Love them both......not one of those wanting to proclaim individual musicians as the “greatest”....both are immensely talented....I love your obvious love of music and how your facial animation improves every video 😎👍🏻🥂
She spoke about her name and said that in Japanese it is pronounced: 'Sendy' (similar to Sandy) not Senri. And for the fun of it her name in Japanese (川口千里) in Google translate spelled out the English: 'Chisato Kawaguchi'. But hitting the speaker icon for the Japanese pronunciation yielded: "Kawaguchi Sendy". Yay!
For me, the most amazing thing has always been the flanging going on in the bass drum(s) - because the timing is so accurate its basically a continuous stream of flams. Incredible. Great track. Great reaction.
Sarah's the best. No I'm not just saying that cause she lives right near me! She's so fascinating because she grew up with Indian rhythm, and didn't learn the Western style until her late teenage years. It gives her a perspective that a lot of us just don't have.... She goes into it in her Drumeo seesion "Exploring Indian Rhythms On The Drums". If you haven't seen it...... run, don't walk. I'd already been playing drums for almost 30 years when I first saw that and it showed me just how much there is still to learn. Also, Andrew, she's done a Zildjian Live. Add it to the list. :-)
"i" in Japanese has an "ee" sound. So Senri is pronounced similar to Henry. ... This track on the album has two drummers panned one to the left and one to the right. The drummer on the album is her mentor Kozo Suganuma and there's a few vids of them playing it live floating around. There's a bit of humour during the drum solo sections. Link, if you want to see it. Real Life=R L / senri kawaguchi & kozo suganuma - UA-cam m.ua-cam.com/video/OiJ3cMxmsso/v-deo.html Kozo is an extremely versatile drummer playing jazz, rock, and fusion. Senri has also done this track with Tamu Murata, another great female Japanese drummer. ua-cam.com/video/ViyZ49RsNfk/v-deo.html As for the musicians on the album, there's a lot. Including multiple bass players. Personally I'd hazard a guess that's Tetsuo Sakurai just going by the speedy slap solo, but I may be wrong.
I've been waiting for you to react to Kanade Sato playing again but it seems like you have already forgotten her. Check out 'Kanade Sato plays Weck' ... it's a must even that it's several years old by now.
@@AndrewRooneyDrums you're laughing... but this is only channel i can support you - sarcastic jokes. :D can't do this by paypal or patreon, but at least i'm happy that you have that laugh on your face for a while :D greeting peopla is my all day volounteer job :D so... sorry you'll get those sometime :D
Howdy Andrew - I’ve been trying to find a good clip of Vinnie C during his stint with an amazing Frank Zappa band. Maybe you’ve seen or heard something, but I’ll have to look back through your extensive playlists. I came to your channel first to see LZ Achilles live and I’ve really enjoyed following along - revisiting old favorites and discovering new music - also so glad you found Yoyoka! Cheers from Raleigh NC. 🤘🏼
Very Nice! Love to see these when they call it a battle or drum off, but they're really just having fun smiling and jamming and both killing it! I liked this other one a little better. Senri Kawaguchi did the same thing with Murata Tamu to the same main groove of this song. They called it a battle, but it was the friendliest battle I’ve ever seen. It’s really a colab in my opinion. Yoyoka is friends with both Senri and Murata. “ たむ図鑑3-6 ドラムバトル!~Real Life~(ゲスト:川口千里様)” ua-cam.com/video/ViyZ49RsNfk/v-deo.html
Nothing wrong with al those toptech prog drummers, but it is all about the swing and groove. Senri and Sarah both have that. You cannot learn that. @Andrew: I do not believe Senri plays bass. In the latest video of Yoyoka however, our shining diamond is playing : vocals, guitar, bass, keybords and even drums☺ in an Ed Sheeran song: ua-cam.com/video/aWK1_gsRXn8/v-deo.html. It is the entire process and not suitable for a reaction I assume, you have been warned. Talking about The Warning: Might I give a suggestion. Mayble the quality of sound is not that good, but the performance of drummer Pau Villareal certainly is. The final minute is sensational and worth watching and commenting on: ua-cam.com/video/ZfpW0uVK34w/v-deo.html
Maybe it's just me, but whenever two drummers are playing the same groove together, I find these constant flam sounds very unpleasing. Even when the drummers are *insanely* good, like in this example, it's apparently unavoidable.
Senri is far better Sarah Thawer. Thawer's whole schtick is that she is a "girl drummer". Ive never heard her talk about being a drummer without bringing her gender into it. Thats reductive & a sign of small thinking. Senri Kawaguchi is musician who has dove into the artform with reckless abandon since she was a young child. She lets her playing speak for itself and has no agenda other than the love of music & playing drums. You can see that elevated perspective in her always increasing skill level. Like the best of the best, she never desires to be the focus....its always the instrument & the music. No offense to Sarah Thawer fans i just find them to be on two different levels. One is world class & one is a novelty.
Love how they riff off of each other. And looks like they are having the time of their lives!
Incredible. Both ladies are masters of thier craft.
Agree Phil!

Thanks Robert!
if i meet senri in public before this video, i never would've guessed that she is an absolute monster
A small pretty lady in a dress. I know what you mean. But take a closer look, there is a spider web on her dress. Might give a hint or two.
Drumeo, Sarah and Senri is why I watch UA-cam on a home theater set up.
YESSSSS!

Andy ! Did you notice Senri did two stick flips at 6:19. It was SO FAST I only noticed it on the OG Video.
The two best female drummers in the World... you just can't get any better.❤💙❤

Yes I'll get to that Zildjian Live Warren!

Warren, you might enjoy this video of Senri playing with an awesome Indian fusion band.

I would disagree Senri is the best in the world pretty much.

Wow just floored
A tsunami of positivity and elite drumming. Wow 👏💣👍
Wow 6:21 Senri does some prettty cool stick showmanship :o
Yup!

I have done that one also.
I think it got blocked from memory
Stunning performance from both drummers.
SO good!
MAN Your reactions AWESOME. I'm a Bass Player and this is AWESOME. She is also a fan of my Drummer of all Time Billy Cobham
Sarah's snare sound is on freaking point
I had the full stank face throughout.
And the 'Hide the Pain Harold' vibes crept in as well.
[Grown man burns his drums in despair🔥🔥]
even Senri have learned Estepario's stick flick. all of us we're waiting for you :D

whoa!!
so great!
If that didn't make you smile than you don't have a drummer's soul :)
AWESOME! Shout out to Rob beat down Brown.✌
I love Rob!
💛thoes gals!✌
INSANE Brooke!
I watch this video quite often because it puts me in a great mood. These 2 destroy
IDK who plays Bass and keys. But my guess would be Philippe Saisse on keys,. and Armand Sabal-Lecco on bass.
Holy crap! Brain blown
How good is it Mark!?
that was fun to watch! love drum-offs ! I pity the fool who challenges Gavin to a drum-off
OH! Japanese Girls 🤘😜😜👍
I'm surprised you haven't reacted to either Tarn Softwhip, or The Rev's one take of the song Almost Easy.
Sarah has done a Zildjian Live 2ith Ghost-Note.
I'll get to it!!!
I think I heard Davie504 in the BG there around 5:30. lol
Amir Bresler "Fish" I know you will like it.

Senrai?

Remember kids, practice practice practice. But if you want to play like this... Be born more talented I guess.

NO WAY is Senri playing the bass parts ... * IF she could play that well she would show it somewhere. (probably Armand Sabal-Lecco or Tetsuo Sakurai)
