Good tip to put the lime or lemon juice in the pot with the ground provisions to keep the yam from "turning colour". Never saw that before................

@Dessy Bieber-Jackson Try a little vinegar, that might do the trick.

Wow, it was as though I was there with you learning. It is wise to have the camera that close to you, the food and/or other items when you are giving instructions on how to prepare a particular meal. You were also thorough in your explanations.
He makes cooking so simple, he is not all extra about everything. I will be making this for my lunch tomorrow.

In case you get caught w itching skin, use a lime to area -when it dries itching will stop but my daughter also added this:wash the area w crusader soap(uk brand) or tea tree oil castile soap (good on so many levels) or simply use the tea tree oil w your bath water rinse w soap or use your soap and rub your skin down w tea tree oil n a carrier oil (,avocado, coconut, evoo) after your bath !
Star you make it look so easy but I’m gonna have to practice making dumplings for a while 😂

We call it hard food, we also have pumpkin in too.
I'm looking on Ubereats to get food delivery during my lockdown. There are lots of attractive Jamaican restaurants here in south Florida. While I've had curried goat again and again, and oxtails and jerk chicken again and again, I saw these side dishes, dumplings and yams in the ubereats menus--and I wondered, what the hell are these? It turns out I've eaten them, but I was never really aware, so I googled you. What a helpful and nice lesson. Thanks.
Thank you
U are a boss Morris propa
Nice video.
Nice video, thank you :):)
Thank you so much. Never realized hard dumplings were relatively easy to make. Just assuming I don't have to use cornmeal correct?
No you dont.. personal preference
Why are they called provisions, the hard food I mean? Great show great channel. God Bless
Hey I just wanted to know what is the type of cornmeal you used please and thank you
THANKS.......
BOSS LADY you are most welcome and thanks for watching
Can it be done without the cornmeal is there a big difference?
Mmmmm
LOVE YOU
A kart wheel u a cook mi boss lol
Will the dumplings have a lime taste?
Bro you look like one of my old school Link. From Spalding high school 👀
Is it ok to not use cornmeal in wheat flour
So the banana nuh come out bitter because they are cooked in the skin?
Plain or self rising flour please ?
Question, why the lime in the boiling water?
Can I use these dumplings when making curry chicken ??
Yes
How long did you cook the dumpling for? Was it 15mins or more
20 min
I counted 5 for the dumpling, 7 for the yam and 15 minutes when the banana was added. So the dumplings were in the for like 27 minutes
I prefer to to peel the banana , good tips though
What is the yam called when buying it in America
yellow name
about how much minutes should the dumpling alone finish cook?
Kim D. The Dumplings take up to 20 minutes to cook
Try grated carrots in your dumplings.
I wish you guys would say what flour you are using. I know it’s usually plain but others don’t!
English people use self raising which comes out fluffy which you don’t want!!
But because the Green Bananas have pesticides when I buy them at No Frills I have been told to remove the skin completely before cooking
how long does it normally take to boil the dumplings???
They take up to 20 mins to cook perfectly.
do you have a fried plantain recipe I like mine sweet
BOSS LADY we do have the plantain recipe just haven't posted as yet but will get on it ASAP
Like to cook too okay 👌
Anybody watching this video in 2020 and live in the St. Louis area please let me know where you can find cooking (green) bananas. Every store I have checked don't have them quite green. They are always slightly ripened.
2024🎉
Never seem a white yam in my life im from NY i think hes using yuca
thats definitely not yuca. Look at the skin. I wasn't sure if it was white or yellow yam. At the end of the video the yam looked yellow, so It basically answered my question.
There are many different types of yam, white yam, yellow yam, bulbous, purple yam.
Why do you call it provisions?
Love your tips but until this blessed day I can't get my dumplings right... The way they shape when its finish cooking is just plain UGLY!!!!.but great video
Quick n nice but please speak up
I really love what you did with this video but, I'm not sure if anybody else have a problem with the sound, but I barely can hear you if at all possible can you please read make this video or voice over it something thank you so much
So, there is NO type of meat-based broth at all? This seems mighty BLAND. I'm going to try it your way, but I bought some chicken necks just in case I'd rather a meat broth against the provisions.
People don’t just eat pure boiled banana, yam, and dumplings by themselves. Use your brain.
only lazy people cook banana in its peel! LOL
gregmck28
it's easier to peel when its boil first. But when I'm cooking an oildown I peel my green bananas first
Natasha Scott What is "oildown?"
gregmck28 you are wrong they are alot of nutrients in the skin. He's doing it the right way.
Racquel Watson wise people drink the benefit 😉
Always cook green banana in the skins. Every time. You don’t know what you’re on about
If he wasn't on camera he wouldn't be doing all the extra stuff like using lime
Thank you
