I was also a nurse for 17 years. In 2017 I had a meningioma growing inside the temporal bone of my skull. No doctor could or would check my vision appropriately when I asked and I went to 5 different doctors. I finally found a ophthalmologist who looked at me and immediately sent me for a ct. The ct showed the meningioma had grown into and through the circle of willets and was growing into the common sinus cavity. My left retina was I don’t know I guess mashed between the bones would be a good description and the tumor had grown around the muscle. I have 3 plates in the left side of my skull and the doctor said if he’d known how big it was he would have had the whole area remade with whatever they use for that but it was bigger than he anticipated. My doctor was fabulous. He saved my vision, the nerve and the muscle. I only have partial vision but I’m here, my eye works and no headaches like I was supposed to be having. Have faith.

I have a similar story. My meningoma is on the right side. It now has reoccurred for the 3rd time. Who is your NS? I’m in NC. I’ve been to both Duke and UNC. I am stable but I don’t have much vision in my right eye. I’m thankful for what I do have and I keep praying this tumor won’t continue to grow. 💜

Jeni. You are living in a time of high medical knowledge. Doctors are now prepared to do this surgery. A plan is already in place. It is time to take care of yourself. Prayers are going up and favor is there for a successful procedure. Do not fear, but prepare to be very quiet with lots of rest to heal. We care.

I’m new here. I have not had the pleasure of a long viewership, but it has been very positive and for that, thank you. I am also a nurse. In 2014 I saw my husband stumbling, losing his pants, forgetting one shoe, and being incoherent. His muscle tone was nil and he fell onto the hood of our car as we exited the house because I knew I had to get him to the hospital immediately, I thought he was having a stroke. Instead, I called 911 because I could not get 6’3” of him into our Beetle. He was having a massive subdural brain bleed. It was only three months after he had a triple bypass because I caught him having a classic widow-maker MI. Had I not gotten him help he would not have survived. Today, he is 81 years old and holds down a responsible 40 hour a week job. He takes care of me. Six years ago, I spent a year in chemo for breast cancer, and at the end of it, my retinas hemorrhaged due to anticoagulant therapy to dissolve the blood clot clogging my chemo port. I am blind in one eye and will go blind in the other. So, legally blind but not totally blind yet. I just finished blind school classes that had to be put on hold until we got past the pandemic. So, Jeni, I understand scared. I understand anger, too, and that’s not a bad thing. It gives you energy to fight back with. We nurses tend to imagine the worst so we are our own worst enemy. But even with all my Hubs and I have been through, we came out still mostly whole and functional. Even blind people can can ugly chicken and other good stuff, but I want to learn more, so I need a guide. I am going to hang out here and wait for you to teach me, OK? I like the idea of having a new friend who is also a nurse that preserves food. I have only been a nurse for 48 years, so I want to be on your journey with you, to see what new things they’re doing in brain surgery. Tell us all about it, and if I know anything about people who do good things like canning and dehydrating and cooking great meals, it’s that we are all caring people who will all tell you we are cheering you on, and that you’re not alone. Keep your chin up. You are stronger than you think. Nurses are tough because we have to be. You’ve got this. I can see that. Don’t think so far ahead. One day at a time, one footstep at a time. You will get through this. Hugs!

Jeni, I know you're scared but I really believe you are going to do fine. You're a RN so I know you have picked the very best Neuro Surgeon there is. I am also an RN and sometimes that is tough alone because we often focus on all the things that could go wrong and everything we have seen. You are actually very lucky in the fact that you know about this and you have an opportunity to have a bypass and fix this. One of the PA's I worked with died of a ruptured brain aneurysm he didn't even know he had. So at least you know about it. I will be praying for you and over the entire OR that day. You will be surrounded with love and the white light to guide your surgeons hands. You got this!!!

My SILs optometrist found a brain tumor during an exam. They had to remove her hypothalmus & part of the pituitary stalk. 1 of the side effects of the surgery that bothered her the most, was she would never have children due to wonky hormones, as they had just decided to start their family. (Oh, and an uncanny resemblance to Benjamin Franklin from the haircut they gave her! 😁)
This was about 30 years ago, she is totally fine, vision good & a bonus was finding a fertility clinic that could help her have 2 wonderful sons!

I had a brain surgery when I was 45. They had to take out part of my brain. Mine was not an option either. I had massive headaches before that for about 5 years. They still don't know why my head hurt then and still hurts now but I am left with side effects of a stroke survivor except for the paralysis. I have memory loss from the past,, short term and finding words when I'm talking. I know how anxious you must be. I will be holding you up in prayer before our Heavenly Father. I'm disabled but I'm still here and kicking. Sending love, peace and prayers your way. Love ya sister 😘

Jeni sweetie, Please don't worry about being emotional and crying or trying not to cry... who wouldn't? I think you are very brave to film about your impending journey you are going to take and I do know that God will be right there with you. I will begin praying for you tonight and you need to know that my prayers are exceptionally strong and that is a very good thing to know. You are a super strong person I can tell and by what you said about your husband,,, that sounds like you are the strongest of the two. All the advice I can and will give you is this. Talk to God until they put you to sleep, tell him how worried you are and that you need his help. He will give you the help and all you have to do is ask him for it. I will be praying for the hands of those doctors that will be operating on your brain for God to guide those hands. We don't know God's will or desires but need to trust in him. I love you Jeni and my eyes are full of water now because I am sincere in my words that I am writing to you. I will be watching for your next video about your surgery and hope I do not see Leisa from Suttons. (I love her too) God take care of your daughter Jeni, she needs you now.

