For those asking, yes. It was a real fire. It was caused by a laser cutter catching fire, and activating a sprinkler. Only 1 room was damaged and nobody was injured or affected. Thanks.
The fire alarms are the same at my school. as soon as i heard the one that sounded more like a siren, i knew it was the same

i had a false alarm on friday last week here in northern ireland we have form class first thing in the morning then have our 9 periods me and 3 of my mates came in early and we sat in form class waiting for the form teacher and next minute we hear the bells i thought it was the 1st period bell but no the whole school was evacuated lol ill film the next one if there is a fire drill 🤣

One of the worst fire drills I've ever experienced was we got out and we stood outside the field for about 45 minutes and it was freezing cold and frosty, had no idea what was going on and the teacher told us it was all a false alarm, I was fuming

All of my fire drills were false alarms, the last one I had was today in Tutor time when somebody in the primary school set off the fire alarm which almost activated the secondary schools fire alarm (I’m a secondary school person) I get really scared if I don’t get warned about fire alarms and they just randomly go off

That happens all the time at my school. It's always when someone's pressed it or its a false alarm. It's only ever been real one time. The fire engine came everytime
We never get a fire engine for a false alarm. The staff immediately check if it's a call point that's been pressed then they check the CCTV. If a kid done it they call the brigade to send nobody.
Jm fire alarms some girls in Year 8 sprayed deodorant in the toilets and had a school wide evacuation and it was pouring with rain

If every real fire emergency was a positive result all buildings old and new across the U.K. should have fire sprinkler system the high school I went to I left in 2016 did not have sprinklers and still don’t
BlueFireAndSecurity. And neither is leaving the lives of people’s children at risk, just because the district doesn’t want to spend money on a life saving device!! Here in America we don’t play that. There are fire alarms and sprinkler systems in EVERY single room and hallway of our schools. There are even fire doors. We have to have a fire drill every month. Remember that when the school bell rings, the teachers and staff are responsible for the lives of all those students until the dismissal bell rings

In our school, we need to leave the building through the main gate or any other exit, go to our back courtyard and DO NOT touch the grass. Then we need to wait for teaching staff to go back in then us. It's honestly the most confusing system. We had someone who set fire to something in Science and the smoke made it into the hallway and the alarms were set off. Just getting dressed after P.E. Now you can imagine how rush that is. You need to get back into uniform then leave. They all had to wait for the few students doing P.E coz we had just finished the lesson.

That happened 6years ago when I was in year 2. We were getting changed for P.E and they had to wipe out feet after. A teacher was only having some toast and burnt it XD

My school had a real fire on January 22nd, 2019! Fortunately, it was a small flame and it only damaged a small portion of a tray in the Commons Area because the fire alarm went off in the nick of time.
No one was harmed, except for some people's ears, during the event that day.

I like the Apollo system, my school just got its vigilon system revamped it was from 2009 but the squads kept activating so they replaced them. They are all sounder strobes with heat only squads in science
A little bit of storytime. It's from 3 years ago and two people got EXCLUDED.
And our fire alarm sounded like the first one.
So it was lunchtime, I was standing in the queue to get my hot dinner, and there was a year 6 next to me. We were right next to one of those red boxes and my friend said to him "Imagine the fire alarm going off right now". The year 6 said "And it will" and he pressed it. A few seconds later, everyone was screaming and ran through the rear emergency exit. It was a long route to our assembly place, so we went through a section of our playground, through the car park and out of the school premesis on to a large field just outside the school gate. Five minutes later, we knew that year 6 regretted it, because we saw TWO fire trucks pull up. We were eventually notified by the deputy headteacher that it was only a grass fire, and that the school was safe to access. After 5 minutes of my teacher shouting at the whole class, my friend got sent home and the day was normal again.

The same thing happened at my school. The laser cutter caught on fire. We were all stood outside for about an hour, probably even longer, and still didn’t get to home. Should’ve just bailed out. 🤷♂️

maybe for u but its the opposite for me my primary school has been around since world war 2 so yeah the fire alarm is really old and is a proper bell so its really loud but in high school now its a bit quieter still quite loud but a lot easier to cope with them the loud ass bell in primary lol

mine is the exact opposite, primary was earrape and fuelled my fear of loud noises, and in high school now it is just the same volume as the class change bell, but i still hate it T^T

yup! the indoor sounders are odd. they are apollo ancillary base sounders. they are basically integrated base sounders but with no synchronisation.
The outdoor sounders sounders a bit like a gent system.

