- Mistakes To Avoid When Using A Spin Bike!
You may think riding a bike is easy. You jump on and start to peddle your way to get a good cardio session on.
If you think that’s all you need to do for a good cardio session, then you’re wrong!
Don’t:
❌ Have the seat low
❌ Light Tension
❌ Extreme Curved Back
❌ Keeping head down
Do:
✅ Adjust the seat high enough that the leg can be fully extended.
✅ Back straight with minor curvature.
✅ Keep head up and chest up.
✅ Tension is high and hard.
✅ Wear bike shoes with clips
Make these adjustments on the spin bike and do an actual ride for 20 - 60 mins, and you’ll feel a difference!
You’re working out, not taking a cruise.

Still wrong. That seat is too high. His knees go too straight and his knees lock. Repeated locking of the knees is gonna make it even worse. To measure seat height, legs should be fully extended from the heels making the knee very slightly bent in a normal cycling position.
I mean he did say tips you want to avoid
Didn't see his knees locking.
Please tell me at what point his knees are locking
In this context locking the knees means overextending the legs to a point where the legs are fully extended at the knee. Take a look at his first pedal after "adjusting" the seat. I do think his legs go too straight for cycling and the knees are involved more than they should be. He does say adjust the seat so that your legs are fully extended, this is wrong information. Legs are never fully extended when cycling, this would just kill the knees. As a simple rule, to adjust the seat height, the heel is placed on the pedal and the leg is extended. This way, when the normal cycling position is taken, the legs are bent just enough to protect the knees.
@@uralmutlu4320 your knees are not made up of mashed potatoes, they will not break when cycling on that machine lmao
These fitness vids are funny because they show people looking really confident saying something really stupid.
You adjust the seat to hit right at your hip bone. Seat to the handle bars you can simply put your elbow on the front of the seat until your fingertips reach the front of the handle bar. The distance of the seat to the front or rear should be set to when your feet are parallel when locked in....your knee does not go past your toes.
Tip: Don't listen to this guy.
Hahaha😂😂
He started the video by saying “Here’s some tips you want to avoid” 😂
More tension is not always better, as long as you’re sweating and your heart rate is up you’re fine, you can work up your tension in order to keep it challenging as you go
70 to 90 rpm on my bike, feels good
That’s exactly right. On hard rides, I’ll average 95 RPM. It comes down to power. More power = more calories. In fact, you can calculate your calorie burn directly from your average power.
also more tension is not good for knees
@@EagleLogicI average 170 rpm
@@iskiiwizz536mine is like 170-180
I’m 4’11” like the first seat position was almost actually perfect for my tiny legs lol 😅
The knee has to be a bit relaxed instead of fully extended and the back must keep mobility so you don't develop a disc hernia
This video lives rent-free in my head.
Umm all of it is wrong 😑 seat is too high and you don’t need the tension to always be high
I guess he meant that you shouldn’t have the tension so low that you’re not increasing your heart rate that much. A lot of people will focus on km rather than bpm. He should’ve clarified what he meant though as it gave the impression that the higher the tension the better.
😮i didn’t know the front part could be move it
Thanks a lot. I was doing that mistake to,
This is when the instructor has the responsibility to provide correct guidance to his or her participants 😊
Bro didn't miss a single Tricep day
This may not the best demonstration of a bike set up, but he has an idea of what he's talking about. When he said with his mouth "..adjust the seat to a height where you can fully extend..." he got it wrong, the knee should be slightly bent, he is a lil higher than his natural height. There's also a lot omitted on the set up, but this is a good start
Tysm sir
Yup. He said it himself “Tips you want to avoid…”😅😅😅
PLEEEEEASE ADJUST THE SEAT AT YOUR HIP!!! If you adjust your seat like this, go ahead and get the epsom salt, heating pad, and frozen veggies ready for the knee pain
Tips you wanna avoid? 🤔
😂
Great tips! I didn’t know this and I just ordered a bike
that is awesome