I'm so sorry for what you're going through. I had a stroke at the age of 54 in 2005 and spent 2 weeks total in 2 different hospitals. I spent Christmas, my birthday, and New Year's in a rehabilitation unit of my local hospital. I consider myself lucky because the stroke was considered "minor", even though I've had to make several changes and compensations in my daily life. In 2017 I was diagnosed with stage 2 breast cancer, had a surgery to remove the tumor, which was successful, followed by 4 weeks of radiation 5 days a week. In 2019, in April, I wasn't feeling very well and went to Emergency where they told me I had suffered a "mild heart attack"! Nobody was more surprised than ME! BUT, I was alive even though any one of those incidents could have gone so very wrong. My sense of humor carried me through, and I thank God it did. So, my advice is to keep your faith that everything will be ok and your sense of humor at the ready. I've told family that I should play the lottery because after THAT trifecta, I deserve to win!!! lol

Jen, when I said that you didn't owe anyone an explanation, I was thinking of the folks who feel that they have to tell all for some unknown reason. But you said it perfectly, that you wanted people to know so they could send prayers, et al and that you felt a real need to share your walk thru this. I apologize for not being more clear on my feelings. But now that you have cleared that up for me, you've got to know that everyone who watches your channel loves and adores you for what you show, and teach; for being the woman you are. I, along with everyone else sends you love and strength to get thru this.
I think the medical community is geared to not give much hope (for obvious reasons) but that means we have to become our own self-motivated HOPE GENERATORS. I'm right there with you. I've been thru the cancer crap, and traumatic brain injury stuff and much to my amazement, I have made it. I'm still kicking. Healing, as you fully know it is mostly in our own mind's, so BREATHE, BREATHE and BREATHE. This too shall pass and you will be back on the road of life, health, and happiness. I know you are also worried for your friends and family, but now is the time to worry less than normal. Gesh, I could talk for hours but will spare you.
Thank you for this heart felt and even fearful video. You are a strong, positive woman. Be healthy, stay safe and many blessings. All my love and respect, Morgan

Jen, as nurses, we've seen the power of belief and positivity work miracles to heal the body. It's what makes placebos work. Try to envision the positive outcome you want, right down to the smallest detail and replay it in your mind over and over. Picture yourself smiling and laughing with the team of surgeons in recovery. Picture no scar on your left arm. Picture the healed artery in your brain. Replay positive reels in your mind and our body will do the rest. It knows what it needs to do to.

I’m so sorry you’re dealing with this! One thing I’ve learned is God allows us to go through tough times to draw us closer to Him. I’m a nurse also. 27 yrs ago I was diagnosed with head/neck metastatic squamous cell with unknown primary. A smokers cancer and I’ve never smoked. Radiation damage left me with a trach and G-tube so I haven’t eaten anything in 27 yrs. I started following you so I could prep for my unprepared/unbelieving grown family. I have a book I have been sharing for 25 yrs called Trusting God Even When Life Hurts. If you’d like a copy, pm me or reply here. Prayers for a super outcome! God’s in control! Trust Him!

My sister had a brain tumor the size of the orange, way back in the mid 80's when she was about 16. They had to scrape a bit of her brain, so it made math very very difficult. She was very lucky. The only reason she did not have seizures, suddenly 6 months after surgery, was God. We will be praying, and God will provide. We WILL see you back here!!!

Oh sweet girl, I know fully well the terror that keeps you up at night. My husband and I take care of our son that has a TBI. He was in a pedestrian hit and run and has severe frontal lobe damage. Anything that has to do with opening the skull is so scary. I will surely be praying for peace for you and your family. I found you through the collab and have binged all of your videos. I have a pressure canner coming in and am taking notes. Due to the food shortage and with hurricane season upon us here in the south, I really need to put food up for my son as he can eat soft or pureed things. Your canning recipes will be perfect! So see, even when you don't think you are making a difference, you definitely are! Last year after hurricane Laura, we were out of electricity for over a week and the food that we had on hand or the churches supplied to us were burgers, hot dogs, sandwiches or pizza....nothing he could eat. With your recipes, I will have a full supply. Don't stop doing what you love, pray hard and keep positive....

I'm sorry you have to go through this and I'm certain you must be absolutely scared out of your mind. I know it's not the same but I remember back in 2020 when I was diagnosed with MS I thought, seriously?! My brain!?! Of all things to be attacked it would be the most complex part of my body and one that dr.s still don't know why it happens. Ugh, it's so scary. And vertigo once a year!?! I had vertigo 2 months ago for the first time and it lingered for 2 weeks but was on my bathroom floor for 12 hours before I could be moved. I pray I never go through that again (although unrealistic with MS).
I know I speak for all of us who have watched your channel for some time now that if we could be there in person to help you, we would be! All my love, support, and prays coming your way for you and your family. I'm sure they're scared too. ❤❤❤

Jeni, I have faced brain cancer twice and have had 11 heart attacks and 7 strokes.... I'm a 6x cancer conquer... while I've not had this exact experience, I do know the gravity of the situation and know the stress of forgetting things, the brain fog, the headaches and multiple other issues... learning how to walk and talk again, long hospitalizations, and years of healing... great news... we serve an amazing God who is the only one who can issue the call home... its now been over 23 years since I was 1st diagnosed and given 6 weeks to live... God wasn't done wirh me, and has changed many lives through my dis-ease process and healing.
Please know you are being lifted 🙏 and will keep you lifted... hugs and love ❤️

I’m amazed at what the surgeons can accomplish now, with robotic tools they can accurately pinpoint the area of the brain they are working on.
