    Great review. I just picked up my new TRK502X a few days ago and immediately rode it 850km through New Zealand to get it home. Coming from my old bike which was a KTM Duke 390, the level of comfort and ability to cruise at higher speeds is great on this for a learner approved bike. My biggest complaint so far is the vibrations at higher rpm. The exhaust note is spectacular as well 😁
    Cheers from New Zealand 🇳🇿

      Just bought my 2020 TRK502 (Street version) on 6 days ago (26th March) and I think the bike is real value for money. It's not a GS for sure but it's good, no need to break the bank to ride a decent motorbike. Just put about 350km on it.......let's see how the 5000km mark will look on it.

    Traded in my 4 month old Royal Enfield Himalayan for the Benelli TRK502. Best decision! I use the bike for touring with a pillion and the Himalayan with its single cylinder was very underpowered. The TRK is perfect for my use!

      @@alexkrasteff4061 yes its a great motorcycle! The only issue I have is its weight. Pushing it around the garage and stopping on an uneven terrain is always a worry. Once you drop it there's no keeping it up. If you are tall and a bit musculan then that is not going to be an issue though.

    I have the standard TRK and have completed 4000 trouble free miles. I moved down from a 1200 BMW and have found this a brilliant bike. I have short legs and I can get my feet flat down easily. This lower power has allowed me to enjoy the environment I am riding through and has been perfect for me up in the Scottish Highlands. My wife confirmed that the pillion seat is very comfortable and I have completed a 600 mile day long ride without complaint. Just wish there were some dealers up here in Scotland.

    I have only had mine for a week or so and not gone far but I really like it ... proper comfy. I have had way too many bike over 40 odd years and I think if I had come to this from my ZZR1400 or maybe any of my many large capaicty bikes then probably been disappointed on power ... however my last 3 bikes have been XT660z's (which are great bikes) but they are slower than the Benelli and so I am happy with the power ... and I'm on 9 points 🤣
    I have moved the gear lever up a notch or two as I found my boot was struggling to get under it, also took the rubber footpeg fittings off and thats better and no vibes funnily enough ... yes there are some obvious cost cutting of plastics and the switches are cheap but the value is kept where needed i.e. peach of an engine and gearbox, decent brakes, super comfy seats, decent forks etc etc ... I really like it.

I think as long as you stay above 500cc, even if you miss the power at first you soon acclimatise to it and eventually you forget about the power difference from the big litre plus bikes, especially when the bike is really nice to ride like the TRK is. I did exactly the same with the gear changer on my bike too. Ride safe 👍

I now have almost 6000 miles on the TRK and have no reason to sell it. Fabulous bike for the money. Obviously the Tiger or the Africa Twin are far superior bikes but that isn't what the question should be. Brilliant review and I would agree with everything and I'm at 7600 miles (2021, 502, non-X)
    Just finished 3100+ miles solo trip with 190,000 vertical feet, almost all road though some were marginal.
    Did some intentional moderate off-road and a few "holy-$h!t-how-did-I get-here" stuff.
    This bike did everything I asked of it with no complaints.
    Got 55-62mpg. Had some serious wind on a few days and agree this bike is very stable in both head and cross-winds.
    One question... would you consider changing the front sprocket to 15 tooth to drop some RPM on the motorway?
    Have a HUGE trip in the planning stage and this might be a significant advantage.
    Great vid! Subscribed,.

      Thank you for checking out the video. I have videos on the channel showing the 15T front sprocket upgrade I have done and the results of it on the road riding. However I'm not sure how it would work on the standard 502 as they have slightly different gearing to the X version. I have seen posts saying the standard chain on the 502 is not big enough to accommodate a 15T sprocket, which I can believe as the chain is a 114 link on the 502 compared to a 116 link on the X. However I've also read posts saying it does fit with a standard 114 link chain. So at the end of the day I cannot say for certain as I've never tried fitting the 15T sprocket to a standard 502. Sorry I can't be of more help. Ride safe 👍

    Your bike is in lovely nick. What do you use to apply the ACF 50? I’ve always found the aerosol pretty useless and the pump spray they supply with the bottle doesn’t really give a good even misted coating. Thanks for checking out the channel. I use the pump spray bottle but I make sure the ACF 50 is heated up so that it becomes thinner consistency and easier to spray. I fill a bowl full of boiling water and then submerge the bottle of ACF 50 in it fir 10 minutes. It seems to the trick. Ride safe 👍

    Great review. I'm coming from Kawasaki 1000 and thinking about this bike or nc750x dct. I like the look of Benelli more, and that is quite an important factor. Also, the price difference is significant. I loved Kawasaki, but with my height of 6.2 this bike was uncomfortable for anything longer than 40 miles. Benelli seat height is 840mm, which is a bonus. Honda is famous for its reliability. Hard choice

      Thanks for checking out the review. Both bikes are very good bikes. The NC has more power than the TRK but I still prefer the TRK. I think it is definitely a more comfortable bike and has far more character than th NC. I don't think you could go wrong with either bike and the best thing to do is to test ride them both. I have a few reviews of both bikes (full road tests and long term ownership reviews) on the channel which may be of interest. Ride safe 👍

      @@BikeRiderReviews Thank you for your reply. I can't wait for the end of the lockdown. I might be wrong, but in terms of power, the difference between a 140hp bike and a 50hp one will be most noticeable on the motorway, not while riding in the city with 30 miles speed limit. Are the tyres tubeless on the Benelli?

    • @BikeRiderReviews
      @BikeRiderReviews  3 роки тому +1

      @@chrisw4215 I agree about what you say about the power. The only time I miss the extra power is on the motorway. The bike is adequately powered to do motorways but I miss having the low rev cruising capability of a bigger engine. I'm going to change the front sprocket which a lot of people have recommended to reduce the revs at top speed. The tyres are tubed but if you take a look on the channel at a review of a product called tyreseal then I think it won't be an issue to worry about. 👍

      @BikeRiderReviews  2 роки тому +1

      I don't think I explained the mileage very well during the video, I bought the bike second hand, so obviously it already had miles on the clock, the 3000 miles were what I put on at that point, from memory I think the bike had around 8000 miles on the clock. I have a video coming yp the channel in the next few weeks showing how to change the chain and sprockets and at the beginning of the video I do a close up walk around showing the overall condition of the bike now that it has around 13000 miles on the clock and to be honest it's in just as good condition as in this video. I hope that explains the mileage a bit better, sorry for the confusion. Ride safe 👍

    • @BikeRiderReviews
      @BikeRiderReviews  3 роки тому

      Hi sorry for the late reply, I must of missed your comment. With your height I think you will learn to handle the weight of the bike. A very good tip is be conscious of looking at the ground where you plan to stop and place your feet down. If the camber of the road slopes left to right, always lean the bike towards the high side of the slope and put your foot down on the high side of the slope. If you are parking the bike on a hill always have the front of the bike pointing up the hill. This will prevent the bike falling off its stand and if you need to move the bike out of a parking bay you can simply start the bike and ride it out instead of having to maul the bike backwards by hand up the slope. I hope this helps. Ride safe.
