For truckers, Greyhound busses, and all other vehicles headed east (WELL east) out of LA on I-10, at the town of Indio, take CA-86 divided road all the way almost like a freeway, SOUTH to El Centro (some traffic lights in Brawley), then take I-8 EAST until it ends and at I-10 in Casa Grande, Az, then get back on I-10 and continue east thru Tucson, New Mexico, and into Texas. This serves as another "Phoenix Bypass" and this route has less than a third of the traffic that I-10 has, moreover just out of Indio, I-10 has a long grade (Chiriaco Summit) that slows traffic by trucks moving into left lane. I-8 is flat for the remainder of the drive from El Centro to Casa Grande, Az (except for one small hill about 15 miles east of Yuma, Az).
Great video! Loved the contrast between the interior and the coastal area near San Diego. The landscape reminds me so much of my country - Spain. Some placenames are also kind of fun for a Spanish speaker, like the sign at 17:00 El Cajón 5 / La Mesa 8 (The drawer 5 / The table 8) ... must be quite a big house if those two things are 3 miles apart!
Check out that 1975-1979 Chevrolet Nova at 17:12! Not only does it still run, it looks like it just came out of the showroom! In the Chicago area (where I'm originally from), it would have been a rustbucket over 30 years ago. It's amazing how long cars can last when they aren't exposed to copious amounts of road salt every winter.
Great drive! Have you heard the longest suspension bridge was recently opened to traffic in Turkey on March 18, 2022? It's 1915 Çanakkale Bridge and it has a span length of 2,023 meters, surpassing Akashi Kaikyo Bridge in Japan by 32 meters which is 1,991 meters.

the ONLY drawback is there is a US Customs and Border Patrol just east of Yume, but the wait is very minimal, if at all.

I've never been to Spain, but from what I've seen online, Spain and California seem to have similar landscapes.
@@AsphaltPlanet1 Can you do the 805 next in the series from 2020?

California is like an driving automotive museum. Nice catch, I didn't notice that when driving it.
A message to future generations:
Never let this channel die.
Anyways, nice road trip as always, especially for your 1st video on the Interstate 8
lol, thank you.

I'd heard about that bridge in Turkey. Thanks for the comment.
Interstate 8 looks like a cool freeway to drive on! Nice video!

Scenic drive! Landscapes are so dynamic!
the mountains of boulders are really striking. thanks for the comment.
Nice Video!
Thanks!
I like the scenery of I-8 through southwestern Imperial County, CA and southeastern San Diego County, CA.
I-8 is a pretty scenic drive.
My grandmother was raised in nearby El Punundo but she died in San Jubunjo.
I was snowboarding at Mt High on this day. By the end of the week things got interesting.
Faz um vídeo de San Diego a Los Angeles
one day.

This is scenic!
Side note, how do you create the signs that appear in the corner?
thanks for the comment, the signs are taken with a different camera and then added to video footage later.
Do you plan to make some videos in Mexico?
Is this the longest descent ?
Just before the lockdown.
yeah, it's crazy to look back on actually.
