Driving one of these now. BE AWARE that one of the things we have all had to change out before you cannot do yourself. During one of my pre-trip inspections I noticed my passenger headlight were out. Although, it is just a high beem light, if DOT pulls you off for inspection you are required to have both high and low beems working. Long story short, Freightliner has made it so you cannot change either bulb. It has to be done by the shop or at least buy one at the shop. It isn't just a bulb, it is the entire headlight assembly. They run anywhere between 800.00 and 1000.00 dollars to buy plus an hour labor. But you can't do that either because they are on national back order!!! What the heck Freightliner???
This has to be one of the absolute best truck tour videos I’ve ever watched. Bravo. 🎉
Glad you liked it! Thank you for watching and sharing!
Very professional and clean video. Informative and concise.
I wish I could drive one of these. Frieghtliner is my truck of choice. I've driven Mack's, Pete's and KW's. There's something special about that new FL smell.
Heh.😏
Why would you put the fire extinguisher in the middle of that driver side sleeper door space? It takes over all the room in the middle for drivers tools or what they need to put in there. And also everyone must know that those Parksmart APU's do not work very well with blowing out A/C in 80F or above. You have to run the truck and use trucks A/C because the Parksmart A/C dose not blow out cold enough to keep you cool in the sleeper.
Freightliner finally got the dash the way I like
Side deflectors is suck, it makes too much whistle noise and puts all of rain and snow passes through truck windows and you still can't able to see "Clear" mirrors
100% agree
you have to get ride of that 2 shelf holder next to the steering wheel. we need that to mount our gps, tablet or other electronics that we need accessible.
Nice Video, but talks about the sidelight producing too much drag and it had to be moved, yet installing a reverse light that disturbs the airflow massively ( 9:44 )
This guy sold it haha made me want to buy one now ! Good job sales man !
The head visor does more than just black sun from the driver, it’s an arrow dynamic wind 💨 hook which causes the wind to hook under the visor and pull the truck along the road if he’s doing over 60 miles an hour increasing fuel mileage
Its nice and all for comfort, but once you get out on thw road, you better be ready for all the annoying ass sensors going off......
You can turn most of them off
@@jordanab100 lane detection does not stay off and can't turn off forward radar that thinks bridges are a hazard
@@moparjr89 yes you can! The lane departure has those two dedicated speakers. The covers just pop off and you can unplug the spade connector. That solves that. As for the forward Radar just unplug the sensor in the bumper. The cruise will still work. If you don't want to unplug the sensor just tape a piece of foil over it. Then if you want to change any thing in the emc the code is 0000 and any mechanic can set speed or anything else for $100
@@mike-sk2li and all that will get a drivers ass fired ASAP .
@@moparjr89 - bullshit. LD has saved my ass from driving off the cliff more than once…. Learn to drive, learn to keep your truck in the middle of your lane instead of drifting left.
now for ats also 🥰
my favorated truck on ATS:)
In ats its the 2019 version
The Parksmart APU sucks. During comfort mode the truck turns on and idles to make the truck cooler. The APU cannot keep the truck cool with it just running by it self. So around 90F it will turn on about every 30m or 45m and run for about an hour to keep the truck cool. There is no point of having an APU if the truck is going to idle and waste fuel. If I had to buy this truck again I would never get the Parksmart APU with it. I would tell the dealer to find me a truck without it and I would put a desiel APU in.
The Dclimate APU is good. It’ll only turn the truck on if the battery volt goes below 11.8, which isn’t too often
Rob did a great job in this video!
Well said !! I'm not even a driver though I'd love to tour the states in this beast !!
Good time to become a trucker and we need more truckers in the states. 😁
Turn on some lights so i can see
I like the KW’s pivoting desk and pivot in chair
Nice review well explained.. only thing missing was if you didn’t open the upper bunk and show the space there....
He missed to tell you were the air compressor is located. It sits up against the chassis which isn’t a easy location to remove to get serviced
Wait did he say water for transmissions? Also I see nothing new on the exterior besides the thing that’s supposed to deflect wind and water away from the mirrors which I heard doesn’t help at all.
He said it’s a 3 piece hood even tho it’s a one piece🤦🏽♂️😂
I already have this truck in ats
Same loollll
@@distinct_mods1318 same loll
This dude did a fantastic job of hosting the tour.
I could be mistaken, but it seems that there is less cabinet space in this 2021 model than I have in my 2015. Or I should say less USEABLE cabinet space. I have an under bunk refrigerator “drawer” that utilizes the under-bunk space much more efficiently than my previous year models did, which allows that section of cabinet space to be an actual cabinet instead of the fridge that is shown here. And the platform next to the head of the bed is essential for nighttime things, and that has been removed in this 2021 model. I’m thinking all that would be a deal breaker for me, sorry to say. Love the look of the outside though!
Excellent professional review of my favorite truck, a Freighliner Cascadia 2021!
Glad you liked it!
