- Today was our Monthly Fire Drill at MCHS again with exclusive footage. I was also glad to be inside of building 2 today to show a little "error" sorta. In building 2, when the Fire Alarms go off, it takes 1 full Code 3 cycle before the ones in building 2 are energized and go off. Drill begins at 4:30. Enjoy!
I'm beyond terrified of fire drills. The sound causes my anxiety to go through the roof. I can handle the flash but the sound scares the life out of me
This is making me even more scared for the one I am having this week😭
@@floptropicaisthebestsooo I work childcare we are required to do them monthly :(
@@TCJ24116 Nothing different for me I do them monthly
Yea it happens but it’s for practice
OMG SAME
Bro, I am deathly scared of fire drills. Back in the day, I used to have people notify me whenever there would be a drill. Most of the time, I was allowed to leave before alarms would go off, but a couple of times, I was left hanging, which sucked, and I have been in schools with REALLY loud alarms, like the Exceder.
In my final high school, thankfully, alarms were not loud. They were the speaker kind (BUT before construction, there were SOME loud alarms like the old Siemens and Wheelocks in old parts of the building.
Same shit with me because of my autism. I stayed in my one high school for the entire high school life nearby my home.
Ah, maybe that the some thing
I used to be terrified of them too. But then I grew to love them, as I do most things I overcome a fear of. I even became fire marshal for my classes in 3rd, 4th and 6th grades. I'm now 61 years old and I'm floor a warden on my floor on my job. Now unlike you, I always liked the sound of the bells during fire drills. They were very musical, in that they had rhythm and harmony, because no two bells or buzzers sounded exactly alike.
I thought I was the only one 😅
4:34 There it is, Here We Go!
I work as a custodian for a school district here in Minnesota and we get the go ahead from our admins for us custodians to pull the fire alarm for the drill and I'm in charge with the fire alarms and us custodians are the last ones in the building. For a real fire alarm that goes off, by law that us custodians have to help out with fire department to locate the effective area where the fire alarm tripped

The firedrill at Apex Middle School in Feb 2019 was on the 25th. I believe. But not the 5th.
this is clearly not a middle school
Alerts are at school and the drill has started on fire 🔥
I used to be terrified of fire drills too because I thought that they involved real fire. But once I got over that fear, fire drills became quite interesting and I served as fire marshall in 3rd, 4th and 6th grades. In fact, I'm a floor warden at the place where I work and I have to help evacuate during fire drills. I work in a Downtown L.A. high rise and this past fire drill was a full building evacuation. Me along with my co-workers had to evacuate 53 floors all the way down to street level. Needless to say we all had very sore legs afterwards. Mine were sore for a week. 🙂
My school has two different types of fire alarms the Edwards east genesis horn strobe (inside) and Edwards fire alarm (outside).
School rules:No blackout,no renovation,no crying people and no fire drill.
You need your head phones on because those fire alarm are LOUD just like the fire alarm at my school 🏫

