We were amazed at how beautiful the Leelanau peninsula was & all the great little towns...Suttons Bay, Leland, Northport. And the we did a winery trip in Old Mission peninsula. This is truly a hidden treasure in North America.
I wouldn't really call it a hidden treasure. There are millions of people that visit the Traverse City area every year. I grew up in the area you should have seen it in the 1970s then it was a hidden treasure. Now it's nothing but mansions on every Hill half the trees have been cut down nothing but traffic everywhere you go. And everything is way overpriced. I'm glad I don't live in that area anymore. I feel like it's been completely ruined.
Good stuff. I'm planning on performing at the National Cherry Festival in Traverse City Michigan for the 3rd time this July! I love it there. I can't wait!
Thanks for this video. My mom was raised in Northport, and we visited the Leelanau many times a year, in every season, while I was growing up. It's been many years now since I lived in Michigan, but always my heart is there - it's a bittersweet rush to experience some of it again through your lens.
Thank you so much for watching, and for your thoughtful message. What a wonderful area to visit and grow up. Hope you'll check out some of my other videos. Cheers, Mike
I haven't explored much of the state, mainly just Traverse City and Detroit. I really did enjoy TC, such a beautiful area. Thanks so much for watching! Cheers, Mike
Most beautiful State anywhere. I guess beauty is in the eye of the beholder. If you travel out west you might change your mind about Michigan being the most beautiful state.
Fantastic! I'm sure you will have a wonderful time. Please stop by again after your visit and let me know how you liked Traverse City. Thanks for watching. Cheers, Mike
I spent many summers in this area and loved every minute. The video is awesome and brings back fantastic memories! Lately, I have been discussing with my wife and kids about moving to Michigan and we have chosen the Traverse City area.
Thank you so much for the kudos, much appreciated. While I only visited TC, I did think it would be a lovely place to raise a family. Thanks for watching and wish you all the best.
Now I want an apple! I was born across the state in Alpena, think I saw Traverse City once. I'm longing to return to that part of the country, a place with a proper autumn!
Although I haven’t been to Traverse City in a few years, I remember it being the best Michigan has to offer! We usually stay in Elk Rapids, which is equally as beautiful! You captured the city extremely well! I’d love to support each other’s channels! 👍😀
So happy you enjoyed it. Such a wonderful town. Hope to visit again one day soon. Thanks for watching, hope you will subscribe for more road trip travel videos. Cheers, Mike
Love the changing of the leaves. The great thing is that Michigan is so close to where we are in Ontario - need to make it out here! Thanks for showing us Traverse City.
Living most of my life on/off in Arizona, fall foliage is something that I have not seen a lot of. Traverse City is a fantastic place for autumn...anytime really. Yeah, you should try and make it there one day, super cool city.
As this time of year approaches, I decide to watch again. Leaves will soon be changing and we’ll become a beautiful, colorful wonderland again. Just returned home to TC (about a mile up the hill from The Commons) after three weeks at our family’s summer cottage on the shores of Northport. Hope you can take another road trip this way again soon.
Awe...that's so awesome! Thank you for stopping by and watching again. I really loved my time in Traverse City and hope to visit again one day soon. All the best, Mike
Mike's Road Trip , you’re so welcome! Have you taken the most famous road trip of all here in the States? The US Route 66 road trip. Over 2400 miles strong. A very beautiful and enjoyable trip with the added blast through the past. I’ve driven through the California, Arizona and New Mexico sections, and for awhile lived nearby in the foothills of Pasadena. Probably best to do in Spring and/or Fall. Cheers!
