I'm late on the show but what the woman says is a conclusion/vulgarisation of the 2nd law of thermodynamics (which is not small class science) that gives it's name to the album. Yes, Matt's a effin genius!

Lots of people say he's using the midi pad for those sounds but most of them I haven't seen him touching the pad as he needs toactually pick the strings, I'm pretty sure it's done using pre set midi information set up before the show to automatically do the dubstep stuff, doesn't make it any less cool though, he's still making all this crazy sounds with just an electric guitar and some pedals