Wow such a smooth roblox game, no lag, real noises and people acting normal 💀
4:34 is when the fire alarm goes off
When there is a fire drill I say man that’s loud!
I would shriek at the top of my lungs if the fire alarm at the school went off.
OMG! Not a good idea for me to have the Volume all the way up. Jesus that first beep scared the EVER LIVING CRAP outta me.
You may be the only student that knows to record in landscape
Funny fire alarm story: A kid in my class (not going to say name) always liked to joke around. One morning, we had a fire drill (once at the end of every month). That kid had tied his shoelaces to the bottom of the chair. So, as expected, the fire alarm went off, and he knocked over the chair while standing up. He had to spend a minute untying his shoes from the chair. Thankfully, it was a drill and not a real fire. Also, alarm starts at 4:34.
I've had really bad nerves my whole life in response to loud noises. One morning in school during our morning worktime we had a fire drill that was announced beforehand, but even with it being announced, when the alarm sounded, I got startled so bad that my crayon I was using to color with went flying!
I kno the feeling, always had my teacher’s kno 2 give me a heads up wen it was gonna go off.
That exact same story basically happend to me too
we haven’t had a fire drill in 1 year
recently a drill happened and my dad (who works there :D) even got surprised by the alarm
no one knew that it was a drill expect the principal and the managers there
i was like about to cry after we got outside because i have brought my ipad to school
that
specific
day
and all that crying was for nothing since it was a drill
i hate these types of fire drills, the unannounced ones
@@PabTSM-OfficialChannelwhy did they go a whole year without having a fire drill, isn’t it required by law to have a fire drill every month
@RyanLeiby entirely depends on the state. In Pennsylvania it's once a month but in Ohio it's once a year.
I’ve never heard the fire alarm at my school. Apparently, when u go to a community college, they don’t do drills. Fire drills in this case. Although I’m not sure. I have been told, they are very annoying
TheTechPianoPlayerKid I know that Moorhead state university to the east of us do frequent earthquake drills because there’s a fault line right nearby. Some have even heard small rumbles at a time as the plates slowly move till the fault line someday reactivates.
I think colleges do in between two and four drills per year, not 10. Plus, if an emergency did happen, most students would automatically know that they need to evacuate.
Everyone needs to be quite and faced the tree and you need to that’s what all the students need quite!!!
4:32 fire
4:44 teacher says “dayum that’s layoud”, don’t think he’s been working there very long at the time of recording

Me; that’s a long ways away, im to lazy to go that far
These drills make my anxiety go through the atmosphere in elementary school and still in middle today always scares me and gives me panic attacks
Never again
Those are the sounds I like of the alarms in the math building in my school
Noice
Why does this feel like New Years? At least the waiting it does
4:38 i think those girls running out of the school was funny
The old alarms should be removed and scrapped, or sent to a collection yard.
IM IN THAT SCHOOL🥶🥶
That’s cool
Warning this fire alarm sounds like a smoke detector
Reedus Angels No it doesn’t
It sounds like a fire alarm not a smoke detector
What's the difference between the two sounds?
I think one is more high pitched...
@@katherinetyler5543 one is a straight up beep at high pitch, while a fire alarm has either a buzz or a vibrating beep to it
The sound of the fire 🚨 started at 4:34 in this video.
Thank you
Those alarms sound tame compared to my high school! It was piercing the entire way when we had those that I had to put in earplugs prior to each drill :P ha It's interesting you guys do them at the same time each month. I remember we had just 4 planned a year at my school and they'd be occur near the end of different periods, but the same ones in the same weeks each year!
In real life they are bad. We have these devices at our school.
Bro we have a fire alarm where you press a button and it goes off with no warning in ireland 🇮🇪
This was two years until this happened
I might have a fire drill tommorow at highschool (it's my first year at highschool and I'm scared) but it's supposed to be when we switch classes after lunch
Cutie Huntress what are the devices?
I'm confused what you mean by "devices"...... Fire alarms obviously? Sorry I didn't mean to be rude I just don't know what you mean by devices also, we had 2 fire drills today and it was first period and last period lol

Joshua Williams nicely done with this clip!
i mean kids should be calm 2017 i run out of the class but now i do not because in 2017 the fire alarm the sound made me panic this school its kind of quiet
Yeah. You’re supposed to walk in an orderly fashion, with minimal voice level. Depending on the rules of your school, you should either stay quiet while accountability is being taken. But if they allow talking, it’s best to keep your voice low so you can hear any information.
5:26 Everyone look away from the Camera he's video taping us.
Quitting AJ lmfaooo
hey Joshua it's lori I just wanted to let you know I am doing really well at my house when we have a fire drill I panic at first because it scares me but I really sometimes I don't panic I just move quickly but I have another problem I go to a program and I have fire drills there to we have a big system it loud and continues I get scared of it what should I do if I feel afraid of the sound?
Your Like me...
I wear headphones during a drill
But your calm about it
Yup that me, tryna keep my ears safe
One time at 2:34 6 minutes until the school day finishes, someone in my class pulled the fire alarm in front of us. We were all staring at him when he pulled it.
The school should use a Simplex 4002 voice evac!
Yeah. In fact, NFPA codes require large occupancies to have voice evac. If you just had horns, people may become panicked by the sound. Not the safest idea when talking about reducing panic in an emergency.
That’s the sound of an early exit.
4:34 The drill got started right now