Thanks
Awesome legs!
Superb
I've learned to set the seat height so that your legs don't extend below 90 degrees. If it's below 90 degrees it's to low and you'll hurt your knees.
High seat low resistence
Low seat high resistence
I find if you have your seat too low it will hurt your knees as well.
I didn’t know I could adjust those
The seat position… if someone has it low they might be working calves, js
As a cyclists id give 2 tips for the fitment , 1.put ur heel on the pedal and u want to raise the saddle till the leg is fully extended 2. When u lay forwards and ur arms are 90° bent , the elbow should touch ur knee . ( Adjust ur handlebar and saddle forwards or backwards till u get that position and remember the numbers of the adjustment for the next time you hop on again since others will ruin it for you )
Sorry if this sounds stupid lol but do I have to hold on?
Bike fit is critical. Going out on a 50 mile ride requires correct saddle and handle bar height as well as the correct size stem.
Strong tension??? Wrong…
Literally the only 3 things you can fuck up 😂
Does more tension cause you to burn more calories?
Burn more faster and you’ll sweat more and faster
Knees should bend about 5-15 degrees. If you’re knee is locking out the seat is too high.
Are the calories burned trackers accurate on these exercise bikes?
it's all garbage
Tips you want to avoid. Got it.
😂😂😂😂
That saddle is too high.. you are gona snap your knee..
Nah you’re too high up, you don’t want to lock out your knees. To actually get good seat height you can sit on the bike and have one of your legs dropped down FLAT on the pedal with a slight bend, if you try to push down your heel and your knee locks out raise the seat a tiny bit. You never want your knees to lock out on a bike. NEVER.
He just said tips to avoid he didnt even adjust he just pulled it up and showed an example
why did i think this was david goggins
😂😂 same bro
Ive never seen anyone do that first one
If you want to do it correctly your legs should never fully extend.
Bro, you looked like you was driving a pedal car in the beginning before adjusting. 😂
would you please be so kind as to put a motor on a stationary bike so the motor exercises my legs for me , please
Actually we all make mistakes but we learn our mistakes.
Seat always higher than the bars .
I don't understand what the meters mean
Wow
Price please?
Why it is wrong ? "Not looking right" is not a convincing answer. Can anyone explain?
lol tighten tension is the the least thing u want when starting, yea sure if u want to have super big muscle, those are just for sprints. but for average person, this is putting a lot of heavy pressure on your knee. let alone the wrong saddle hight.
Your seat is too high
Doing this can reduce weight loose please reply
Weight loss comes from eating habits, not from fitness/cardio/exercises. Exercise might help your metabolism work properly, but it cannot outpace a bad diet.
In other words, you can't exercise out a bad diet. Get a nutritionist to help you with weight loss.

So wheres the tip?

Still not correct because When you extend your legs you make it easier so you don't really work compared when you don't extend your legs ...
I think you adjust according to your objective
Noice
Complete nonsense what you say, take courses from ICG!
Im the first guy, but I also like working different parts of my legs that I dont workout on a regular bike because of adjustment
you put your saddle way to high
Tips... you want to avoid !
Man you are absolutely wrong 🤣
how ?
@@bigjatt5172 Many tips in the other comments. But his seat is too high (his knees should bent a bit), bike shouldn't have too much tension (unless you've been doing it for a long time and really know what you're doing or has a trainer with you) and handlebars are positioned wrong as well...
Extra tip:
Just buy your own bike
Or just another simple solution buy an actual bike go for a ride it feels so much better anyway
U need to focus on your legs 🦵
this random dude gave every wrong advice possible and still got 300k views. 2023.
Do not listen to this man lol your legs do NOT want to fully extend. Why? Because it will eat away at your cartilage behind your knee over the years. Slight bend in the legs will stop this from happening.
Do the knees going up to belly level help with the core? Ik it’s cardio but just want to fill in the blanks
Seat too high
Dude..remake the video..all wrong
Bad advice. Better videos are out there.
See you in knee surgery....
way too high. lol
Thank you coach!
no doubt
