  • The FIVE Daughters Of Queen Victoria
    Vicky
Vicky, the eldest daughter of Queen Victoria and Prince Albert, was her father's favorite. From a very young age, she displayed remarkable confidence and intelligence. By the age of three, she was already fluent in English, German, and French, a testament to her impressive capabilities. She had a passion for painting, dancing, and reading, and although she was close to her sister Alice, her relationship with her brother Bertie was strained, often teasing him.
    Alice
Alice was a calm and gentle presence among her siblings, known for her good nature and even temperament. She had a nurturing role within the family, often acting as a caretaker and peacemaker. Her kindness extended to her moody older brother Bertie, as she was one of the few who could coax him into joining the children's activities. The Queen affectionately referred to her as ‘good amiable Alice’.
    Helena
Helena, nicknamed Lenchen by her mother, was known for her tomboyish nature and toughness. She preferred outdoor activities and practical tasks over more traditional domestic pursuits like cooking. Often found helping Affie in his workshop or playing soldiers with Arthur, she also enjoyed working in the garden and caring for the horses at the Swiss Cottage stables.
    Louise
Louise was a spirited and talented child, combining beauty and a strong-willed nature. She was known for being artistic, especially excelling in painting and later sculpture, with her own studio at Osborne. Her love of horses was evident from a young age, and she made sure to include horseback riding in her daily routine whenever possible.
    Beatrice
As the youngest child, Beatrice, affectionately known as "Baby," enjoyed a more indulgent upbringing than her older siblings. Prince Albert, in particular, spoiled her, and after his death, she was often left to play alone. Despite this, Beatrice found joy in playing with her nephews and nieces during their visits, providing her with companionship and fun.