I remember every time we had a drill we also used to say can’t wait till it actually burns down.
From what I can remember, when I was in school (I left around 2015/2016) every time the fire alarm was set off we all had to leave via the main entrance of whatever section we were in at the time. Every time (at least when the building was occupied) one of the science teachers set it off with whatever they were doing. Only once ever was there a real fire which burned down four classrooms, the three science labs, the woodwork room and the main toilets which were all in the same section of the main building, thankfully nobody was in the building at the time as it was around 2am if I remember correctly. The nearby residents weren't affect too much either as the town's fire station is only two minutes away, the only downside in terms of the firefighting efforts is the nearest ladder truck is in a nearby city about an hour's drive away from the town. The cause of the fire was that a builder left their glue gun plugged in which overheated which then set one of the wooden structures in the woodwork room on fire.
We had some sort of nuclear war siren or air raid siren at our school😂.
My sisters college (which is my school now) had a real fire on September 1st 2019, (was caused by 2 arsonists)

I remember doing our school fire drills back in the 1990's. We never had a real fire, thank goodness, but when we were Evacuating, we managed to get it done in a more orderly fashion then this.
Actually, I go to this school now ~(ConnahsQuay) and when we do a fire evacuation, we actually did one last week, we all go into lines in our tutor and we have to stand in silence. We don't act like this anymore
@CJGamez Official Well done to the school for having learned from this. My school back in the day had high-rise buildings , it was Quintin Kynaston Secondary School in St John's Wood, London ( it's now been redeveloped and renamed Harris Academy), and our evacuation procedure was, as soon as the alarm went, we had to stop what we were doing, get up and get into single file, quick, calm and quiet, and then all the way along the corridors and down the stairs, we had to keep one hand on the wall or handrail and the other hand on the shoulder of whoever was in front of us, and had to keep our heads down until we got outside in to the sports ground, and the teachers would guide us out while repeating the instructions. Sounds excessive, but looking back on it now and having seen footage of fires in other schools and fires in high-rises, I'm really glad things were done this way.
We were going outside for break (i live in England, dunno if u even have that) and the fire drill went off. Of course it wasn’t a real fire, but the thing is when you go for break you basically go outside and have a snack, so we didn’t even need to evacuate. Man my school could’ve set on fire and everyone would survive but instead I had that annoying sound coming through my ear holes.

We had a real one. The shed containing all the fuel for the lawn mower got set on fire. We came out onto the back feild and the fire was like 20 meters away jt was insane
I'm glad everyone was ok and that they were able to get out. Also, I am glad that the fire was contained and that it was able to be put out safely. Luckily, the sprinklers went off.

The fire alarm in our school went off 2 times this week on Thursday and Friday, It was a Fault. Meaning it was a false alarm, we have the exact same alarm in our school. Those things are like screaming sensors! 😂

In my scho we gets stamps as praise and one day the fire alarm went off (real fire) and the whole art department was up in smoke so i was in break eating my ridiculously long sausage sandwhich with my boys who had other snacks and we all got 10 stamps because we didnt eat during the fire drill 😅

We had a real fire months ago and we didn't know what has happened it was after school with some chemicals what leaked in science and about 5 fire engines came and it minor no one was damaged and I was on my way home and when we could go back in the science block couple days later it smelt awful because they had to fumigate the full block so everyone was choking on the smell for a few weeks it was off putting in them lessons chemicals Leek because someone was Careless and they dripped onto the radiator

My old comp school had many different alarms from ancient but loud asf bells to 4 different sounder manufacturers
Once in school our science teacher forgot to turn off the gas valves before he left. One student left the gas tap on before we left and after 20 minutes the whole room was filled with gas. I at break, and when we were going back inside for our lessons, the alarms went off and everyone started laughing and went the other direction back to the playgrounds. Everyone thought it was someone who pulled it because usually when the alarm goes off it’s at the end of break because kids don’t want lessons. The fire brigade came real quick because the science teacher reported it as soon as he came back from break, he entered the room just a few seconds before the alarm went off, he could smell the gas. The fire fighters shut off all the electricity in the building to stop the gas from igniting and they went in the room. We were sent home and the next day the room was closed and the room had room changed for the whole week. Apparently they had do open the windows (which had very small holes so not much gas escaped. After the weekend (the gas leak happened on a Wednesday) the room was re opened and we could go inside.
One time when I was in Year 3 I was trying to enjoy me lunch and then the Fire Alarm went off out of nowhere.
My school are quite bad at evacuating it takes us all about 3 to 4 minutes to evacuate then the head teacher will make a little speach about how the building is one of the largest wooden buildings in Europe and how poor we were at evacuating.

Dont worry about it! the chances of you all dying in a fire are incredibly slim. they will probably realise its the fire alarm before the fire has a chance to do any real harm to people.

I'm in year 10 now and nothing had changed 🤣 in fact it's even worse now cuz each year group has designated assembly points due to covid 19 it makes evacuation so much harder cuz we have to section off to different areas rather than all go to the same area it's so annoying. There was a fire in the Basement at our Prep School. As this was '72 or '73 at a private boarding school in a stately house, we boys were required to fight the fire! Each of us was given a bucket of water in the kitchen, then we joined the chain-gang downstairs. The smoke was so oppressive that we had near-zero visibility. Someone smashed a window to aid breathing, and that probably gave the fire sustenance. The fire was fierce, but confined to one room. The fire brigade arrived from five miles away, and we saw big, burly professionals donning bottles and masks and entering the zone we'd just vacated. Thank God it didn't happen at night. The Headmaster told us all to give ourselves a pat on the back - so we did! 😃

I remember once when some older boys at my school put their finger sensor in the alarm in the boys bathroom whether it was and the alarm went off. It was during lunchtime and I was very scared. I had to stay in my temporary form room and I had to put my bag on my back and everyone was outside. Everyone was hungry too. It happened twice. Let’s hope it doesn’t happen again. Boys are silly. It was gent alarms. 😬 I eventually ŵent outside. Stopped. Lunchtime. XD
