC mode of doin things. I think I had a misunderstanding bout the sample time - I picked up a CF card thinking it would increase sample time but looks like I’m stuck with only like a minute no matter what size card I use, is that a RAM issue? Looks like you got 12 minutes on yours, that has nothing to do with the card right? The card doesn’t increase sample time?
The resample feature is cool but you can also assign the same sample instead of re-recording it and then alter it to how you want as well. I sometimes reassign samples to pads on B and then put the low pass filter on it at different stages on different pads. It's a different workaround and it saves sample time if you haven't upgraded to the 128mb RAM.
Hi Luke, the point of resampling was to release the FX slot that was being used by the sample, maybe it wasn't clear in the video sorry. Yeah reassign samples is always a good way to go.
