The fact that Furina shut down completely in the trial cuz she believed she failed haunts me.
That look of hopelessness. She knows she failed and believes everything she did was for naught.
Yup! She was told of she was ever found out that the plan would fail (a plan she litterally was kept out of the loop about). She wasn’t even told that this trial was the final step in the plan. (Hence she was willing to put her hand in the water as that would be the only way to keep her cover for the plan). So sad! Furina deserves better!

That part when Furina was about to reach her culminating point before Neuvillette pleaded her "guilty" you could literally feel she was suffocating. I think if I was in her shoes, I'd be gonna throw up or become crazy instead of having time to process to sit down 😭
FRR she suffered for so long and now after all those years she thought she had failed everyone😭😭
She cries not because of the death penalty, but because she thought she was exposed as a human, and then 500 years of effort would be in vain
Not only that, but she believed all the deaths about to happen were her fault. Because she wasn't good enough.

But Focalor take some time before she come up with the plan after Egeria gone, she said that she nearly grows a barnacle when she come up with the idea. That time can may be counted to the fulfill what shy of 500 years in the result =w=

And seeing Neuvillette realizing how alone Furina has been for 500 years.
which is why i'm happy she didn't tell us, because WE might not be from teyvat, but our emergency food certainly is! sneaky emergency food, being spyware for the heavenly principles so well she didn't even show up in the re-enactment in furina's inner world
If she had told us everything, maybe not, but at that point, the box was on stage, so there wouldn't be enough time.
@@plaidhatter1674 The walls open, Furina is on stage with the Traveler after just telling them the truth and they go "Whoops, wrong destination! Liney pack it back up!" so he does and they just drive away in the magic box. Problem solved!
Doesn't matter since she wouldn't have opened up anyway, but it's not like there was no way to stop the trial before it started. The moment she stood accused was the point of no return.
Furina was made of pretty stern stuff, though. She wouldn't have talked even when given the chance.

Happy Furina is finally living her life
At first being only able to slowly walk in her “Scene”, but being able to run as she gets better at acting and all the dialogue just hit me right in the stomach.
And I started bawling when Neuvillette cried
The emotion behind Neuvillette’s voice after that moment (sounded like he was triying his best not to cry) just made me cry even more.
The genuine anger in his voice when he said “we must mete out punishment to that beast” sealed the deal.
Also it broke my heart how after all this happened Furina just packs her stuff and leaves quiety.

Man I love that Genshin shows the dark side of Godhood and the damage it can do to someone. It shows the human side of the Gods we see. Venti and how he drinks away his sorrows, Zhongli being exhausted and wanting to retire, Ei losing all the people she loves and then locking herself away, Nahida being a young soul who still has much to learn about the world, and Focalors wanting to be with humans and experience their culture; willing to sacrifice herself for her people and so her human self can live the ordinary life she always wanted to.
Im definetely so happy that furina can now be happy and have a good life,she deserve to be happy,she saved fontaine in 500 years,she was so strong to keep this in 500 years,shes perfect,love her

CyYu displays Hitchcock's "bomb theory" perfectly. When you know something is about to happen and it does happen, it leaves the audience with a more satisfying ending than if the audience were to never know it was going to happen and then it happens.
When you find yourself on a throne that doesn't belong to you and have no choice but to go beyond perfection lest the imposter be exposed. It doesn't matter if the real deal ain't ever this good, people expect them to be.
Even a fake human royal only has to hang on for a few decades and that's plenty enough to go mad. Five centuries is a whole new brand of hell.
It's o e reason why I find the blade hanging over Focelors' head is a reference to the Sword of Damocles.
The sad thing about the Trial was: Even after they realized that they put their own Archon on trial, which fulfil the prophecy, no single soul even cares for her, the Archon just sat there, lifeless, seeing her country sank, and after all of her sacrifice, none even gave her an apology or at least a hug (except Focalors). She simply picked up her things and left. Furina is really the forgotten Saint of Fontain.
I love that Charlottes' survival instincts overtook her journalist instincts when they reached the Knave

Furina deserved better, not this masquerade of lies & suffering.
This archon quest did not disappoint and almost made me wanna cry for her. It’s like a well written opera filled with all kinds of emotion and tons of heartaching moments.
I just realized that when Furina walked out of the Opera…she was fully expecting everything to be destroyed and with no more humans alive…but I do have a question…would they Melusine also dissolve? They’re not Oceanids turned humans so maybe they wouldn’t?
the melusines would've been fine. they're born from elynas who wasn't made from primordial seawater

After an explosion the parts lodged themselves into elynas's body. The mecha parts mixed with elynas (blood I think) and melusine were born that's why they have those gears as tokens. Those are the parts which resulted in their creation.
Though it can just be elynas blood that made them and the parts are just mementos of the reason behind their creation.
Since maybe it wasn't seen, the guards in Furina's inner world have the names: (Chains)A Cry Without Echo and A Silence Without End.

