We've needed more Martha for some years. 😀
My childhood companion. I liked Mel's return but I was sad to not see Martha return alongside UNIT.

@@UranusMcVitieFish-yd7oq freema ageman was very vocal about how her bbc contract killed her career. she said that she was not allowed do other stuff. and she had give up her career as an athlete.. she had to go to court to terminate her contract with the bbc. when Itv sent her the script for Law and Order UK, the bbc sent the lawyers after her and told her not to sign the contract under any circumstances. so she she ignored them. and after law and order wound up, freema ageman never worked again.
when she finished journeys end, she was not happy the way her character arc ended . that hamar dass key timey wimey wibbley wobbley nonsense. freema said at the time that there was nobody to ask what this was all about no sign of the show runner.
as a viewer none of that nonsense made sense.

Martha being the main lead on spin off is GREAT. Finally
I feel like out of all the NuWho companions Martha is the best choice to bring back as a lead for a spin-off. There was always so much more to explore with that character (and we would have gotten it if Freema hadn’t chosen to star in L&O:UK). And I love that they’re pairing her up with a classic companion (Mel) and Kate.
Shes also the only nuwho companion before they reverted donna that left the doctor unharmed
My only hope is they have the restraint not to bring back David Tennant, while there's drama potential between the Doctor and Martha, I'd think it's more interesting if Ncuti's Doctor had to face the fallout for his past life's mistake.
Him confronting how he dismissed the racism towards her after now experiencing it would be really cool
I would love to a series based on the early years of Torchwood after being founded by Queen Victoria

I love the idea of a miniseries set in some strange coastal town, like the cliffs from 73 Yards it’s a mythical, transitory space where legends become real, and UNIT sends Martha to monitor it only to become embroiled in some evil ancient mystery - basically the first 20 mins of 73 Yards with Martha in Ruby’s place

I feel that the Classic era gave us a good starting point for this 'war' as the Brigadier blew up the sea devil's base in their introduction story.
The idea of reviving Torchwood without John Barrowman is so funny to me, as someone who adores the show so much. Well other than Gwen, all the other characters are dead. What? We’re going to get Gwen, Rhys, and Anwen’s domestic life? Andy and Norton fighting in the 1950s? I would love it, but I feel like it would be so much better if Gwen was included in UNIT instead of starting Torchwood again. This way, they don’t have to introduce a new group alongside UNIT.
Yeah, current-era Unit is clearly handling the situations that otherwise might have fallen to Torchwood. I agree it'd be fun to see Gwen leading some sort of covert UNIT team, as if whatever was left of Torchwood got absorbed into UNIT.
Martha was my favourite companion! I would be thrilled to have her back 😃

Yeah, it's weird Dylan Holmes Williams directed 73 Yards when his name sounds so much like Roger Ap Gwilliam.
The Sea Devils vs the Silurians would be interesting and UNIT is stuck in the middle.

Omg me too, but I think his reunion with Doctor should happen in the main show of course. I hope Jonathan Groff will find some time in his Broadway schedule. He was very enthusiastic about coming back in the behind the scenes and I think his ship is too well made and too detailed (so many props!) to be used in only one episode. We have to hope that it will happen in season 2!

What I think to be really cool was when this 5 part show will tell us what happened to the Doctor in "73 yards" when he had vanished from Ruby's point of view. In other words: if we are to see his timeline, that would be soooooo great!
Martha is one of the only semi likeable companions of NuWho. Most are self absorbed and full of themsellves.

An idea I have for a spinoff is an anthology series featuring less recurring monsters and villains ( examples I can think of are nuwho villains such as the Sycorax, the Vashta Nerada, Tzim Sha, the Silence, etc., classic who villains such as Scaroth, Omega, the Black Guardian, etc., and other spinoff villains such as Mr. Nightmare from the Sarah Jane Adventures, and the 456 from Torchwood.)
I like the idea, but what would tie it all together? I think a folklore type horror would be good for the vashta nerada, and the Silence are perfect for a political drama, but the others might be trickier. If anyone reading this has ideas, please share, this could get interesting...

Fourteen and Donna as a short-run situation comedy.
Yes! Either a comic relief thing, or maybe a Christmas special of some sort. But no timey wimey stuff, just the normal life of a family and 14 learning to just be for a while.
Yes just short 10 min sketches or one off things would be hilarious but not to overtake and overshadow anything
I'm kinda thinking _The Power of Three_ the series, a sort of up-to-date version of _Bewitched_ or _Alf_ with nosy neighbors, disagreements with the condo association over the new non-regulation blue shed, alien visitors/invaders, but in a less life or death struggle.

It's sad because Martha only returned for 3 episodes in series 4 and a bit in the end of time. She really is the only proper companion (except of course Bill) that has the least screen time.

