- I replaced the original mono film soundtrack with the sparkling stereo recording released on First Hand Record's "Judy Garland: The London Studio Recordings." Simply a must have CD for fans of Miss Garland (or anyone with good taste in music.) Recorded May 9, 1962 at the Abbey Road Studio before a live audience.
It would be so nice to have a remastered blu-ray release of this film with the concert scenes in stereo!

For those of you who never had the opportunity to see Judy in person, this clip is representative of how she performed on stage. Pure dynamite!

She has been performing since she was little making movies, dancing, singing, acting so when I've been watching her all those years so I was so happy to see her grown up and doing her tv shows. I never saw her in person. But this Bluebird and others just knock my socks off!! Thank you Judy Garland and who ever put these on utube to see. Bluebird is my favorite. I listen and watch it several times a week.

Judy was a force of nature ! She is absolutely shimmering with talent and charisma .There should have been many more Judy Garland films!
Judy looks and sounds so strong and beautiful here. I've always loved how she used those well toned dancer's legs to strut around that stage. She just totally owned that stage in this number.

So was she was a has-been flop in her final movie, I COULD GO ON SINGING? With blockbusters like this one and "By Myself" she was once again at her greatest!

Maybe the medication she was prescribed affected her mental n physical status but those medications did not I any way affect the high quality of her voice and her outstanding performances in any way! I think that is what makes this icon so amazing 🌈💝🌈

And this was when her voice was starting to lose a little of its shine and power after being diagnosed with emphysema caused from a lifetime of heavy smoking! And she SLAYED it!!!
I think her voice varied a bit from performance to performance. Maybe a little rougher. But losing a little power? Are we listening to the same song? She was a mess, but emphysema? Where did you read that? Smoking sure doesn't help any singer...

A perfect example of why Judy is one of the greatest entertainers who ever lived. Here at 40 she had attained the kind of extraterrestrial recognition that performers today can only dream of. For people my age, late boomers and beyond, we only know her as Dorothy Gale. So to see her at her most great and wonderful best in performing in front of an audience is such a treat. Watching again. 3 or 4 times a week. She's so amazing. All that training, talent, hard work, movies, dancing, and no one else is this prepared or could do this.
Also a major nod to Mort Lindsey for his arrangement of this song. He took what was a originally fairly ricky-tick number from 1926, and crafted it into a killer showcase for Garland.
