I DO luv your videos! I'm from Mexico (about 20 hours driving to California) and I've driven a lot those routes. 15, 5, 805, 8 and a lot more. These videos make me wanna be behind the wheel there again. Last time was in 2018... Lookin' forward to do it!
Great video Asphalt Planet. Personally, that mountain section of Interstate 8 is extremely underrated and doesn't get enough attention for what its worth. Those mountains look so dry too, its hard to imagine that it snows there in the winter! Also, haven't you noticed that most of California has replaced their button copy signs within the past few years? For some reason they haven't replaced the ones at the 805/8 interchange, kind of interesting. Also look at that BMW cruising their way through on 11:34, a lot of motorists tend to drive fast on this part of I-8, and I could see why, who wouldn't want to?
I suspect the old gantries are going to be replaced in the coming years, because it seems like the only button copy signs that were left up around San Diego are on those older style gantries. And, I-8 might be my favourite drive in San Diego, so I'm not surprised to see drivers like that BMW enjoying the interstate on what was such a beautiful day. Thanks for the comment.
@@AsphaltPlanet1 What a coincidence! San Diego is a beautiful place to visit especially the Coronado Island. I have made driving videos from the LA area to San Diego on my channel.
Nice to have another video on I-8. This time, heading easterly down from San Diego to the imperial valley. I must admit that In-Ko-Pah mountains are quite a funny name 😂. Some sad news, 3 cops got injured at the town of Bourget, near Ottawa after an action that went wrong. One of them, Eric Mueller, 42 years old died unfortunately from his wounds. Also, in Alberta, there are some serious wildfires, unfortunately, due to the dry weather & very high temperature, it's not ready to end soon. Reminds me of something similar in British Columbia, back 2 years ago. Also, I have 2 series suggestions that you could make someday, Okhlahoma city & Boston
I read about the OPP shooting. Very tragic indeed. There have been quite a number of high profile police shootings over the past year in Ontario. It's pretty awful. Thanks for the comment.
I don't use a GoPro, but a camcorder, and it is mounted inside of the car. Though a modern gopro is probably an easier setup if you are looking to do something like this yourself.
Cyclists are generally allowed on the shoulder of remote mountain roads in the western US. California Highway 94 serves as an alternate route in that corridor, but I'm assuming that cycling is allowed on that portion of the freeway.
First and great drive! What do you think of differences between Ontario Highway 400 in Canada and Kan-etsu Expressway (E17) in Japan? Which one is better? Here's the video: ua-cam.com/video/dV2aQr3Ph4s/v-deo.html
Nice video and the background music is just right for it.
The In Ko Pah grade is comparable to the Grapevine but it has a much wider median and more turns
All those cool mountains covered in rocks - very distinctive to San Diego County. Wonderful drive.
Thank you

Loved the rural mountain scenery. It seems like Caltrans really took advantage of the topography at the I-8/805 interchange. Great video
I-8 is an amazing drive. Thanks for the comment.
Such an amazing view at 1:43, so many cars travelling in unison! Great drive
Thank you.
That's a good day in So. Cal. you should see it when it is crowded.
We just visited San Diego on Sunday and indeed the freeways are nicer and less congested than in Los Angeles.
I was in San Diego on Sunday too. Thanks for the comment.

I saw that. Good work.
Extremely helpful video for the trip I need to make to El Centro.

7:40 there’s a mileage sign that reads
Alpine-12
El Centro-102
Yuma-159
I’ve never seen a video like this . Verry cool
Great video. One curious question: how is the video shot? Do you attach a gopro inside or outside of the car?

If you plan to do more US freeway videos, how about visit Boston, New Jersey, Philadelphia, Washington DC, and Orlando!
11:22 was there really a guy riding his bike on the side of I-8?
Seems to be the case. Hopefully there's an alternative non-freeway road through the mountains that this guy could've picked.

I think it's kind of hard to compare roads in Japan and Ontario. They are kind of dissimilar.
