Friends, how would you rate an idea priced at $10?
10 dollar price 100 dollar work time investment. No thanks
Well, the thumbnail made me think this vice could be for dent removal 😅

Si j’avais plein de bouts de bois inutiles qui traînent et plein de temps à perdre je dirais que ça pourrait être une bonne idée
If I am ever stranded on a desert island with access to an entire hardware store I might attempt this. Otherwise this is the least possible bang for your buck of a project I have ever seen. Surprised that you did not start out by growing the tree.
Just ten bucks plus fifty bucks of materials and fifty k of workshop power tools!
Up until about the 90% point, l thought this was from Mad Magazine years ago. You rework your clamp to make a vice. Now your clamp is gone so you rework your wrench to make a clamp. But you need a wrench so you make one out of pliers. Now you need pliers so you make some out of two screwdrivers. Now, needing s screwdriver you make one out of a chisel. Then you make a chisel out of a ruler. And make a ruler out of the blade of a hacksaw. Now you need a hacksaw so forge one out of steel you get by melting down your vice.
Amen!!😅
I chuckled, reinventing the laugh.
I guess he isn’t familiar with the term, “No need to reinvent the wheel.” Buy a 4”, quick release vice, put soft jaws on it,, for $20.. Why waste $10 of electricity,, $300 of time and the price of the bar clamp; buying or replacing. Then put an addition on the garage to store that monstrosity.
What we have here is an ingenious solution to a non-existent problem.
If for no other reason, I get a kick out of watching these videos at double speed, especially when they get the hammer rolling. It reminds me of when I watched Benny Hill, when I was a kid.
I applaud you for the project, but nobody is going to do this when there are already much easier alternatives. Sincerely though, I do applaud the craftsmanship.
What does the thumbnail have to do with the video?
Click bait. I can’t believe I stayed to the end.
Exactly my question.
I scrubbed forward to the end. Still a waste of time.
A lot of people in this world have negative thoughts on people’s ideas. The thing is, he had an idea and it works. Nice video.
The people complaining about this video have no idea what this project is all about. I think this is brilliant. I was a little hesitant about liking the way you handled your tools and what you were doing, but relecting on the way I build as a carpenter, I don't always follow the "safty" rules. I appreciate ideas like this because I really need to upgrade my workshop, and ideas like this help me greatly. In the end, you won me over and I like this
Like the saying goes: Great minds think alike and fools seldom differ!
Lot of work for a simple vise , but talented..
$10 materials, 2 days friggen around in the shop....
These are hobbies, I still work in the workshop and I like it
agreed
yeah, it's great to have a hobby you love. and you get exquisite one-off tools which will be family heirlooms.
Made a contraption to hold a piece of wood while you drill it with a drill press. What an awesome use of time and money.
That was amazing. But you’re telling me all those tools were only worth $10? I’m heading to Home Depot right now!
This man has far too much time to fill
Why do I do this to myself. I always fall for the "unique" idea crap............
Thanks but no thanks. You can buy a drill press vice for 20 bucks.
That's wonderful I never even thought of making a vice with a clamp
Brilliant idea. I have a ton of those Irwin clamps. Might make a little wood vice too. It will be good for a lot of things other than the drill press
Довел до ума, хорошо получилось. Респект!
Beautiful!!!
I must get me one of those cutting hammers😉
One weeks work for that, plus would have to go purchase a bunch new stuff for the workshop at 78 I’ll give it a miss Thanks I’ll go buy one on the net if I reckon I need one
to get all equipment and tools required it turns out to be not as cheap
Glorious!
I'm through playing the Professor on Gilligan's Isle or McGivering something I may never use.
Gonna lose a finder with those practices.
This video was dumb imo
Cool project! Thanks for the video! Was no stupid music. We got to hear the actual sounds of the tools, processes, etc. Easily got my thumbs up
He turned a clamp into a..…clamp. Awesome.
No, this is not so, I made a top-end quick-release vice for a drilling machine from a plastic clamp, but I understand that not everyone can understand this
Great idea. Thanks
¡Qué idea tan fantástica! Este vídeo no solo me permitió ahorrar dinero, sino que también me dio nueva inspiración. Gracias por esforzarte en crear contenido tan valioso.
WHY THE DECEPTIVE THUMBNAIL?? WHAT ELSE DO YOU LIE ABOUT??
My drill press came with a vise.
1 of those when you have nothing to do all day projects. Otherwise I would just go to the hardware store for a cheap clamp.