I had a real fire at my school
Hey, Joshua. It’s Tyler here. Because of the anxiety, do they tell you in advance of the drill? At my school, we don’t announce our drills unless it creates a very high level of anxiety for a particular student. My teacher usually will let me know because our fire alarms are super loud. How do you get a warning beforehand? Who tells you? Just curious. Thanks.
It usually all depends. When it started they wouldn’t even tell me to try and help me get over it. It didn’t work, so in the 3rd grade, they would get me out before the drill started; which continued until just last year. Nowadays, I will occasionally ask one of my teachers because they are told through Email. But most days I can tell by myself by the day, weather conditions, and the business during the particular time it’s done (Tribe Time). But rarely in our district, will you ever hear them announce that they are having a fire drill. That way students don’t act silly during it.
My name is Joshua Williams
Joshua Williams exactly the same about the part of the weather
Mine lets me know bc I have very sensitive ears
@@josephmartinez3109 same with my teachers a long time ago.
Were you a student at the time? If so, how do you do a video about fire alarms without other student around you laughing of making jokes?
Alvenh Channe Yes, and still am. I am currently starting as a Junior this year. Most students will ignore me, but I cover the camera as best as possible to keep them from staring at it. And I will cut anything inappropriate or out of purpose things off of the video that others have tried to shoehorn into the video before I upload it. But nothing always goes according to plan. Some things can happen right in the middle of the drill. If something like that does happen, I just won’t upload. It’s better to try and wait next drill and possibly have it turnout better than the previous drill than to upload something you know is nasty and will discourage others.
4:33 drill starts
Way to go my man, you are so smart
I can handle the flash of a fire drill but the sound scares the crap out of me to

Why do some genesis alarms not have fire lettering?
I have no idea
It is because the older models did not have fire lettering.
They are G1R-HDVMs
@@P42_foamer oh
The fire lettering is optional from EST. My high school had both Genesis with and without the fire lettering. Most of the high school has the Genesis without the fire lettering but 2 wings does have the fire lettering.

hi Joshua i have high anxiety a bout fire drills what is a good coping skill during a fire drill and hello Mr Donaldson i am very happy to meat you and i thank you for keeping everybody safe and good luck with everything!!
Brenda Conklin There are many ways you can cope with it, it all just depends on what methods work for you. I’ve had Fire Alarm anxiety for over 10 years. When it first started, they would take me outside before the drills, but how I coped with it, is I looked at Fire Alarms and safety on the Internet and UA-cam, and I started having the interest in it when I found my childhood Fire Alarm UA-camr Charlie Davidson (Soccerdude7330 at the time). He would do System tests in his shed, and that’s how I learned the different model numbers and codes. In 2014, when the alarm unexpectedly went off, I actually went into Fire Marshall mode instead of panic mode and instructed everyone to get 50 feet away from the building. The chief of my department at the time made me and honorary member of the department 5 days later which helped a lot! But I never started staying inside for the drills until last year. I still get a little jittery and nervous when I know we’re having a drill, but filming and talking about the drills I have noticed also helps a lot too. I hope this helps. And I’m open for any questions on Fire Alarm phobias.
oh thank you so much
@@brendaconklin6576 I also have fire alarm anxiety, but I also have an inner ear problem/mild hearing loss, so I talked with an administrator and we decided it's best for me to leave the building before the alarm goes off
I had to do the same thing a long time ago because our fire alarm was extremely loud so they thought best for me was to be outside before it went off

4:34 is when the action starts
We know
Yes. We all know that.
So, they tell you when there is going to be a fire drill?
Yes. Sometimes, students can get special accommodations for pre-announced fire drills rather than it being a surprise. For me, both types of drills are effective. If every drill was announced for example, and we had an unplanned alarm we seemed to treat it more as a real fire because we weren’t told about it. During a drill, the element of surprise does not really matter to me. As long as people generally know how to respond to the alarm that’s more important than anything.
