Tough fish to keep, they tend to like water colder then most peoples aquariums. warmer water stresses them out
love my blue spot jawfish he's a heck of a character in my reeftank.
It is jawfish season here in Mexico and I added 2 blue dot jawfish in my tank... one of them didnt make it, but it has been the hardest type of fish to adapt, but it is the most funny one, as you said has a lot of personality
They have a season in Mexico? Like a fishing season where you can harvest them or a season where the all swim nearby?
I didn't know we were in the same area. I'm still waiting to get a blue spotted jaw fish. I just got our Midas blenny a couple weeks ago. I've been waiting to get the Midas blenny for 9 months. Your video remindedme that the blue spotted jaw fish maybe my birthday present
Lol.
I like those Blue Dots
Very hard to keep. Most likely will get Blue spoted jawfish disease. I love mine but if I had to do it over I would get one. Somethings should stay in the ocean
How do they do with crushed coral?
Sudden Kimpact I am not sure but they will probably do fine. The are pretty good at moving substrate around.
Cool. Is that your tank?
The Blue Spot Jawfish is at a public aquarium. I had one once but he jumped through a gap in my lid =(. They are jumpers.
Does this video work for other jawfish of similar size
The yellow head jawfish may be a little more tolerant of the warmer reef tanks. Yellow heads come from the Caribbean, which is a little warmer water, and live slightly shallower. Avoid going over 80F. Overall though, stability is key.
Think one would do good in a 10 gallon
By Christian Cozart That is pushing it but may be possible if it was the only fish. They are big eaters. You don't want to make too much work for yourself keeping things clean.
A yellow headed jawfish would be much better in a 10 if its the only fish
