Despite what some might think of them you have to give it to Tamiya for the depth, breadth and variety of their product range. I really like their kits and consumables and they have almost something for every ability and skill level. Thanks for sharing MOS!
INCREDIBLE CATALOGUE. While computers can do so much, hard copy of the entire line is extremely valuable for both individual and the company. I am reentering the game after retiring and for me this helps learn more about what has been added since I've been away. I was primarily aircraft, so I can look through and get ideas and or supplies all at the same time. Plus I can see other types of kits that really look challenging - the advantage to Tamiya . A trend not available when I was building is getting some kits to match in scale, like aircraft to amour, and crews - great for dioramas.plus the after market small accessories are fantastic. The Tamyia plant must be huge to make the extreme bandwidth of kits in this catalog. I'm hoping to get several 1/32 scale kits. And I am very interested in the P-38 kit. Once again hardcopy is a much better option to sit back and make plans , then order everything at once. Thanks for sharing. .
You know I haven't seen Tamiya catalog in over a decade, but yesterday I took a look at their on-line one. I was actually quite surprised how many armor kits, many fairly recently released, that they no longer produce. Something like half of them aren't available anymore, including almost all of their old 1970 & 80s kits, but also more than 50% of their 1/48th scale armor which, for the most part, is a fairly new line only about 15 years old. This wasn't the case a decade ago when Tamiya still produced most of its armor kit inventory. So it's a very weird thing to me to look in my model kit stash and find, of the dozen or so old Tamiya armor kits I have, only one (The 1/35th Sturmtiger) is still being manufactured. It appears to me that this is an indication that Tamiya must be losing ground to all the new model companies from China.

I perfer catalogues over computer images. You can keep it, look at it whenever or wherever you are. This company and Airfix are the only two I trust in quality and detail. Though warlord and Italeri are coming up fast. Anyway. I have to say. Give me a good catalogue!
Seems that there's very little that Tamiya produce that is sub-par! I'm just coming close to finishing up a 1977 Churchill 1/35 tank which has all the quality of detail, fit, etc that you'd expect from Tamiya, and the range of supplied figures is just brilliant!! 🤩 Can't wait to get my hands on the F35....they're just sold out everywhere around me, and have notifications due from a couple of local suppliers when they get them back in! 😊
I wish Tamiya (and others) would recognise that there must be a market for car models beyond Japanese and European supercars. Obviously these sell, fair enough. But a lot of modellers are middle-aged guys with a nostalgia for their first car, etc. These are unlikely to be Italian supercars, but the likes of Ford Escorts, Vauxhall Vivas and so on. The opportunities for customisation are obvious. European classics of the 60s, 70s and 80s are a woefully ignored opportunity for model kit makers, seems to me.
Spot on. I'm one of those older guys who since retiring have taken up model building with cars being my thing. Just wish Tamiya and others would recognise that not everyone is into military stuff and the cars of our youth still give foond memories. H?ard to find anything much in cars in Australia at the moment ( especially Formula 1)

It's nice that Tamiya has kept the same format all these years but I noticed it's all in Japanese. I wished the Rc tank section had more content and did I see a 1/32 Tornado GR4?
they have a dedicated RC catalogue now Thank you @pnum9618 for leaving a comment. Please subscribe if you haven't as yet.. It really helps the channel grow.

Good point
They need to expand their military figure range in 1/35 th scale…
Legend. It's about A$30 so good to have a preview before buying. Thank you.
Hope you enjoy it!
Tamiya has always had the highest quality kits available.👍👍

Great
Great catalog but it's missing the diorama center page...😢
Après avoir appris la langue, consulter ce catalogue ne devrait poser aucun problème ! 🙂
Tamiya est devenu, et c’est justifié, la référence absolue en modélisme. Du pro pour les amateurs en somme ! :o)

The F35 is an italieri product
@@markbailey3508 the F-35A is most certainly not an italeri kit.
Try the 1/48 Sea Harrier if you want to see sub par Tamiya.

@@MOS6510Models just subbed, how do you get them? Direct from Tamiya Japan?
@@oliverattwell8013 Got a contact out there matey
@@MOS6510Models lol, cloak and dagger isit?
Is that an airbrush that you plug into a can at 10:26?
Yes, low power and high cost of can in one neat package. Seriously, buying cheap chinese compressor will be more sensible solution.
Shame the catalogue doesn't show 4 models per page to show them off in better detail. The models really do deserve to be better showcased.
Thats a good shout
HiYa matey, did you have to pay for this catalog? I hear that Airfix charge £8 is that correct?
Bob
England
8.99 for airfix catalogue.. this was sent to me from Japan
Nada muy interesante en aviones ,otro año más que Tamiya ignora a los maquetistas del 1/72!

There's no dioramas in the centre pages anymore.
