- Approach over the mountains and landing on runway 13 at Malaga International airport ( AGP / LEMG ) in Spain. Airbus A320. Cockpit view. With ATIS (automatic terminal information service) audio and ATC audio.
We fly the ILS (instrument landing system) approach to runway 13. The glidepath is with 3.2 degrees a little steeper than the usual 3 degree path. Reason is that some mountains and hills are in the approach path and with 3.2 degrees, the terrain clearance is better.
Runway 13/31 is 3200 meters long and able to accomodate even the biggest passenger airplanes in hot weather. In addition, runway 12/30 is available, but not in use everyday.
Due to the proximity to the sea, winds are shifting during the day. So it happens that runway 31 is in use during the early morning and that changes to runway 13 a few hours later.
Malaga international airport is located at the Costa del Sol. Distance to the city of Malaga is about 8 kilometers and about 5 km from the city of Torremolinos. Malaga airport also serves the area of Marbella. Driving distance to Marbella is about 60 km. It is widely known, that in the Marbella area several very wealthy people have a (second home). So it happens here and there that you see a private Boeing 747 Jumbojet parked at the airport.

Brilliant video
Thank your for the friendly feedback!
Great.
Thanks for watching
Would be better without the music :(
Thanks for the helpful feedback! My newer videos have no music anymore. Instead the audio focus is on the crew and ATC communications. Have a great day!
@@ApproachandDepartureVideos That's great as your videos are very informative :) I have flown into Malaga many times. Do you a video of when you flight out to sea to then turn and land?
@@Mk1Male No. I hope to be scheduled to Malaga soon. This may give me new video possibilities. Please stay tuned.