Everything about Furina’s trial legitimately hurt me. I knew something was seriously wrong the moment she got frantic. It’s no wonder why she gave up and accepted her death sentence. If I were in her shoes, I probably would’ve done the same thing. (Mind you, that was before we learned the truth about her history)
I mean, even before the trial, she thought that she finally found a confident, only for them to betray her, and actively work against her! After everything that happened, I would’ve left Fontaine and never set foot in that nation again. (Or leave it for a little while at the very least)
Just to be clear, I understand that we needed answers, and I hate the "just trust, and obey" mindset as much as anyone. But there had to be a better way.
I feel bad for her, she didnt know that this was the trial shes been waiting for, for all she knew, years of suffering went to waste

after spending upwards of an hour crying over how depressing and painful Furina's story was leading up to this, it feels genuinely _freeing_ to see it all go so damn well in the end. to see her dedication was _worth_ it, and the music just _perfectly_ encapsulates the elation she feels as she realizes exactly that.

I feel like nearly everyone has forgotten this. But it was confirmed our Sibling cannot be the Third Descender. Because our sibling has records within Irmunsul. Nahida revealed that during the 3.x Archon quest.
Our sibling is a Teyvat Native. In order to have your records within Irmunsul you need to have been born on, or created on Teyvat. Our sibling does have records within the info tree but they're being blocked by some unknown force so Nahida cannot access the info for us. But just telling us that our sibling is a native reveals they are not a descender. Because descenders do not have records within that info tree.
Just a theory technically if our sibling is the third descender which is possible as in the first cutscene in game the twins were described as travelers and talked about how they were about to leave for the next world again, what if when he was turned into a gnoses his spirit/energy got released and wasn’t cleansed linking it to teyvat, as we know from xiao, gods essences/spirit/energy needs to be cleansed otherwise it infects the world around their corpse. what if this happened as we know our sibling was sealed like us but unlike us he seems to have been “released” straight away, well what if him being recorded inside irmunsul is due to what happened when he/she was converted into the gnosis and what we’ve seen so far of them is just a leyline disorder, as we’ve seen on that one island in inazuma leyline disorders can bring beings from the past into the future and even suspend them in time, what if due to the sibling’s extraordinary power it’s just doing this on a continental scale, just something I’ve thought about as the lore seems to be all over the place for our sibling and we know genshin loves to throw curveballs in the storytelling
But that logic was weird tho since our sibling came with us into Teyvat. We were both outsiders. How come our sibling is a Teyvat native while we're the descender? It doesn't make sense. There's a loophole in that logic. So i suspect that our sibling might have died but was reincarnated by the Abyss or something hence why she/he is now recorded as a Teyvat Native but an unknown force is blocking further info (Abyss maybe?)
Traveler and Paimon caused her to break, Furina manage to deceive her people for 500 years, endured it, and now putting her to trial finally break her

I didn't notice it in my play through, but Neuvillette mentions the "gnoses" comes from the Third Descender. Plural, as in possibly all of them may be split up remains of one person. Maybe the lady the travelers fight in the beginning
You know who came before our traveler (the fourth descender)? The sibling. Maybe there isn’t any trace of the other twin as a descender because they weren’t supposed to be one.
The reason why she/he might be hiding at the abyss is to scape what is supposed to happen.
I have played, and now watched this quest many times and yet I still tear up/cry, and my heart cries every time.
Also Funina is the GOAT, Absolute W of a person, she deserves all the hugs!

I just want to say, Wriothesley pulling up with that big ship from the water is the equivalent of Jaina Proudmoore raising her father's ship from the sea. Also this was possibly the best archon quest in my opinion
I will say this is very much a Raiden Shogun moment where she split herself in two but instead of her conscience it was her humanity
the biggest parts in all of this is that focalors was the last hydro archon, and there will never be another since both the hydro authority and the gnosis has been given away...