These trucks suck. The hill start assist, cruise, traction control and abs don't work on the one I drive. The others in the fleet are hit or miss. I can't believe Freightliner put out such a piece of junk
Hard to go for a ride when you pull out the yellow button out.😉
Excellent walk thru👍🚛
I been driving mostly Volvo, I like them cuz of the smooth ride and space.. freight liners, “freight-shaker” known by, I wonder if that’s changed.you just feel every mile…
The freighliner it’s a wild horse, but it’s paying your bills, It’s almost anybody can fixed this truck but Volvo only the Dealership, Lol
I’m driving a 2016 Cascadia my work partner always complains about no cup holder on the top bunk. Has that changed in the new 2021/22 models.
Very well explained sir where is compartment light in off switch
You speak so nice and correctly. Not too much not to less. Pleasure to listen )
Thank you for your positive feedback!
a large part of the switches and switches come from the 2004 Mercedes actros, i.e. they are very old, but always worked, . good materials, no possibility of dividing the bottom bed and the table in the middle, cb radio in the glove compartment? it would be a pity to be somewhere in a visible place. Your weights are cool, we don't have them in Europe. despite 28 years at the wheel, sometimes I want to go to the US truck for a few days and go for a ride.
Looks good now. 2 years from now all you see is rust running down the outer skins because they can’t paint the inside of the brackets. How much would that cost. Pennies
Best description I’ve heard so far….however he forgot to mention what brand of engine under the hood.
I think that’s a Detroit DD15
I'm not even a truck driver and I want one of these, probably better on fuel than my current pickup too
Looks like a great truck, but the fuel filler neck should be at the far aft end of the tank.. having it that far up makes it difficult for the fuel nozzle to stay in there.
Is that truck concidered a P3 because of the limited features other 2021s have? Noticed you call the door radars wind deflectors. And no tablets on dash. The cluster is a tablet now and one mounted on dash as well. From a mechanics stand point the frame y's out now from front to back I like. The motor is lowered 3 inches and cab moved back 3 inches as well. Never mentioned how the steering wheel has sensors in them now to see if the driver is holding it properly. This new cascadia is mainly designed to be a taddle tale for the business owners I believe. The timing when the cameras activate is when the driver isn't being perfect. Such as driving 80 mph and over for over 1 minute and many other reasons. Not a fan as usual unless it has a cummins in it.
I have a 2019. I love the cascadia...
my company has a fleet of 2019 2020 volvos. i used a 2021 cascadia for a day as a rental. i would trade the volvo for the cascadia any day of the week. more comfortable, more room, less techy annoyances like beeping and buzzing. the only issues with the cascadia i had which isnt present in this particular truck is it had a huge radar system mounted on the windhsheiild blocking a sizeable amount of vision. the side mirrors seemed to small as well
In Europe the Volvotrucks are great. Much power, good transmissions and a high visibility. The mirrors are perfect mounted haddn´t those big brackets.
I'm driving your new cascadia's and compared to the older models with the nice, spacious interiors, everything in the right place, these new trucks unfortunately are junkie!
Yes good Tupperware your, I am waiting for what makes the truck go? Perhaps🤔 Thank you
Nice features Also could have used fuel tank openings for diesel & def on both fairings And deer guard beside that nice truck. Peace and prosperity!!!!
Ronald King thanks for the feedback
That truck will spend more time in the shop that in that wind tunnel he talked about
NICE!!! Thinking about leasing one, while my Volvo is down for transmission replacement..
Looking forward great 👍 truck great 👍👍👍👍🇦🇺
Excelent video!!! 👍👍👍👍
Nice review, viewing from Kingston Jamaica.
Really nice! But I think they dropped the ball by not adding a rear view camera (hook up assist). :-(
If you need a camera to hook up to a trailer then you should not drive its stupid simple to line up the truck to hook up
Nobody NEEDS any of the creature comforts that vehicles come with nowadays, but that doesn't make them less convenient or nice to have. When's the last time you had to roll up your windows? It's stupid simple to do that and yet we have power windows, locks and everything else in vehicles today. So there....
Good presenter. Should consider adding a flexible, tilting solar panel on top to charge batteries and, or run AC for keeping cabin temp within a range
Truck has autostart to charge batteries
that was a big ride he took
I need this as my new daily driver for this crazy @$$ LA traffic!!!!💯
What specs does these trucks have for good fuel economy?
Looks absolutely great.
Plastics are a wonderful thing, unless you live someplace like Alaska, in Arctic temperatures they'll become brittle and will shatter like glass when hit.
Since I don’t live in Alaska, your use case doesn’t apply to people here in the lower 48.
Great presentation. Do you guys provided financial help to move forward?
This guy is one of the best vehicle representatives I've ever seen
Hmmm lots of the switches and knobs are from Mercedes Actros trucks, like the one that i drive😑😑😑
Freightliner is owned by merecedes
thanks fof tbe tour
Hey excellent video but somebody needs to talk to Freightliner about that front window rain deflector wing that is supposed to keep rain off the window and mirrors because it doesn’t work. It’s a nice idea but whatever they did only made it worse. Thank you. Have a nice day😎
Add standard 110 V power outlet. Its really important for some essential things, like pap machine for people with sleep apnea who need this air pump overnight.
