Look at the attitude from Kelvin towards the chef during the 1st lesson. The record speaks for itself. At 30:57, when Li Teng asked him about the burnt pork lard, he replied "No pork lard, don't eat pork lard loh". An average minced meat noodle stall (or perhaps from your house downstairs etc), they will add small amount of it (even if it's for show, not crispy but most importantly, to intensify the seasoning of the dish). Furthermore, at 31:30, he still have the cheek to answer back Li Teng for uncooked pork lard when Wei Wen had convincingly give him in a very arrogant tone, instead of being humble when he knows that he's in trouble at that point of time. (Anyway, that loser burnt that batch of pork lard again! HAHAHA!) At 34:31, again, look at the tone of how he replied to his mentor, "I see until it turns black". Hello loser, if you have your surrounding awareness of what's happening to the kitchen (or getting the procedure right of what to do in the kitchen), you won't "see your chilli until it turns black". Gordon Ramsay once say, "You work in a mess, you produce the mess". Loser, please do not work in culinary aspect and should work on by improving your pathetic attitude, given you are 34 years of age.
@@bryanidk6064 Actually Kelvin just seemed like he's already pretty successful in his own life, judging from the house he stays at (landed property?). He doesn't seem to care less about the skill he will be learning today and the competition. I agree that someone who is willing to cherish this skill that he's learning should be chosen instead.
I'm very annoyed by kelvin, no substance and egoistic, keep finding excuses for his lousy attitude. Still have the audacity to say he is learning very sincerely but just that the teacher can't tell.
Hawker owners are not easy as you have to have the whole package .. food have to be good ... efficient ... customer service...cleanliness...able to work long hours .... your life is basically at the hawkers center ...most important good health ...👍👍👍👍

Went all the way to try this minced pork noodles at Tampines Round market this morning. Wait quite a while. Ordered minced pork noodles $3 , add ribs $2.40. paid $5.40. the braised ribs is salty ( for me). The you Mee is good, QQ slices pork is fresh. The mistake is I added braised spare ribs that kills the whole dish, salty , not spicy . For seniors or elderly , order kway teow or bee hoon. If ordered any braised item, cannot topped on noodles with gravy as salty. Young ones may feel ok, but suggest braised item to put separately. Dish and soup a bit sweet. Will not travel all the way to try again. 7/10
I am not such a fan of the hosts, I find they are trying to stir nonsense. Clearly being a hawker is extremely challenging but it seems the hosts are trying to copy Japanese variety shows with their deprecating humour, especially the girl!
Kelvin is cocky & arrogant with this attitude he won't go far in anything he does, the worst part is always acting smart without listening to instructions, Hate his character!
From the show I observe one competitor is acting and the other is true competitor.