To clarify some things from Skirk’s dialogues:
1) By implication, in the original prophecy Skirk is the one who beats down the whale-with or without Child meeting and fighting the whale (since the Traveler is “outside” of Teyvat’s fate in a way…probably). The Traveler and Neuvillete coming and this battleground are outside of the gaze of the gods…probably.
2) Skirk’s master is “The Foul,” a male. Other named like “The Visionary” and “Gold” are other names Skirk heard from her master, “the Foul.” We know that those from the Hexenzirkel are on a similar plane/power as “The Foul.”
3) [while not really from Skirk’s dialogue] it appears that nations in Teyvat-especially since the establishment of The Seven-are judged by the actions of their archons, their “kings”. Khaenri’ah’s people were cursed even though Dainslef’s dialogues suggest that it was due to the actions of Khaenri’ahs rulers that the nation was wiped out by the Heavenly Principles/Celestia/whichever heavenly gods. Fontaine had a judgement pronounced upon it because of the actions of its archon, granting the with of her oceanic familiars to become human. And yet celestia’s/the heavenly principle’s/fate’s judgement was a national disaster meant to dissolve all of Fontaine’s people back into Oceanids.

4.3 will be some sort of epilogue to that.
4.4 will be the interlude aka Abyss stuff with Dain
The rest before 5.0 will be more event focused, but that might change with all the craziness happened so far. But the update around Jan-Feb is usually reserved for the Lantern Rite.
I hope in 4.3 or some future version, Neuvillette reveal Furina's secret to the people of Fontaine and then they ask for her to return to the opera house to become their Archon once again despise her not having the power of the gods

@@J-manli I've just finished it. It seems nobody other than Neuvillette and the Traveler knew about her secret though (okay Paimon too), so my opinion still stands. One way or another, Furina deserves the title of Hydro Archon, for real this time.

i think cuz they are figthing in another world outside of teyvat (a world that probably have connection with Honkai world), the dubstep kicked in as to clarify that this is indeed not teyvat
at this point it basicly confirmed that there's no one in celestia. not the heavenly principles, not even the primordial one.
For anyone that been wondering why him giving up the gnosis still let him keep the power the dragon: The power that was stolen from the dragon was kept at the throne of the seven archons, not in the gnosis. So by destroying the hydro archon seat, the power was returned to him.
At the end of act 4 neuvilette did mentioned that the stolen power was the basis for the archon power, but he did not mention gnosis. At that time we only assume that it was the gnosis.

I never got the thought that Traveler told Furina that "I could be your witness."
Showing that Traveler really does care and is willing to take Furina's side, she just needs to open up...
If you read Neuvilette's new lines after the quest, it mentions that the 1st and 2nd created the gnosis using the 3rd's. Also my hot take is that, since we have 7 chakra points or energy focal points, it must be the inspiration(?)
I like how nobody mentioned this, but the theme at the execution stage with focalors is so chill!
Rather than just being bubble. We should have seen some changes in the statues across fontain in a motage of sorts befor nuvulet abosorving it. It shill doent feel like a arcon is dead. The story is perfection, maybe the statues light go out, maybe we see close up of all arcons sensing what just happened, that could have been chery on top
What if paimon is the 3rd descender or what remains of it and the king piece is her while we are the pawn piece since we are able to transform into any of the elements

Now that I think about it, Can the goddess who capture our sister/brother at the start of the game be "Gold" (or at least be related to Skirk) ? Because, she kind of look similar to Skirk, Skirk can "trap" the whale inside a tiny quantum thing and the goddess can trap our sister / brother inside a tiny imaginary thing.
No, because she's anti-humanity while Gold is (seemingly)super pro-human. Not to mention it's most likely that the intro happened before the calamity, which means Gold would have still been in Khaenri'ah

My interesting Theory is that the third decender would be an isekai protag that had the ability to store Dragon Athourity inside objects we call Gnosis and it is redirected to Celestia and after dying, the gnosis became a curse instead of a source of elemental power.

The traveller's sibling is not a descender for some reason as stated by nahida.
The fact that the twin IS from Teyvet could mean that the twin is just a copy of the "real" twin. The one we see now may be made by Gold like Albedo was. That way the third can be the real twin, and the sibling we see now is just a place holder made to help protect Khaenri’ah. It is possible that they didn't know there were two travelers and the sibling was hurt while trying to save the nation. The copy was given the real twins memories so they knew about us but no one else did. That is why Nahida says our twin is from Teyvet and we are not. Just a thought. If anyone likes lore theory check out a creator called Ashikai. Thanks for the wonderful video.

Neuvillette was still given his authority back. Focalors removed the authority and returned it to him, the gnosis still contains power from celestia but not the dragons appropriated authority
