Dr low is a very humble and assuring person at her practice, at least as her patient i can attest to that, doesnt mean that she owns dior says that shes arrogant etc . She deserves to spend her money however she wants :)

@@oo-oe4km What's so wrong with it? So you don't appreciate things/product's brand with history? Things like collecting watches demand history from the brand? Eg. the usual Rolex Sub you see in the entire Singapore/world is one example of a historic icon which is what made it so popular to this day - other than the aesthetic for some.
I personally buy things and take into account on the history of the brand (I cannot assume to know what she means by the history of CD as I do not know CD's history), many brands are successful to this day partly owing to their history too. Ferrari/Porsche has enjoyed multiple race-wins and championships, Toyota famously uses Kaizen/LEAN-manufacturing in "The Toyota Way" motto since the last mid-century.
She can do what she wants with her money. But, if she is only doing charity for Reputation or PR purposes that isn't right.

@@oo-oe4km Aiya, the "history" thing is just CNA trying to push an angle. I was there shooting the interview as an intern - she doesn't seem like the kind of snob who thinks that the history of some superficial brand is that important in my opinion. She seems like quite a nice person.

I think what the netizens are upset about is that it just seems kinda shallow. You talk "diversity of society," yet there are other profiles in the Remarkable Living series that present a more diversified perspective than the Singaporean ones, like the many artisans who craft very intricate and beautiful products that Singaporeans couldn't hope to replicate.
Basically, it's just clothes and bags. Kinda boring IMO. Far from what I would call "diversity."

The problem with people is.....when someone donates 10% of income, people complain say why only 10% should donate half! When someone donates 50% of income and use the remaining to enjoy life e.g. eat good food, buy branded bags, people get angry again and say if got so much money to buy branded things, might as well do charity!
Then when someone donates a lot, people say he/she is just trying to build reputation, show off to other people only. Charity should be a selfless act, not for show. But please think about it.....ALL OF THESE ABOVE ARE ALREADY BETTER THAN YOU WHAT YOU DID, and better than what an average person did. For example....I think I only donated a pathetic $100 in total in my whole life ok? So I better shut up now.

It is both shallow and hypocrisy to talk about charity and boosting about your luxury at the same time. Real charitable ppl dun go splurging their own $ for silly things like that because at the end of the day, they realize and understand that making an impact thru charity work is more meaningful than buying shitloads of stupid bags etc for your own indulgence to satisfy your own envy.
