      Hello Jane,
      Lovely to hear from you. And I’m really pleased to hear that you’re still making mosaic. Unfortunately that gold mirror Glass is no longer being made as far as I’m aware. It was the very last piece of spectrum I had left and had been saving for years.
      Gold mirror is available, but it’s darker and certainly not as bright as this one. I will have a look around for you see if I can find anything but at the moment I’m in the same boat as you. 😢

    Will grozing pliers work to take the shard off? Thank you.😊

      I'm sure they will. I've never really got on with mine, but if you have them, give it a go.

    Hi Sue, may I ask where I can buy the gold glass on the first image of the feather please. I’ve been wanting some for years. I used to buy a gold mirror glass but it hasn’t been available for years as far as I know so I would really appreciate any help in sourcing some gold shiny glass … thank you for the wonderful video it’s so helpful. I took a weekend class with you years ago which I enjoyed so much! I haven’t stopped making since… x

    Awsome. Can we do the same with miror?

    • @SueSmithGlassMosaics
      @SueSmithGlassMosaics  Рік тому

      You would need 3 mm mirror if you were going to use it with a stained glass mosaic and I do not know if you could get them this thin. If you use 2mm thick mirror you should be able to get these shards.

    Can this technique be used to simulate fur? I'm wanting to do a rabbit mosaic.

      Unless you were doing a huge rabbit I don’t think this style of cutting woodwork however, there is a way to smaller pieces to make it look like fur. I haven’t filmed a video on that that it’s similar to the way I cut the petals for salvia in my free course, I’ll attach a link below. Once you’ve cut the initial petals you just need to re-shape the wider ends to make them more pointed. Difficult to explain in writing.

    Your work is amazing and I'm very grateful, but could you please speak louder? I am not trying to insult you, I promise. If I was in your country I would take a class. With my microphone turned up quite a bit though, I have to focus so hard on hearing you. Thank you.

      Hi Liz,
      I’m sorry, no I can’t speak any louder, it’s my voice. To speak louder I’d have to shout. I was always getting told off for that at school and never got a pet for a play. There is a volume icon on the bottom of the screen on the actual UA-cam film and obviously another on your laptop or computer. I may be able to edit the video and make it louder but that might distort the other noises. Plus there was somebody in the unit next to me working and that would bring the volume up on that as well but I’ll see what I can do.

      You may also be able to increase the volume by going into your settings on your laptop or computer and adjusting the sound there.