The series might have the same types of themes as 73 Yards, hence the quote being dropped in that episode. A spin-off similar to Turn Left / 73 Yards.
Why not take some popular Big Finish Doctor Who stories and animate them?
Big finish has some incredible stories, this would be amazing.
I think "The War between the Land and the Sea" is a reference to Lord Dunsany the old fantasy author. "Slid, the new god, striding through the stars, came suddenly upon earth lying in a corner of space. And behind Slid there marched a million waves, all following Slid and tramping up the twilight".
I wouldn’t want a whole 14 and Donna series but a special for Red Nose Day or Christmas centred around them would be great

On the Sascha idea - How about just a standalone film about (at least in the climax) the events in which the Toymaker beat him. NPH and Sascha chewing the same scenery would be epic.
Although it would fall into the category of unlikely 14th Doctor spin-offs, I would love a limited series of how the 14th Doctor becomes The Curator and how he acquires the Gallifrey Falls No More painting in "remarkable circumstances." The cherry-on-top being Tennant regenerating into Baker at the very end.

I’m so happy about the war between the land and the sea. In WBY, 14 mentioned Tardis being on cliff top alone and perhaps people worshipped it. At end of 73 yards when 15 and Ruby are there, flowers and cards are on the ground by it. 15 mentioned that area as the space between the land and the sea. The woman at the bar said that area by the fairy circle is the liminal space in between the land and sea.I knew the woman at the bar was telling the truth. They just were giving Ruby a hard time saying it wasn’t true. Perhaps Mad Jack will appear again in this series. I feel he’s a dark force using Roger ap William as a vessel. Feels like he keeps trying to be PM and keeps getting stopped. The connections are cool. I’m also thinking Roger, son of William could be Ruby’s brother, since her father’s name is William. And William’s name is Garnet, yet another red crystal.

I think it’s going to introduce the sea devil/ Silurian God Golgoth from the Cyberman comic series considering it’s going to be a fantasy series, we’ve seen Gods appearing everywhere and RTD weirdly lingered on Telos a lot in Empire of death.

There was all that rtd wibbly wobbley, timey wimey rtd era one nonsense about martha and the hamar dass key in journeys end. He was heading for the door. Cramming in david Tennants first departure. Freema ageyma i recall gave out about how they handled her character and implied that she couldn't do anyother work. In order to do law and order uk. She had to be fired from bbc contract. As a result she didn't work for a long time. I am glad she is doing something. I just hope that rtd doesn't mess up the 14th dr stuff. That would be unfair to Tennant. Who wants a break from the role. And would undermine rtds previous comments
Think it is about time (see what I did there :P) that we have a mini-series where the key of time is broken and that the companions as the Doctor is otherwise indisposed have to travel through time, get the parts back before the various enemies of the doctor grab it and cause chaos and confusion.
I would like to see a series where we have yet another reason for the destruction of Atlantis or find another colony of Atlanteans who are not looking to conquer the planet.
Perhaps a series set before the red dawn on Mars showing the Ice Warriors and their attempts to survive the changes on Mars or something similar thoughts?
I feel like an anthology series where every episode follows a different whoniverse character would be pretty fun. Kind of like the clone wars TV show. They could even check in on certain planets with new characters sometimes.
It would probably have to be animated, or that could get expensive, but I like it.

I'd be quite happy to see the Sacha Dhawan "Spy Master" back onscreen for a bit. I think it'd be fun for him to keep changing up his look - have him show up with the classic Delgado/Ainley Master goatee, or have him dressed as a director in a meta reference to Dhawan's appearance in An Adventure in Space and Time... In any case, I'm glad he's slated for a Big Finish audio series at the very least.
I also do like the idea of a totally different miniseries spinoff each year or two, rather than focusing too long on any one thing.

Since magic is a thing in the new Doctor Who series I'd like to see a magic-based spin-off. Imagine how funny it would be if they got Matt Ryan to play an unofficial version of John Constantine in the show.
I think something that visits the aftermath of some past adventures would be great, without the doctor or companions, just the supporting characters.
I liked Martha as a companion. It will be funny if the ratings and audience viewership end up being better than those for the new Dr. Who.

If they did the doctor and Donna… it should be a comedy drama about him learning to live a normal timeline life. Get a job, fall in love, have kids, find a hobby that isn’t save the world… learn to slow down. Show the struggle of learning to take a breath and have most of the problems be normal human problems.

My ideas for spin-offs:
1) A Brief History of the Time War. A live action narrative based on the book in the TARDIS library, following the adventures of the Eighth Doctor and a recast younger War Doctor in the chronological order experienced by the Time Lords.
2) the Lost Adventures, an animated series based on a selection of Big Finish audios from the Classic Era of the show. Give us The Wrong Doctors, the travels of Sixie with Evelyn, The Trial of the Valeyard, The Last Adventure, The Seventh Doctor's unproduced Season 27 and the Eighth Doctor Adventures.
3) Tales from the Under-Gallery. An elderly Fourteenth Doctor gets stuck in 16th century England and, after reconciling with Elizabeth I, he accepts to become the Curator, changing into a new body from his past. We follow his adventures through the centuries, portrayed by different Doctors from both Classic and New Who. The story should also involve the finding "under remarkable circumstances" of Gallifrey Falls No More and its protection by the Curators up to Colin Baker's version in the 20th century, right before he changes into Tom Baker's version.
