The second generation is now available at a dealership near you but the V8 engine has been replaced by a turbo V6. Bryan T, I was in the same boat. Not interested in trucks...or Ford. Until I purchased a new '14 Raptor and now the '17. Resale value on the first one was awesome, lost very little money.
This and the GT.

The ability to get a full size truck with an extended cab and the short bed to keep the wheelbase short is intriguing. Much more manueverable in town.
I'm actually really happy that they chose to go with a V6 instead of a chunky V8, its something new for real American Pick-up Trucks!
I am definitely not a truck person, I'd rather have a Expedition over a F150 anyday, but not this... This thing is a beast!
I have no interest in a truck but the Raptor is badass, if I could afford it I might actually consider it. Same with a Hellcat/Demon.
You know, the first generation isn't all that expensive. You can find them for sale online for less than $25,000. Especially the ones that had the 5.4.

Was never a truck guy let alone car guy but man is this thing beautiful.
I don't like pickup trucks but I love the Raptor, that's extremely high praise.
I dont care for pick up trucks nor ford. But the exterior on this is amazingly executed. a reason to buy it alone

You had a Raptor. No need to call the tree service guys just tie some para cord to the hitch or w/e and tie the other end to the tree, throw the raptor in 4 hi, turn off traction and stability mode shift into manual mode, 1st gear, then (make sure there's plenty of slack so you can build enough speed.) then floor it, you want the para cord to tense when the raptor has accelerated to about 8 mph. It won't uproot the tree (that's what the new super duty line up is for) but it'll shake the tree violently and knock your drone on down! Also, it shouldn't hurt the Ford!

Since the new F-250's frame is 2400% strong than the already ridiculously strong predecessor I bet that'd be able to accomplish much more impressive feats of strength, like demolition: tie chain to goose neck hitch, tie other end of chain to the chimney in the house, (this had better be a VERY strong 75-100 foot chain) and follow the aforementioned steps for the Raptor drone retrieval project. Definitely clear out the house first because that bitch is goin' down!

This truck combines rugged athleticism with sophisticated elegance. Like Bruce Jenner crossed with Kim Kardashian... it really is _that_ special
Still wish they would offer a V8 in it. A Raptor just needs that V8 rumble - and not of the synthetic variety....
This is better though in terms of HP and Torque.

Good review, nice truck. Timely drone rescue, I spent this morning rescuing mine from a tree. Fortunately it was on my property. Unfortunately I had to wait a month for the end of fire season and then take down 3 trees to get to it. Wood won't be wasted but a morning was.

Really dislike the sound of the ecoboost. Would take less performance in exchange for that 6.2L V8 sound. Should have at least be an option to spec the v8
Blake Swan just get a 1st gen Raptor or if you have really deep pockets im pretty sure you can swap the ecoboost with a 5.0L.

Nate Wallinger LT4 overheats in the corvette z06 so that would be a big no.
In person it actually sounds good. It has a military sound to it.
big yee I'm pretty sure it was the auto transmission not the engine. Because the manuals don't really have that problem.

So yeah, it got 3rd place in the Baja race (stock full class).
Now on the surface this sounds awesome, dig a little deeper and you find that it came 3rd of 3 finishing vehicles. So what beat it? A 1999 Hummer H1 took first place and a 2014 Toyota Land Cruiser took second. So the race is really punishing, there must be a lot of vehicles that didn't finish right? Nope, the full stock class had 5 entries, all of them finished the round trip of the race course but you only have 36 hours to do so and two of them didn't make that cutoff, the raptor only made it with 52 seconds to spare mind you.
So you want an awesome high speed offroad vehicle that's still in production? Get a Toyota Land Cruiser, it's cheaper to buy, cheaper to maintain and finishes the Baja faster than the Raptor. Do you want a Ford pickup for hauling the family and gear around, get a normal F-150 or Super Duty. Don't have a family and want a coolish pickup and can handle the short bed? Get the Raptor. Just don't buy the sales pitch hook, line and sinker.

What is the payload on a Raptor
Ford should put this 3.5L V6 in the next Ecoboost Mustang. I've heard this engine is supposed to address the problems of the Ecoboost lineup, such as carbon build-up, thru tricks such as the mentioned piston cooling. So was all that trouble getting the drone back worth the whirlwind date with this beauty?
It was worth it to get my investment out of the tree. Those things aren't cheap.

I went from watching the mk4 supra review to watching the ford raptor f150 😂
How much did it end up costing you to get the drone down? I guess even a couple hundred bucks is better than replacing it. A cheap Phantom 4 is $800 just for the drone.
They only charged my $120. I had $130 on my and gave him 125 since I wanted 5 bucks for dinner.
Why was there no battery in the drone when it was in the tree? I own a P4P and the battery cannot just fall out. Nice review however.
