I went with the GM, use mine for street as well so the smaller, lighter package is key for me. On rendering for portraits I find them equally beautiful but the GM is sharper, at least that’s been the case in other reviews I’ve seen.
I chose the GM "got money" lens 😅 and the Sigma's 1.2 weight is just too much to overcome for me its choosing to carry a lens that weighs one brick or two 🧱 🤷♂️
I made the same choice. It was tough as the bokeh and reduced focus breathing on the Sigma were two things I was desperate for, but I'm happy with the GM. It's probably my most used lens these days.
I've rented the Sigma and had more issues with getting a sharper image, especially when dealing with a moving target. Maybe I should try the Sony before I make the purchase.
Not many lenses do to be fair - it's only really Zeiss and Sony that include OS in a handful of their primes. I guess the general concensus is that you don't need it as most Sony camera's have IS built-in these days.
Another 35mm comparison? You know there are other subjects and focal lengths in photography. It’s free so I am not complaining. :) I sold my Bigma and moved to Sony GM because of weight and size, but Bigma is my all time favorite lens for Sony Mirrorless.
I've had a lot of requests for 35mm videos recently, so I'm just listening and reacting to the subs. Can't please everyone I guess! 🤷🏻♂️😂 The good news is that I've got plenty of videos lined up for the new year with other focal lengths, so don't worry 👍🏻
I'd love to see the test charts and video footage you've taken that show these lenses being tested side by side with the RF equivalent - can you link to them please?

Me too - I've had the GM for a while now and absolutely love it. Probably my most used lens of 2021.
Awesome job once again Tom. Your B roll at 0.36 should be made into a poster. Breathtaking.
Another great review ! Well done for the 10k subscribers, you deserve it so much! I hope you are doing well my friend 👌 Take care 💪
Thanks brother, always appreciated! I'm good thanks, I hope you are too 🤜🤛

Always on it with quality content.
Thanks man, appreciate it!
Thanks for the great review! The images of your model in the bathtub are incredible! 😍👏
Thanks as always for the support Stefan 🙌🏻
My wrists will notice the extra weight of the Sigma way more than the 1.2 bokeh. Great video as always, Tom
Weirdly, I have forearms of steel... no idea why... 😜
@@TomCalton that’s curious. Reaching the butt usually strengthen the middle finger. You must be very furious about it
How have I only just discovered your channel Tom?! Great content, really nice films, subscribed!
Thanks Jonathan! Welcome aboard brother 🤜💥🤛
Thanks !! I would go the sony 35mm!
You should do a editing video for the images and your worklflow✌️😁 The final images are really good!
Thanks man, appreciate it!
Hi Tom! Please make a video on sigma 40mm f1.4 also. Thanks
Just ordered the GM. Love your content Tom
Another great one!
What was the cinematic b roll footage shot with?

_Got Money_ 🤣
Hey Tom do you have any video or photo examples of 35mm at f2.8 compared to f1.4?
Unfortunately not bud - I'm a sucker for shooting wide open all the time 👌🏻
I've rented the Sigma and had more issues with getting a sharper image, especially when dealing with a moving target. Maybe I should try the Sony before I make the purchase.
i like your videos. its really helps me to decide. i just wonder is it ok to have your presets using in LR, i really love the colors.
hell yes!! 35gm!
2021 is ending and I still haven't picked which of these two I'd buy.
The struggle is real 😂
Same boat here -_-
Hey Tom! Will you be checking out the new Tamron 30-150 in the future?
Absolutely I will! Just waiting for it to arrive (hopefully soon 🤞🏻).
@@TomCalton Awesome, I'm looking forward to your findings! Hope you had a great Christmas
I did thanks! I hope you did too 🙂
Sigma lenses are razor sharp lenses but the only problem with this lenses is it doesn,t have build image stabilization

With the a7IV you don’t really need it
Who needs that with 35mm? and with in-camera stabilization?
Haha sneaking that your mama joke in 😂
throws the Tamron 35mm 1.4 in any fight
Shame you can't get it for Sony E-Mount (yet) 😔
Chosed 40mm f2.5 lol
Sony looks like a zoom lens from how much focus breathing it has.

@@TomCalton Keep them coming. You are producing good content. I hope your channel will continue to grow tremendously in 2022.
How did both lenses compare at F1.4? It's not really fair to only compare one at F1.2 and the other at F1.4.
🤩👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
🤜🤛
So basically with focus breathing compensation, the sony 35mm magically becomes a sony 50mm??😅
GM all day.
I love mine!
In Germany the Sony is 1699€ 😭
🤢🤮
Sorry you lose all credibility for not having the model dressed appropriately for the bath :(
We got our outfits mixed up on the day. What you can't see is that I'm bollock naked behind the camera 😂
@@TomCalton If the roles were reversed, he'd use a circular polarizer for his glasses while looking at this video, but alas..
If those 2 are god-tier, then i wonder where the RF glass lies at. Those 2 lens ain't got shizzle on the Canon glass.
I'd love to see the test charts and video footage you've taken that show these lenses being tested side by side with the RF equivalent - can you link to them please?
@@TomCalton Lollll