Thats what the 3000 Watt inverter shown at 10:00 is for
@@matt420740 tHANK YOU
I prefer custom LED lights on the back for a much brighter and wider range of light
11:32 that plastic dash scratches super easy even with a microfiber cloth.
Very informative video
Question for you though
For the companies that have these trucks that do not supply refrigerators...
I'm wondering what the dimensions are of the area where the fridge sits when the driver wants to use their own fridge...
Depth, width, and height?
I would like to use the 4.6 cu ft unit. Is there enough room?
4.6 cu ft
48.9" tall
21.61" deep
19.13" wide
3.1 cu ft
32.87" tall
21.1" deep
19 13" wide
How hard is it for Freightliner to add a refrigerator the same size as the VNL860's?
Wow nicely done😍😍😍
Does it still have a solid spring arm or did they upgrade the front axel suspension.
Enough Said I'll Take it !!
Really good video 👍
Only thing I wish freightliner would do is have a fridge with bigger freezer. I like to cook in my truck. Healthier and cheaper.
Whatever year cascadia I'm in has no leg room and ass flattening seats 👍
Young man you did a good job on the inside and outside of the truck but you didn't talk about the fridge what size is it is it going to be in or what
Nice truck
5:50 that's bs it now makes the side windows dirty so you can't see out the side mirrors
It does it anyways honestly. Atleast that’s been my experience. I have to clean the windows and mirrors daily whenever it’s bug season or winter
Cascadia is a gorgeous truck, but freighliner NEEDS to improve quality. They can be better than peterbilt and KW, but they have to do something about their quality. Design is gorgeous, the truck is actually very reliable, but the plastics fall apart. If it felt like VOVLO VNL inside, it would have been a perfect truck. Freigtliner, please do something about the quality of your interior so it does not feel so cheaply made. Please. Thank you.
Cool truck. Gonna buy it!
Looks like freightliner took a lot of input from my 99 volvo 770🙂
Almost the same features🙂
What about engine model, size,HP, torque, transmission and drive axle ratio? Price?
Add a Ex-Guard and you won't need to replace the hood or bumper etc..
If your getting an ex-guard, make sure your axle isn’t rated 12,500lbs, which is the default configuration
Pull door type fridge raised above the floor is much more practical, these expensive floor no space for nothing fridges are a waste of space a plug in cooler is much better and that space can be used for a portable toilet , that’s if you as Trucker Kelly , thank you all the best :)
You guys didn't mention anything about the power plant or the transmission.
Great video. I drove one of these for several months, the battery powered sleeper AC / heat is totally awesome.
You can also run your TV, refrige and satellite with it and the engine will only start up after very many hours to recharge, if it is even necessary - which in my experience never happened!
Basically, it's a fully battery powered APU that recharges while you drive ( And doesn't keep you or you neighbors awake at night ) I also enjoyed the advanced radar and the instant fuel economy monitoring in my unit. Some of the many reasons that the Cascadia has become so successful on the road.
It doesnt have AC. Truck has to be idled. Only heat
One beautiful truck ...
Nice truck. Please use a wide-angle lens when you do this.
The only thing I hate about the new cascadia is that the top bunk doesn’t have air vents
Fantástic truck 💙
I’m sorry but if you haven’t done filters on these trucks you can’t say they are cleaner haha, canister filters are much cleaner
Perfect place for FL windtunnel
I wonder how thos hubcaps work in snow and ice conditions
I can appreciate where your coming from. But this is all if that's the way you think it is. I've been out here a lifetime
Very nice I wonder what the cost would be.....
Not a driver but the new young drivers were not around when cb was a lifeline on the road. Your smartphone doesn't tell you when a pileup just happened up ahead when they're hauling ass down the road. Bang! you just became part of the pileup. The 2015 pileup on I-80 is proof off that.
@Ross- A -Roni wrong youshould not be on your phone while driving plus google does not have truck routing
What brand tool box that is mounted on the frame?
This is maybe 60% as Good as Scania S770 - V8 -770HP and 3700NM - monster from Sweden. Best Truck in World
Who is this we? Your not freight liner or with them
I agree. It irritates me too when dealers use this "we" nonsense. They had nothing to do with the design or construction. Sadly, you can now also see this as auto, RV, boat, and equipment dealers.
I think we will be okay.
EXCELLENT!!!
Nice video but if you are parked somewhere taken a 34 reset and need that bunk heater or air after 10 hours.. What do you do for comfort?
Fire up the truck and recharge it.
@@dchawk81 stay on top of those battles
Sweet!!!!!
How thick is the mattress
So. Pretty much the same as the other cascadias from the last 12 years?
What about the driver airbag?
I want to buy one now lol
You can get one for free on ATS.