People who are complaining about you making a clamp into a clamp are morons. You made a much cheaper version of the drill press vise than the ones you can buy and it certainly works faster than the ones I've used where you have to turn the screw for ages if the item getting drilled is small. But I doubt it's worth the labor cost, still a fun little project though.
This is a hobby for me, I enjoy the process of working with wood, not everyone will understand this
very good work . thanks fro sharing
I’ve got something very similar. I think it’s called a Vice.
Nice wood vise
Nice idea. Thanks for sharing
Even though the thumbnail was a lie??
All I heard was a bunch of noise. A lot of time and effort for a friggin' wood vice.
And the thumbnail was clickbait.
Cool 👍👍👍
Brilliant 👏 👌 👍
Someone has a wood fetish by the looks of it! Metal would be far more durable for almost all of those tools..
Very nice.
Bubba it ain't 10$ if you factor time into this and I would yard sale a vice for 10 bucks before I did all this. However I applaud your skill.
Next time try harbor freight cheaper and quicker
Why not attach the screw gun to the other one that had the threaded rod?
A mí me parece muy práctico, muy bueno como todas sus ideas.
Saludas desde argentina!!!
A drill press vise is 20 bucks. If the materials cost you 10 bucks, then all the time you spent on this is worth ten bucks. If it took 3 hours, your hourly rate is $3.33/hr.
Or if youre more of a glass half full woodworker, you spent ten dollars on materials, had a fun little 3 hour project to practice some of your skills and get a neat little tool that can be tailored to your specific needs to show for it.
This things getting heavier and heavier
Creative video, thanks :)
Not counting the hundreds of dollars worth of other tools required to make the final product.
Or, you could just save a lot of money and time and buy an inexpensive but better quality wood clamp.
👍👏👌🤜🤛✊💪🤝. Молодец. Идеально. Благодарю.
I give up, What is it?
Or just hold it 😮
Oh.... um, OK.
But why? Time is more valuable than $10. That's time that could have been spent making something you really want to make. Or, your time could been better spent making a more versatile drill press table.
Дууже гарна ідея та виконання 🧐🧐😲😲🦾🦾👍👍💛💛💙💙
I'm still missing all my time Lost. Could just spend 25 bucks at harbor and save alot of useless work making it.😮
Fantastic very good BRASIL
That was almost as much of a waste of time as watching this video.
You know I don't care what people's bad habits are for wood shop safety is ,we should all practice good safety measures while working with power tools anyway I've had a table saw for over 3 yrs I just cut my pinky finger for the 1st time ,do I know why yes it was not falling the safety rules!😢 (Wearing gloves) .😮😮thanks for listening to me .from tk
Thanks for the warning, as a teenager I severely cut my fingers on a jointer, the operation lasted 4+ hours, thank God and the doctors, but my fingers were completely restored. To this day, I psychologically cannot work on a jointer.
Gloves on a table saw? Unless you're wearing chain mail armor gloves you're just asking for more trouble.
Instead of just a band aid on your finger you'd be looking for a brand new hand when the glove got caught in the spinning blade and pulled your arm in. You might not even make it to the phone before you bled to death. No gloves near spinning equipment ever. Drill press, lathe, saw, you name it, no gloves period.
Good grief...
Чёртов гений! 👍🔥
You turned a humble quick grip plastic clamp into a not only a worthwhile addition to the shop but a piece of “art”. I bet those that didn’t appreciate what you did are secretly copying your idea!
I love what can be done with quick grip clamps, I just made a router table lift with one!
Sure buddy show it
@@DAT-TEXAS-DUDE How would you like me to show it?
@@paulmannix1760
Picture ,video something that shows it buddy.
Wow 😅 a plastic clamp to a wood clamp awesom
No, this is not so, I made a top-end quick-release vice for a drilling machine from a plastic clamp, but I understand that not everyone can understand this
OR! ( hear me out ) - I could Buy an Actual vice for 7 dollars at the Swapmeet 🤷🏻♂️ and Save the 40 hours it took to make ☝🏻 This thing Just Sayin
Nobody's going to make this project..
All of that just to build a damn clamp. What a waste of time and 8:42 seconds I will never get back.
bien vu... mais les bruits sont insupportable, ça pette les oreilles garçon!
The thumbnail??
What in the fuck are we watching? Oh.
Это для англичан¿? Жаль не на русском!!!
Another "How To" waste time and resourses video😏
Much ado for nothing......
There has to be a simpler was to make a clamp/Vice …dumb!
🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️
