When you think of a 7 seat family SUV, it’s natural that Indian brand Mahindra wouldn’t have been your first choice…
But I’ve now spent a combined 3 months driving and living with the Mahindra XUV700, and I can safely say this was one of the BETTER long term experiences I had. For $39,990, the Mahindra XUV700 (or XUV7OO as it’s technically called) is an INCREDIBLE value 7 seat SUV, with Tesla rivalling ADAS, a great mstallion engine, beautiful and comfortable interior and so much more! Is it perfect? Well, no. But we will talk about that and more in today’s long-term impressions video!

I took a Scorpio for a test drive. The air coming out of the air conditioner was -5 degrees C, so to say it's freezing probably doesn't do it justice.

Summer started few weeks back and currently it’s 49 degrees in india So, that explains why Indian car or busses blast there A/cs😊
It used to be that not too long ago, it was the US cars that had the best Air Conditioner. But it seems that India has caught up or surpassed them.

I got the xuv 700 awd diesel variant covered 37k kilometers zero problems I do 1k to 1.5k long road trips in a day this is super comfortable car no fatigue no body pains nothing till today
Didn't know that if there is Diesel version outside the India

Try one out . Just for the engine. The engine is really up there man. I'd advise you to compare with any car in that price range
Clearly a real engineers car judging by the great suspension and engine. Bring on a 5-seater version in Australia and I would be sorely tempted, especially with the 7-year warranty and the unbeatable price.

Buy the 7 seater and remove the last 2 seats. That's how the 5 seater in india is with an extra plastic cover and mat.

So I guess it's just a Matter of time for it to reach on your shores buddy
Maybe the waiting period for Xuv70p has impacted their Availability abroad
In India the waiting period was almost 11-14 months which is crazy
That's how good the car is
Especially the suspension and the engine.

And I'm pretty sure when they reach it will be a huge surprise for many.. they're gonna go crazy for Tata Safari or Harrier

This car had 70,000+ bookings waiting to be delivered in India till around Dec 2023. It's an amazing reliable vehicle in huge demand. Mahindra are focusing on increasing their production in India.

my friend has this car and my only complaint is if you're not buying the top variant you don't really get all the good features such as ADAS but the engine is powerful and reliable at this pricepoint even after 2 years he's had zero complaints.

Mate, the top variant in scorpio-n and XUV700 are 39990 and 44990 AUD. Still the best value for money if you ask me.
ADAS is a bloody pain
ABOUT FUEL EFFICIENCY: Mahindra tune their petrol cars to perform like diesel cars thats why the xuv delivers its power around 4.5-5k rpm. Power delivery is bottom and mid range focused, hence he is getting under 6 l for 100kms. But for Indians that's not enough as we are obsessed with smaller 1l to 1.5l engines , we have huge traffic issues just like japan and korea so our fuel efficiency expectations are high. Similar to them we import fuel, so fuel prices are also relatively higher. For the same reasons , globally proven Honda crv and Mitsubishi outlander never worked in India.
It drinks 12-13 litres per 100 kilometers in India. His fuel efficiency number seems off. Nobody here has claimed such high numbers.

That’s interesting. In the video the screens look like Samsung screens in which the black parts are really black. I love it.

Mind you the suspension is noisy.

Bro i got diesel xuv500. 1 tank=approx 950km
There are some new additions in feature list (ventilated seats, memory adjustable orvms, captain seats) and a new black color in india.

It is almost 2/3rd the price in Australia as compared to India. Definitely a no-brainer at that price point.
Probably the best Review of XUV700 with regards to price/feature/value ratio Compared some others who at the end of the video recommend please go with known brands like Mitsubishi or honda etc. Its always good to give the honest reviews. well done.

I'm surprised to see that the top model of the Mahindra XUV700 is available for around $26,000 USD in Australia while the same is available for around $37,000 USD (~ ₹3 million INR) in India. I expected it to be cheaper over here than the overseas market.
Indian government taxes and duties. Hence the price is up in India.

This is definitely one of the best-looking SUVs available in India, it has premium features, superb safety, and the latest techs. The best part is that this vehicle is not as pricey as it looks.
It is really not the best looking SUV, but Indians are partial to Mahindra looks.
Got my XUV 700 AX7L Petrol AT delivered by april 14th 2024. Drove 300KMs in a single lane / no lane rural road and highways and the worst city traffic in Madurai (Azhagar Festival). if you are a driver / owner xuv is amazing to ride. No drowsiness or tired. Good maneuvering in all kinds of roads.
Looks befter than most new Nissans, Mitsubishi's and Subaru's.

Good one bro 👌I really think it’s a great car. I had driven Kodiaq & Xuv 700 same day. Kodiaq was slow and heard lot of clinking noise from engine. Other side Xuv700 was quite powerful and responsive. I was surprised. It’s was quite a smooth drive.👌👍

Dont compare apples to oranges. We have this cross over craze10-15 lac segment where Kia and Hyundai have better offerings. Also Mahindra has been really working hard to create a Global R&D infrastructure. They started only in 2020. The benefits are coming in the new models now. Wait and see.

Mahindra has nothing to compete with Creta, Seltos and Verna.
XUV 300 was outdated against Venue and Sonet, now with the launch of XUV 3xo it'll be interesting to see how many they sell.
Wait there's more. They're testing XUV 300 which is a facelift and soon Thar 5 door will launch till August 15. And end December 2024 we'll see EXUV 700 the electric version of this car. More surprises on the way as 2024 passes.
When engine is built-in house by a company with 80-year of solid manufacturing experience, I would also be very very keen buy at this price point!
I have a xuv 500 with 90000 ++ km on it with a turbo and egr. i recently have a look at it and was very clean for 90k. only major part replaced were the suspensions.

I can always tell I drove xKM and so I burnt yL of fuel, I rarely ever drive in multiples of 100 KM to tell the fuel burnt?

Scorpio N is a ladder frame 4x4 off road capable suv.....and in india scorpio N is much cheaper than XUV 700, so basically different segment
Honestly Scorpio is more of an off-road focused car. But definitely XUV 700 is more refined.
Xuv 700 is more focusing on comfort rather scorpio focused more on offroading

It’s one of the most loved cars in 🇮🇳 in SUV semi-premium section.
I have the prev version xuv 500 AWD. I just fold the rear two seats in the cavity and one gets a 5 seater+ fabulous flatbed cargo space. In the past 9 years, I have used the rear seats just once. One can just pull them up. I rate this car very high.

Probably 5 star. The ANCAP of XUV 500 was 4 stars. The 700 is pretty more advanced
As an Indian i would be more happy if Mahindra Australia would be able to launch their entire fleet with AWD Diesel and AWD petrol just like they did in India with interior colour option.

This car has some crazy quirks. The entry level car lacks 4 way steering adjustment and no models have illuminated drivers side mirror on the visor.

What I like about this car is its suspension. It's much more comfortable than the wrangler.
Yes because this car is not a pure offroader vehicle .mahindra make this car for a big family with limited offroad capabilities . Its main purpose is pack your bags and go for a long family roadtrip.

The only downsides for me are the 1500kg towing rating - should be 2500, and the nearest dealer is over 100km away

Its a great 7 seater car in the segment and probably the best value for money car.
This is a message to Australians , from a native indian. This car is reliable as hell , and its cheap because the labour in india is cheaper. But i can assure you , Mahindra are the most passionate car markers from our country. The customer service is impeccable. We want to build great cars for all of you , take a test drive , and consider it . Much love
